He looked at the tropical seas of Thailand. Yongguk never wants to leave the place – his place, their place; a small island not too far from Phuket, Yongguk invested so much for this sanctuary. Barring a few dozen coconut trees and unlimited scenery to adore for as long as he wanted, it still didn’t fill out the emptiness in his heart. Yongguk sighed, hoping that this time there will be a sense of completeness in him, but still, there was none.

“Sir,” one of his workers called. He was a man of well-built stature. With a full head of hair, he maintained some stubble on his upper lips and on his chin.

Yongguk remained in his position, “What is it, Lek?”

“The plane will be here shortly.” the assistant told him. “I already have your bags carried out on the boat. We should hurry since the boat ride will be long.”

“Just head on out first and I’ll be there. Thank you, Lek.”

The assistant bowed then left his boss. Yongguk waited for this worker to leave before he too took his leave. He never wanted to leave this place, but when life calls, you have to retrieve it.

“Hello mother,” Goeun greeted as she entered the home.

“Hello, how’s my soon-to-be daughter-in-law?” the woman asked, voice filled with excitement.

Goeun grinned, “Yongguk and I are meeting with our wedding planner today,” she looked around, “But it seems like he’s not home.”

“He should be back shortly from business in Thailand. You can wait here.”

She tried to keep on that fake smile, but there were times (like these) where she just didn’t want to be with her fiance’s family. Goeun didn’t dislike his family, she just disliked the idea of having her husband selected for you.

“Speak of the devil, here he is now.” Boryun stood up, wanting to greet her son with a hug. “Yongguk-ah.”

“I’m here, let's go.” he said hastily.

She gave her son a grimace expression, “Shouldn’t you go wash up first?”

“If I wash up there’s a high chance I will fall asleep right after so let’s go now while I still have the energy.” He looked at Goeun, “Let’s go, now.” he emphasized.

Goeun stood up and gave Boryun a smile, “Well I guess this is goodbye.”

“Have fun and tell me how it goes later, okay?”

“Yes mother,” Goeun bowed. Yongguk walked to the car before she did. Goeun looked behind her and saw him near the door. “Bye,” she quickly said before following suit.

Already in the car, Yongguk rested his head back and shut his eyes.

“Thanks for waiting for me,” Goeun said sarcastically.

“Where to, Madam Goeun?” the chauffeur asked.

“Uh,” Goeun looked for the card in her clutch and gave it to him, “here’s the address.”

“Thank you, Madam.”

Goeun looked at him. Noticing how he was in the ‘I’m tired, don’t talk to me’ mood, she made little conversations just to have time pass by. “Did you finally get that island settlement yet?”

“I still need to negotiate with the head islander,” he said, eyes still shut.

“That’s ridiculous!” she gasped, “it’s been 3 years, shouldn’t he give it to you already?” Goeun clutched her tongue and shook her head, “Those Thai islander sure are hard to negotiate with.”

He waved his hand wanting the conversation to stop, “My head hurts. I don’t want to talk about business.”

The couple arrived at the wedding planner's shop. “I hear this is the best wedding planner in Seoul. She's the same person that planned Lee Jinki and Moon Nayeon's extravagant wedding a while ago.” Goeun said to Yongguk.

He held the door open for her as she walked in, “Let's hope that she can make ours greater,” he said flatly.

As soon as they walked in, they were greeted by a receptionist. “Bang Yongguk and Jung Goeun, correct?”

“Yep. I'm Bang Yongguk and this is my fiance Jung Goeun.” she said with a serious tone. The receptionist's expression grew awkward in disbelief followed by a slow, trailing chuckle. Goeun grinned, “I was kidding,” she clarified.

“Oh good, hah, I knew that.” The receptionist cleared , “Just wait in her office. Ms. Im just stepped out and will be right back.” She directed them to the wedding planner's office and allowed them to sit and get comfortable.

They sat in pure silence. “Everything about this shop is so lovely.” she complimented, trying to break the silence.

Yongguk hummed in response. His phone rang and he stood up, “Duty calls.” He left the room and went to go talk elsewhere. He brushed shoulders with someone but he failed to pay attention to who it was. Like he did to Goeun, he just hummed in response to the person.

She silently hissed at the rude person but didn't let him ruin her day. She stepped into her office to greet her clients. “Sorry about that,” she apologized as she tucked her cell phone in her coat pocket, “had to console a bride with cold feet.” She sat down in her swivel chair and sighed, “Hello, I'm Im Mani and I will be your wedding planner for the next few weeks.”

Chapter 27: I hope you are feeling better. Thank you for updating. I like how Mani and Yongguk talk things out and agree for what Mani insisted- to have separate lives when they get back to Seoul. Maybe at the present, it is the safest option. But eventually, love will conquers all. And what if Im Mani got pregnant? Yongguk will never let it go for sure...
Thanks for the update :) take care and stay safe.

Chapter 26: I wonder if someone asked Yongguk's mother about Mani? Either her family or any of her friends.
While I'm glad to see the two reconnect, I want to know how Yongguk will treat his mother now that he knows the truth.
