Breaking Down
Behind the Mask [Bangtan]It was raining. Fitting, Mallory thought, as she ran towards the Big Hit building that BTS lived in. The rain would hide her tears. Suga was already waiting for her on the ground floor of the building, holding the door opened as she ran towards him, umbrella-less, jacket-less, and sopping wet.
She ran directly into his arms. “Yoongi-” She choked out.
His arms were wrapped around her in an instant, and he gently swayed with her. “It’s okay, calm down, you’re alright.” He cooed. “You’re going to be alright Mallory.” She was still sobbing, hard enough for her entire frame to shake. “What’s wrong?” She let out another strangled sob. “Okay, let’s get inside, and get you something not wet to wear,” He said, leading her towards the elevator.
The entire elevator ride, Mallory clung onto Suga, sobbing incredibly loud, while he stood with his back against the elevator wall, his arms wrapped around her, and his eyes closed. When the elevator opened, Mallory sobered, wiping her tears away and walking tall towards the dorm room. She didn’t want the others to see her cry.
Suga opened the door for her and moved inside. “Mallory’s here,” He said flatly, and a few of the boys leapt up to pick up the things they’d left on the floor, or lying around. Suga lead Mallory towards the bedroom, which was currently occupied by a half asleep V and a comic reading Jungkook. “Out,” He said sharply, and both boys gave him annoyed looks, but eventually moved out of the room.
Suga offered Mallory one of his sweatshirts. She took it, dropping it on the single bed that wasn’t a bunk, and tearing her shirt over her head. Suga didn’t even flinch at the sight of her shirtless. She pulled on the sweater and shivered a little. “What happened?”
“Zhen,” She said, struggling to speak.
Suga bit his lip. “We have practice in a few, but I think I can swing not going today. I’ll say I’m not feeling well.”
Mallory sighed. “Zhen plans on telling Jungkook when he’s at practice anyways.” She looked down. “Said it would be easier if he wasn’t alone afterwards.”
Suga took her hand in his. “You need to tell me what happened.” She nodded, and he jerked his head, gesturing behind him. “Want to sit down?” He asked, and she nodded again, so he climbed up the ladder to his bunk, and Mallory followed close behind.
When they had sat down and settled in, she in a breath. “Zhen is leaving the country and doesn’t plan to come back unless she has to visit.” By the end of the sentence, which she spit out faster than Suga had thought possible, she began to sob again.
“Oh,” Suga said, scooting forward and pulling her towards him so her head rested on his shoulder. “Mallory you need to calm down, you’re going to make yourself sick.”
She sobbed harder. “My best friend is leaving me, Yoongi! What am I supposed to do? Sit idly by and watch?” She in a shaky breath. “I don’t know what I’m going to do without her.” Another sob. “It felt like it was only yesterday that it was just me and her, modeling and blogging together-”
“Blogging?” Suga asked.
Mallory looked up at him, and her stomach feel. Dammit, why did he have to be so easy to talk to. “There are some things we need to talk about, but right now, I just want to cry and be a child, okay?”
He nodded. “Promise we’ll talk about it though?” She nodded. “Lay with me,” He said, moving to the side.
And so she did. They lay together, tangled in one giant knot, and Mallory tried to collect herself. Suga didn’t say anything, unless she asked a question, but he did comfort her, her hair, kissing her cheeks, hugging her so close she could feel his heartbeat.
After hours and hours of them just laying together, Suga finally asked, “So what is this about a blog?”
Mallory bit the inside of her lip and looked up at him. “You’re going to be mad.”
“Just tell me.”
She sighed, pulling away from him a bit. “You know the Underground Communique?” She asked, still biting her lip, so hard she was sure she’d break skin. He nodded. “Well, you guys were right. I’m Shadow Penman. Zhen is Midnight Captures, and Song Yi is our spo
