i hate how layouts are required now rather than the actual story-line itself. it's one thing to make it neat, but it's an entirely different thing when you have to use an actual pre-made layout to get people interested. what happened to finding the actual idea and writing interesting?

To my fellow applyfic authors who reject apps due to contradicting personality traits, I say you need to expand your skill set and broaden your writing abilities. Humans are living and breathing oxymorons, contradicting ourselves left and right. It would only make sense for characters to like this. Sure, it a perfect world a person wouldn't be both shy and bubbly when around friends, but humans are conventional and act on emotions. A character could be both shy when wanting to hide their true feelings, but be bubbly when it is expected of them. Try not to be close minded and try to help yourself become better at characterization and writing.
