At the movie house

What will we watch Pei? Asked them.  I think romance is quite good, I heard there’s a new movie the fault in our stars, it think its good some said so Jane said It talks about friendship and struggles of  a lovers both suffering from cancer and death of love once. It’s a novel adaptation of John Green.

Pei; so guys what do u think?

Jane: hey guys, is it okay to watch it?

Pie: yeah sure

Nerd: Nods

Jane: how about you Kim?

Kim: Anything it’s up to you guys.

Pei: Okay then I love romance, so let’s buy the ticket. Kim please buy the ticket for us since you’re already near the ticket booth and will just buy popcorns and drinks for us.

Kim: Okay sure.

At the ticket booth

Lady: Good afternoon. What can I do for you?

Kim: Hi, 5 tickets for the fault in our stars please. (The lady smiled at Kim)

(Kim smiled back to her).

Jane saw it she got annoyed and approach the ticket booth.

Jane: hey Kim are you done?

Kim: hmmm… just waiting for the tickets.

Lady: here is your ticket sir.  (Smiling at Kim) Jane quickly grab the ticket

That’s 550 sir. Jane grab the money from Kim’s hand and gave it to the lady.

Jane: Keep the change.

Kim: thank you she said. (Then she smiled to the lady and the lady smiled back in return.) Pei, Nerd and Pie saw the whole scenario.

Pei: looks like we have a heartthrob here eh…

Jane looked at Pei and raised her eyebrows.

Pei: Eiii, what’s with that I’m just admiring Kim’s charisma. Right Kim?

Kim: It’s nothing Pei stop teasing. (Then she scratch her neck & Nerd and Pie jut looked at them)

Pei: Okay if you say so kimmy… (Then chuckled)

They all went inside the cinema.  

Inside the cinema

Sitting arrangements Pei, Nerd, Jane, Kim and Pie the lights suddenly turned off as they are about to seat. The theater was filled with the shouting sounds of the audience. Suddenly Pei shouted as he was excited for the movie.

Jane, Pie and Nerd looked at her shhhhhh… they said all together while Kim was in her reverie, reminiscing her childhood with her best friend Yam they never left each other since. Jane notice it and she wave her hands in front of Kim.

Jane: Hey Kim are you alright?

Kim: uhm yeah, why?

Jane: It’s just that you’re always Pei cuts her off…

Pei: hey kimmy thinking of your special someone ha?

Kim: Hmmm… Pei? crossed eyebrows

 (Nerd elbowed him.)

Pei: Nothing I’m saying that you are special then he grin to Nerd.

Nerd observed them and sighed. Then turn her attention to the screen. Little did they know Pie was glancing at them and ear dropping to the conversation that Kim and Jane are having. As the movie continues to play the surroundings becomes silence as the audience were drifted by the movies they are watching.

Pie: what’s happening to Kim she’s been like that since she found that book, does it remind her of someone? Maybe Pei is right she has someone special she though. I wonder if it’s a boy or a girl, you need to find out Pie you really need to as she looked at Kim and murmured to herself.

All of them continue to watch the movie, Kim is now focusing at the movie and sharing popcorn with Jane. She temporarily forgets her longingness for her best friend because she was touch by the movie. The story touched their hearts suddenly she heard someone sobbing beside her, she looks to her left it wasn’t Jane then she looked to the right she saw Pie’s eyes were teary so she tried to comfort her.

Pie’s POV

I was watching the movie when suddenly I saw Kim staring blankly as if she’s thinking something. Jane notice it also and she waved her hand in front of her to get her attention. As they were talking Pei cuts her off asking if she’s thinking of someone special. Instead of answering she just crossed her eyebrows. I wonder why? I remembered something at the bookstore she was uneasy as she stares at the book that she got from a shelf. After my thought I diverted my attention back to the movie as the movie goes on my eyes felt teary as Augustus Waters and Hazel had a serious conversation as he, stated to her that” It’s about embracing your destiny and living a mark on the world.” I suddenly realized that the world is really unfair as I remember how my grandma suffered from cancer and still manage to help others by giving social classes. As I sobs Kim turn her head from side to side as she looks for someone, maybe she heard me sobbing as I wipe my tears she suddenly spoke. “Apparently life is unfair we never know where we are bound to as time goes on.” And she smiled at me she give me her handkerchief. At first I was hesitating to get the hanky from her but my hand suddenly moved by its own and get it from her hand as our palms touch. I felt something like an electric shock or spark or something I don’t know but my heart suddenly pounded fast.

After few minutes more the movie ended and they went out of the cinema, as usual Pei is over dramatic faking a cry and embracing Kim’s hands and Kim just sighed because of Pei actions. Kim he said as he still clinging at Kim’s hand.

Kim: Hmmm… Kim answered focusing on walking out the cinema. For it’s a bit crowded as the people started to go out of the cinema as the movie had just ended. As they reach outside, Pei wanted to say something but suddenly cuts off by Pie.

Pei: Kim, if you were Augustus what will, then Pie cuts him off.

Pie: Pei you know I am sometimes confused about you are really a gay or a guy? Ha?

Pei: excuse me Pie but I’m the most beautiful here you know and I’m a GIRLLLLLLLLLLLLL… he said emphasizing the word as he rolled his eyes to Pie.

Pie: Oh really why are you clinging on Kim then? Pie asked sarcastically.

Pei: Well she looks like a guy that why, am I right handsome?

Kim: uhmmm… (She stares at Jane, Pie then at Nerd with puppy eyes as if begging for help).

Jane suddenly approach Pei and grab his hand from Kim’s hand and put it in her shoulder. Kim sighed because of that and smiled at Jane, she felt relief.

As they walked Nerd suddenly spoke. She said “Certain things in life simply have to be experience and never explained. Love is such a thing.” (By Paulo Coelho) Then all of them stopped and looked at Nerd then laughs.
