Fashion Show Pt. 1
Behind the Mask [Bangtan]Zhen had just finished putting on her black, lace up bootie heels when the gate buzzer sounded. “That should be Mallory!” Zhen called, straightening her see-through chiffon skirt. She wore a white chiffon shirt with spiked rhinestone shoulder pads, tucked into a black chiffon skirt. The actual mini skirt was a solid black, but the chiffon overlay was see through, showing almost all of her legs. Of course, she wore black fingerless gloves, and had pulled her hair into a high ponytail. Zhen wasn’t entirely sure it would work for the fashion show, but it was what she had.
Satisfied that it wouldn’t get any better, Zhen pulled open her door and hurried down the stairs to where Cho Hee and Mallory stood talking. Mallory turned to Zhen and smiled. “You look cute.” She said, eying Zhen’s outfit. Mallory wore a pale pink chiffon dress that stopped high on her thighs and billowed out in a flowing way. It hugged tight to her chest and had a brilliant red bow that tied around her abdomen. She wore a pair of colored heels, which made her look at least a foot taller, and carried a sparkling clutch. Her hair had been done in a curly, messy half up half down fashion, and when she turned towards Zhen, her hair glittered in the light. Her red lipstick matched the color of her ribbon. “Are you ready to go?”
Zhen nodded and turned to Cho Hee. “I shouldn’t be gone too late.”
Cho Hee nodded. “Don’t hurry back,” She said smiling. “But Dae Hyun and I wanted to speak to you about a few things when you got home. Nothing bad, of course.” She smiled brightly. “Have a nice day girls.”
Zhen walked to Mallory’s side and the two moved out of the house. “Are you excited?” Mallory asked, smiling to Zhen, who made a face. “To see Jungkook of course! Yoongi called me the other day wondering who Jun Hyun was, and Jungkook shouted about it and then stole the phone and told me not to worry about it, because he wasn’t. So that means something happened between the two of you, and seeing you with Jun Hyun pissed him off. And I seriously doubt you’ve seen him since school that day, so,” She smirked, unlocking her car. “Are you excited?”
Zhen made a face. “I was until you brought all that up.”
“Sorry,” Mallory sighed, climbing into the car and starting it up. “I just need something to take my mind off Claude.”
“I take it that’s your brother’s boss?” She nodded and Zhen smiled, buckling herself in and sitting back. As Mallory pulled onto the street, Zhen started thinking of things to say to Jungkook. But what was there to possibly say? Sorry that after you canceled on me, I went out with my older friend, who totally could pass as my boyfriend if you looked at us the wrong way? No, that would probably piss him off even more. Who knew if he even was pissed off, he might have just been wondering.
She sighed and turned towards the window. “This is going to be a long day.”
“You said it.” Mallory said, nodding her head.
Jungkook stood beside the car that he and the others were taking to Mallory’s event, straightening his bow tie in the out windows. “Did we really have to wear these?” He asked, gesturing to his maroon tuxedo. They’d worn them before, to other events, but he didn’t think this was a formal fashion show.
J-Hope wrapped his arm around Jungkook’s shoulder and smiled at him. “Of course we do! We have to make good impressions, right? Also, it is a black tie event. I checked.” He said, winking at his younger bandmate before climbing into the car.
Jungkook frowned and followed his hyungs, climbing into the back seat and buckling himself in. “It just seems… weird.”
“Well, we’d look way weirder if we showed up in jeans and sweaters, and were sat next to celebrities in tuxedos and gowns.” Jin offered, tugging on his own tuxedo jacket uncomfortably.
Jungkook sighed. “Do you think Mallory is going to be dressed up like this?”
“No,” V said, shaking his head. “I think she’ll most definitely wear a dress, not a tux.”
“No kidding,” Jimin said, pushing his friend’s arm. “Of course she will, and so will Jin Ae.”
Jungkook’s stomach plummeted. He hadn’t really talked to her since he cancelled on her. “Jin’s going to be there?” He asked, shrinking into his seat a little.
Suga looked over his seat at Jungkook and smirked. “Don’t tell me that you don’t want to see her, after the fuss you made about her hanging out with her brother.”
“He wasn’t her brother, and I didn’t make a fuss, you did.” Jungkook said, flicking the top of Suga’s snap back. For a formal event, his accessories probably weren’t appropriate. He wore a leather black snap back, and a diamond earring in each and every hole on his ears. To top it all off, his shoes looked like street shoes, not formal shoes.
Jungkook had honestly been the odd one out in his tuxedo. He was the only one wearing a bow tie, all his hyungs wore ties, and he was the only one whose tux jacket had a black collar, while everyone elses matched their tuxes. He assumed there was a reason their stylist dressed him like that, but at the moment, he didn’t know what it was.
“Mallory says she’ll meet us out front, near where the interviews are being held.” Jimin said, looking down at his phone.
