As soon as Kris wrapped his arms around Jieun, she couldn't help but freeze in place. Sure, Jieun has interacted with men before and she’s gone on a couple of dates, but she's never really come into physical contact with any. You'd think, especially coming from her field of work in the company. Nope, Jieun was just as awkward as the next person.

Not knowing what to do, Jieun gently pushes away from Kris with a tint of pink on her cheeks. Kris looks down at her and let go of her before putting his suit jacket over her head to protect her from the rain. "I told you to be careful..." Kris sighs softly and pulls her back inside of the lighthouse.

"You're soaking wet!" She looks at him worriedly, taking off his jacket from her head. Kris simply waved her off and said it was fine and pushed his hair out of his face. "How did you find me?" She asks, now finally realizing that she told no one of her plans and ran off before he could follow her from the lobby. "And don't you have a gala to be at?" She frowns.

"That gala is just a dinner meant for my parents and their stuck up friends." He sighs and wrings his shirt out that was completely drenched from the rain. "It's just a bunch of rich people flaunting their wealth and looking down on others, thinking they are better than the rest." Kris looks at Jieun, remember what that one guest has said to her. "I'm sorry about earlier. I wanted to apologize earlier but you left." Jieun looked up to meet his gaze, sighing when she knew that he was being sincere.

"You didn't answer my question, how did you find me?" Jieun grinned, knowing that was the same thing he had asked her yesterday. Kris couldn't help but smile, looking back at her. "Why is it that I happen to always run into you?" She raises a brow and starts heading down the tower, Kris following right behind her.

"I believe that it was fate that we keep meeting each other and I found you because you were talking about your plans out loud after you left the balcony. You are very loud for a girl your size." Kris answered, causing Jieun's cheeks to flush once more. There was a sudden crack of thunder that split through the air, causing Jieun to jump and nearly fell down the stairs if Kris had not caught her. "Careful." He murmurs, pulling her back up and moving in front of her.

Jieun remains quiet, pulling Kris's jacket closer around her. "Kris..." She started, hesitating for a bit. "I don't get why you're here. You should have stayed at that gala. I'm pretty sure your family won't be pleased that you're missing." She says, getting off the last step of the staircase, shivering.

You're right. Kris paused at the door, hand on the doorknob. He lets out a deep breath and turned back to her. When he looked at her, he couldn't see the little girl anymore. Now what he saw was a girl was a girl who was barely hanging out. She was no longer like the bubbly losers in she used to be and it was all Kris and his family's fault. "I came because you interest me and I don't care about what parents think. I'm old enough to take care of myself and I can run the business perfectly fine without them. There will always be more events like that that will happen." Kris says, shrugging his shoulders. "Now come on, let's try and go back to the hotel so we can dry off and change into something warm."
