Ch. [15]
Rain of Blades“Seems like we have a winner.” Hyukjae looked down at his wound. There was nothing in there. He looked at Kyuhyun. Time had stopped already. He turned towards the wound he had made Kyuhyun. The taller was smiling softly, proudly, as if it was him the one who was winning.
“It’s not the trophy what I want.” Hyukjae looked at his hands. They were trembling and the color was slowly starting to change. “It’s not the trophy what I want.” Then, what is it Kyuhyun wanted?
Kyuhyun was bleeding and Hyukjae had nothing but a simple dot on his abdomen that slowly started growing. He started to panic. “Seems like we have a winner.”
Hyukjae was confused. What exactly did Kyuhyun want?
Hyukjae opened his eyes and looked around. He was in his room already and it was dark. The air felt cold, even when it was still spring. He looked towards the window and found out they were opened. He didn’t even make the effort to go and close them because he was still confused. Why was he dreaming that?
Of course, now Hyukjae could understand what was happening.
For Kyuhyun, winning and getting the trophy was two different things.
Hyukjae had never thought about it before.
Kyuhyun’s goal wasn’t to get the trophy, was to get him.
Standing up from his bed slowly, Hyukjae finally realized he somehow had been moved to his own dorm and the last thing he remembers was Kyuhyun and him bickering about his sister. He closed his eyes and breathed in and out deeply, trying to calm himself. Kyuhyun knew nothing about his family. He had no idea how much they had suffered because of the Cho’s. That’s why he was so naïve.
Hyukjae finally stood up, feeling slightly dizzy but trying to ignore the sensation and just walk to the bathroom. He needed a cold shower to get his head clear.
Giving just a few steps, Hyukjae stopped just in front of the mirror. He looked exhausted, even when he had slept for almost a whole week. He wondered how Kyuhyun was doing. He looked in pain, the last time he saw him, and he was still wounded.
“I don’t care,” he tried to convince himself, sighing softly before getting rid of his shirt, throwing it away carelessly.
He gasped loudly, covering his mouth with his hand as he saw his abdomen already filled with the dark stain. He turned around and saw his back was started to get tainted as well. His heart was starting to beat faster than before, making him feel anxious. The image the mirror was giving him was getting worst as he took notice of his hands.
Squinting his eyes to see, Hyukjae noticed small dots on his fingertips, adorning his pale skin. He had the sudden urge to cry. Was he going to die like that? Was Kyuhyun going to use him?
It was obvious that Cho had him completely under control. If Hyukjae had told his father, or anyone else from the family about that, he would be dead by then. No one would allow a Lee to be in such degrading state.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Hyukjae gasped once more as he turned around, only to find Kyuhyun just a step away from him, smiling.
“What are you doing here?” Hyukjae asked, trying to hide the terror he was feeling inside.
“I wanted to see it again,” Kyuhyun smiled, looking at the dark stains that adorned Hyukjae’s skin.
Hyukjae didn’t say anything as he took one of his hands back to gently touch his belt. He found a small dagger he always carried around with him and in just a second, he had already attacked Kyuhyun, aiming for his throat or anything that would make Kyuhyun weak enough to defend himself.
Kyuhyun was too fast. He was prepared to hold his arm as soon as he raised it to attack and Hyukjae, for the very first time of his life, felt powerless.
The taller frowned and pushed him against the window. Hyukjae could swear the other was going to kill him right there. “You want to get rid of it?” Kyuhyun asked dangerously, holding onto Hyukjae’s wrist firmly, making him let go of the dagger he was holding.
Hyukjae was scared. He remembered his stained skin and thought about killing himself just to save the family’s honor.
“Don’t be afraid,” Kyuhyun said. His face was too close to his, one of his hands was holding his wrist up against the mirror just by Hyukjae’s head side and the other was slowly crawling up along the stain on Hyukjae’s abdomen. “I’m not here to hurt you,” the other said, sighing softly.
“Just kill me if that’s what you want,” Hyukjae said lowly, looking directly into Kyuhyun’s eyes.
Kyuhyun looked up and smiled as he found Hyukjae’s eyes. “I just wanted to admire it,” he admitted, looking down once more to his fingertips, tracing t
