Chapter 11
MAMACITA: Secrets of San Mar ValleyWhile MinJi and Kyuhyun's relationship blossoms, Sungah realizes Ryeowook is avoiding her.
MAMACITA
Jealousy:
Victoria tried her best to ignore it, but they were all over each other all the time and it was disgusting. All day she had to deal with watching Eunhyuk fawn over Missy and stick to her like glue. It wasn't even like they had any meaningful conversations. All they did was giggle at each other and kiss to the point where they should go somewhere a little more private.
For the past hour, Victoria was trying to get some work done and help choreograph Eunhyuk's next show out in the arena. Everything was going fine until Missy came prancing in looking for his attention. She couldn't find anyone else? Victoria rolled her eyes as she watched them put their open mouths on each other again like she wasn't even there. She realized Eunhyuk wouldn't care if she left and never came back. He had his little dear Missy to make him happy anyway.
"Eunhyuk, I have something to tell you." Victoria approached Eunhyuk who was too busy making out with Missy to listen. "I'm not working for you anymore. I quit."
Was he still not paying attention? And was it really necessary to kiss someone so intensely in public?
"Eunhyuk! You're not hearing a word I'm saying are you?" Victoria crossed her arms over her chest. "Damn it, Eunhyuk! Can you stop face with her for two damn seconds and listen to me for once?"
"What, Victoria? What?" Eunhyuk finally pulled his mouth away from Missy. "Don't worry, I'm listening."
"Really. Then what did I just say?"
"Umm...Something?" He said with that dumbfounded look on his stupid face, "You-You definitely said something."
"I guess I proved my point then." Victoria nodded her head. "Have a nice life!"
"Wait, Victoria! Where are you going?" Eunhyuk stood.
"She said she's quitting or whatever," Missy said as she played with a piece of her stray platinum hair.
"What? No!" Eunhyuk looked at Missy and then out to Victoria who was still leaving. "She can't just leave me like this!"
"Why do you care?" Missy glared.
"Because I-" Eunhyuk stopped mid-sentence. Why did he care exactly? "Just stay out of this, okay?"
"Whatever. She was nothing but a third wheel anyway." He didn't know why, but hearing Missy say that awakened something inside of him. He looked at her and suddenly was no longer affected by her outward beauty. He felt like his head was finally thinking clearly. Missy was never nice to Victoria, or anyone for that matter, unless it was a good-looking man she wanted something from. He didn't know what compelled him to say it, but he knew he wasn't going back on it.
"You know what, Missy?" He said, "Whatever we had going on, it's over."
"And again I'll say, whatever." Missy stood and adjusted her bun. Was her tone always so stuck up and-dare he say it-snotty? "I have plenty of other offers around here that are way better than you anyway."
Under any other circumstance, her words would've hurt his feelings. He either had enough practice being ridiculed by Kyuhyun to not care or he realized he never felt a thing for her. Either way, he wasn't going to waste his time giving a damn. He only cared about how one person thought of him and it wasn't Missy.
"Victoria!" Eunhyuk called out. He ran in a clumsy fashion, tripping over his own feet along the way to catch up to her. "Victoria, can you stop walking away for a minute? Please?"
"Why should I?" Victoria snapped, not stopping to look back at him. "I don't want to get in the way of whatever you have with that . Not anymore."
"Missy and I don't have anything, I swear! I just ended it."
"Doesn't change the fact that I'm quitting," said Victoria, "So stop following me."
"Why do you want to leave? Talk to me for once." Eunhyuk finally caught up to her once they reached the arena's entrance. His statement made her sharply turn around to face him.
"I always try talking to you, but you never listen! You don't appreciate anything I do for you!" Victoria shouted, "You're always too busy with Missy or whatever else you do with your life. I'm tired of feeling like I'm not important."
"Are you, umm, jealous of Missy?"
"Yes, Eunhyuk!" The grin on Victoria's face frightened him. She looked like she finally cracked and was going to have a meltdown. She said it like it was meant to be so obvious. Why wasn't it until now? "I'm jealous of Missy! Thank you for finally realizing that!"
"But if you're jealous of Missy, then that means-"
"Means what? That I like you?" Victoria couldn't believe she was admitting it. She also couldn't believe it took him this long to realize it. Kyuhyun always did say Eunhyuk's head was always a few points short. She frowned, feeling somewhat embarrassed for the truth being laid out like this, "I did. For a long time."
"How was I supposed to know that?" Eunhyuk gasped a little. "We've been friends since I got here. I thought you always assisted me out of friendship and now, you feel more for me?"
"I don't think it matters now."
"Yes, it does, because I want you to stay. You don't have to quit and I don't want you to. I'm sorry for taking you for granted all the time."
"Are you just saying that because you feel pity on me?" Victoria asked, "Or because you feel the same way?"
"I do like you, Victoria." Eunhyuk was surprised that he said it. He didn't realize he felt the way he did until he said it. The shocked look on his face said it all.
"You do? Really?" She didn't think he would say that in a million years.
"Yes, I do. You're my best friend and you've always been there for me. I don't want you to leave me."
"Then why do you keep secrets from me?"
"What do you mean?"
"Where do you go at night?" said Victoria, "Why does Cho Kyuhyun get mad and slap you around all the time? Everything that's been going on in this town lately, are you a part of it? Don't act like I haven't noticed."
He had no idea how to answer that. He was sworn to secrecy and he didn't want to risk involving her in any of it. It was too dangerous and he knew Kyuhyun would chew him out if he said anything to an outsider without his permission.
"Victoria, you have to trust me on this. If I was allowed to tell you, I would." Eunhyuk gently held her shoulders. He wasn't usually the type to get serious like this. It surprised her, but not enough to get over the fact he wasn't answering her questions, "I can't tell you, at least not right now. I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry, too." Victoria bit her lip and removed his hands. "You never appreciated me, and you still don't. If you did, then you wouldn't keep secrets like that from me. Friends, or whatever the hell we are, trust each other. When you're ready, you let me know. But until then, I still quit."
She didn't wait for him to respond. She left him standing there to think about what she had said. As she walked, she saw Kim Sungah outside Ryeowook's shop, and the door was locked so no one could enter.
__
"So, Oh MinJi." Kyuhyun had his arm around MinJi's shoulders while lying in his bed with her. After their little encounter at the railroad tracks that previous night, he wasted no time bringing her back to his home so they could become even better "acquainted", "Is there anything else you want to know about me?"
MinJi giggled, her fingers gently his scarred chest. "I don't know. I'm pretty sure I've seen enough of you."
"That's true. You've seen all of me, and I have most definitely seen all of you." Kyuhyun smirked, letting his hands wander where they wanted.
"Kyu, stop it." MinJi laughed and blushed like an idiot. "I need to rest a little bit. We've been at it all night."
"You're no fun." Kyuhyun pouted playfully. He kissed the top of her head and then sat up to put his pants on, "You're still coming to yours and Ryeowook's training today, right?"
"Of course," MinJi replied, sitting up as well but covering herself with Kyuhyun's bed sheet. "But I don't think Ryeowook is coming."
"Why wouldn't he?"
"I think he's going through a tough time after what happened yesterday."
"What? Ryeowook's fine. He always is," Kyuhyun replied, "I wouldn't worry about it."
Kyuhyun went to go fix his hair in the mirror. It finally dried after soaking out in the rain, so it was incredibly messy. He already figured what MinJi was talking about. It wasn't only the events with Donghae and Shindong Ryeowook was shaken up about. It was about Sungah, when was it not?
"He has nothing to worry about with me and Sungah." He said aloud.
"You have to tell him that, not me," said MinJi.
"Sungah sees him all the time now. She'll explain it to him and he'll understand. She's better at talking to him than anyone. Which is really saying something." Kyuhyun turned back around and laid back on the bed, hovering over her. "It's like I said. There's nothing to worry about."
"Okay, I trust you." MinJi lifted her head and kissed him.
