[ 02: BONDING ]

[ CA-23 ]
[12.03.2015]
Hyerin absent-mindedly tapped the white desk of the interview room, each gentel tick breaking the white noise of the brightly lit room. Looking around the room, she still found the door tightly shut. Then at the mute clock  above her; the girl should have come right now.

Just as Hyeri turned back, the door gently swung open, revealing a girl. Hyerin knew from the gir;'s short hair and doe-eyed feaetures that she was supposed to be interviewed today. Hyerin instanteously rose up and shook the girls' hand.

"I was told that you came from an accompaniment of the police force," the girl said, her voice timid. "is it true?"

"The purpose remains the same, hence the question doesn't have a valid doubt either." Hyerin said, spinning her pen. Looking down on the profile paper, she realized that her name is Kim Jiho.

"I'll begin the questioning now. As a witness to Kim Rohee and Gyeon Kinam's disappearance, can you explain whatyou haves seen?" Hyerin's voice sounded much different than usual; it was much sharper and rang clear at teh quiet room.

"There was a—well, something... dark, engulfing both of them,"Jiho said. Hyerin noticed blue mists started surrounding Jiho's body, although she'd said nothing. "and then I heard screams from the girl, so I ran away."

Hyerin was intently writing them out before Jiho completely stppped. Hyerin suddenly noticed an oddity at the results. "What do you mean when only the girl screamed?"

"It is. The last time I turned back, I could still spot the girl, and she seemed to be very stressed about the whole ordeal. She was physcially fighting them, if I'm not mistaken."

"How about the boy?"

"I couldn't see him at all." Jiho sighed, hands still placed at her lap. Hyerin noticed the blue mists became thicker as it flew past heer. Noticing the increasing air tension, Hyerin said, "Alright, thank you very much.  You may go now."

The blue mists instantly dissipates.

Snaps of reporter's cameras drowned out Hyosung's as people crowded the crime scene. Yellow tapes surrounding the patch of concrete was the only thing allowing her to get a closer look. Even then, she still need the police badge to enter. Another man was next to her as he was busy sketching the area. The  hours kept on ticking, but just as the high noon started rising, Hyosung was done.

As she finishes, she recognized that Jookyung was talking with someone as she approached them. Just as Jookyung noticed her, the two bid their goodbyes. The man took a glance at her, and gave her an acknowledging nod. As they both walked to the car, far from other reporters, Hyosung took off the suit and put it in a plastic bag.

"I didn't know that crime scenes can be pretty complicated," Jookyung mused.

"Well, it's by the protocol, you can't break rules," Hyosung said. "you're not familiar?"

"Obviously I'm familiar in giving you no work to do back when we never met each other," Jookyung snorted. Hyosung frowned, almost opening to retort, but shuffled back to seeing the scenery of glowing sun reflected at the sandy beaches. Everything looked much more inviting if she hadn't went for a heavy purpose. "but still, it's a really cool job."

Hyosung only took a quick look at Jookyung, who still had an unreadable expression as he gently turned the steering wheel. Glancing back at her plastic bag, she asked, "Whom did you talk with just now?"

"An epsionage guy." Jookyung absently said.

"What di he say?"

"He asked me to bring the evidence to pathology lab, and then he also said that news of the two victims' disappearance started going out to several broadcast stations, so we need to be careful."  Jookyung said.

"Would the public knew about this?" Hyosung looked on worriedly. The car became increasingly fast-paced as they entered the highway.

"Not that they would think that this is a big type of kidnappings if nothing happened. If," Jookyung said.

A shudder went down Hyosung's spine, remembering too well of the taped concrete. Almost nothing—nothing is there, almost spotless if it hadn't been for spotted fingerprints and crimson spots at the baywalk patch.

"But there's almost nothing but fingerprints and bits of dried blood," Hyosung said. "if there is truly a scuffle and the victim is still missing, wouldn't you think that the kidnapper wanted something to do with both of them?"

"Not really, but that's the most possible scenario, right?" Jookyung remarked. "But it looked so different with the previous attack, though."

Hyosung gulped and leaned back to her chair. The two quietly drove by Johak's pathology laboratory. "Wait here." Jookyung said.

Hyosung saw Jookyung carried a box inside, and then heard the sound of shuttering metal. "Where did you put it?"

"Well, it's by the protocol, you can't break rules. You're not familiar?" Jookyung said, and although his face is covered with white mask, she swore she could see he had a mischevious glint in his eyes. Hyosung only shook her head as she tried not to smile.

"You didn't like school too much, didn't you?" Sejoon asked, walking down the corridor. Hyerin had left much earlier and met up with Jisung.

"Well... mostly not," Jisung groaned, looking rather unhappy with his Math scores. For once, a 70 in Maths is a miracle, but he couldn't help but frown when he felt he'd done much better than that.

"Well, on the other hand, if you do want to be a basketball player, you wouldn't need those scores," Sejoon shrugged. "but I felt it would be a waste if knowing you're much smarter than you think."

"Einstein was a classic drop-out too." Jisung pouted.

"Yeah, but he invented relativity, so he wasn't a good example." Sejoon hummed. Just as Jisung was going to reply back to him, a young woman approached them. When she looked up, Jisung swore that he could see Sejoon grinning back at her for a quick moment.

"Sejoon," the girl said, her voice just as sharp, if not more, than Sejoon.

"Miho! Haven't seen you that long," Sejoon widened his arms as he approached her, but Miho quickly took a jab at his ribs.

"Got enrolled in a different hour log, new people, new tasks," Miho calmly looked as Sejoon bent over in pain. "but now I'm moved back to the old schedule."

"Good for you," Sejoon said. "what kind of task?"

"Yours," Miho said. Jisung tilt his head, staring at the older girl.

"What do you mean?" Sejoon said, now standing with slightly widened by eyes.

Miho looked around, and suddenly pulled Sejoon's wrist and went to a secluded corner of the corridor as Jisung follows. "Listen, I know you guys are in Headmaster's new project. And guess who's helping the designs of vehicles and weapons? Me."

"So you're kinda like Q in James Bond movies," Jisung said, looking at Miho. "More like the gadget makers, but I suppose so."

"Then who would be the James Bond?" Jisung asked. Miho's usually neutral, unreactive face suddenly went bewildered when she noticed Jisung's spark of mischief. With annoyance, she said, "Obviously, anoyone whom I worked with is the James Bond."

"Yeah, but some James Bond are probably better than the others," Jisung lifted his shoulders, still grinning. Miho shrugged, although she looked even more dismayed when Jisung said that, "I need no man for the kind of job I had, boy. I'd love to stay with you guys, but now's not really a good time. Goodbye."

As Miho left, Jisung found a frowning Sejoon. "Let's get back to the dorms, you must be tired." Sejoon said, walking towards the backdoor.

"Results from pathology lab is out, said that the blood matched the identification of Kim Rohee. The shreds of clothing also came from her," Hyosung said.

All eight of them are currently in the living room of the boys' dorm, waiting while the heavy scent of cream cheese and tomato sauce from pizza lingered and mixed with the pungent smell of cologne. Hani swore that her nose is dying, but Iseul next to her still focused on her laptop. After the Yuri fiasco, her task ended up being delayed for the day until tomorrow. Hearing the words of Hyosung only made her groan; CA-23 sounded less productive than it really needs to be.

"Nothing on Gyeon Kinam? That sounded suspicious," Sejoon added, running downstairs. Hani didn't want to look at him when he didn't have any shirt on him at all; she knew well what type of person Sejoon is, but she couldn't help but felt her cheeks flush at the thought.

"With the exception that the missing report and witness accounts appearing at a near interval, nothing on them seems to scream that Gyeon Kinam was even there. Sejoon, wear your shirt." Jookyung said, sitting next to Hyosung as he looked intently at the spread out photos.

"I didn't believe you just saw me that way," Sejoon grumbled, but he still pulled over the nearest shirt he could grab. "I'm borrowing your shirt then."

Jookyung couldn't help but heave a sigh. At least Hani wasn't grumbling. He walked closer to Iseul, who had a video displayed at its screen. Then, it came to him that it was the footage of the crime scene.

"Nothing?" Jookyung said.

"Someone deleted footage." Iseul grumbled.

"Try the IP of anyone accessing the footage," Jookyung said. When Iseul started typing again, Jookyung's phone vibrated from his pocket. As he looked at the phone, his face looked increasingly dismayed. The rest grew silent as he approached Wooyoung and Hyosung as he showed them his phone.

"Two more reports from the same school in Busan, and they both had the same 'bite' mark like the two victims we had," Wooyoung said, groaning. "they're definitely crucial in this case. We should've gone there sooner."

Ignoring Wooyoung's last remark, Hyosung said, "Today, the discussion will end now, prepare and get some beauty sleep before getting up and prepare at four a.m. We're taking a train and will be arriving there at seven."

"Busan?" Jisung perked up. "Can we visit my family's restaurant too there?"

"Time will tell," Hyosung said, closing her laptop. "but for now, good night."
notes : Plans about any kinds of any updating; preferably twice a week (since I will be free this Monday), so by the end of this month we have (hopefully) six chapters before I went on hiatus early December. At the end of the year, 12 chapters. There goes the supporting character Cho Miho! (also their current engineer).

Question #1: If CA-23 took MBTI tests, what would they be? I still felt that most are Introverts and a bigger ratio of Thinkers.
Question #2 : specifically to danidad123 and taemeilin_, since both of you are not part of the main cast, and while I do have plans for your characters, I'd like to get an opinion on what kind of role you wanted from them? Or job?
Like this story? Give it an Upvote!
Thank you!

Chapter 66: Oof I came back after taking a long hiatus for the sake of my mental health (aaand forgetting my password in the mean time :'D) as always, I love your updates and your writing is very special in a way, like it's not meant to be understood by everyone yet that's what keeps me going. (I'm Jisung's applicant, btw)

So sorry for the inactivity! I'm kinda interested in reapplying for the other team.

Chapter 66: It's cool to see all the boys interact with each other and Jisung is such a kid xD I love it. I also like the cool thing about his dad having similar powers!! That was really interesting to read about. I'm excited to see what this new evidence of the case brings and how the new team will affect the story :D
