The story begins
Spring flingChapter 1 The story begins
As story goes there is someone out there in this wide world made to be just for you. Some people search every millimeter of the earth´s surface, others have that someone right next to them all the time (often without realizing it), while a few people go to a party in collage and end up sleeping with the love of their life. Well at least that is what Hyukjae has learned in all the chic-flicks he´s been watching trough out the years. People fall madly in love in some unexpected way and fortunately that person just happens to be ‘the one’. And they live happily ever after. Yada, yada, yada. But… life has never played itself like a romantic comedy for Hyukjae. No, that would be a lie. Life just skipped the whole romance part and added a lot more comedy (for everyone around that is).
Once upon a time he also believed in love at first sight, destiny and a happily ever after. But after being brutally dumped or stood up on dates after the other person had been asked out by someone else before their date, Hyukjae gave up on the whole idea of love. Now he only loves his family and friends, strawberry (or any other flavored) ice-cream and his job.
Working with children was the best thing in his entire live. They never judge or lied behind someone´s back to make them feel good and the best part was that they agreed with him that a day without ice-cream was a failure. If they had a fight they would throw a pencil at the other student or teacher. This would later result in being scolded and then told to apologize. After the apology they would smile to one another and the fight was long forgotten. Hyukjae really liked that about children. Why didn´t people stay that way when grown up? Well without the pencil-throwing.
This was the reason why Hyukjae never tried to find love and dedicated his life to the children at the kindergarten, where he worked, and to his family and friends. Giving up on this whole picture perfect life with a kind and beautiful wife, a big house with a white picket fence and children running around inside the garden Hyukjae sighed. Another day of work was done and it was time to head back to the forever silent apartment of his. After waving goodbye to the last student and her mother the teacher made his way back to the teacher’s room fetching his things.
“Hyung, do you want to join us to the new barbecue restaurant in the neighborhood?” a cheerful voice asked before Hyukjae was able to leave the room.
Turning around the offered man smiled sweetly while shaking his head slowly. “Nah, I don’t really feel like eating out today. But have fun you guys!”
Frowning the younger employee mumbled “You never feel like doing anything with us.” After that he turned toward the other teachers telling them that they all should get going.
Nodding they all said their goodbyes and left the building, everyone going in one direction except the party-pooper Hyukjae.
Walking down the road back to his apartment, the kindergarten teacher made a quick stop at the local convenient store buying the daily dose of his adored cold sweet and the ingredients needed to make this evening’s dinner. After buying everything he had in mind the man started to make his way back to the apartment complex.
