"We'll be changing your name, though, giving you a stage name. Too many Kim Kibums. You're going to stand out."
Stand out? As what? A failure? An idiot?
They're taking away my name, my identity, getting rid of me entirely.
My looks are going to be hidden by make up and flashing lights, my style hidden by the coordinators. My voice, no one hears it anyway.
And now they're changing my name.
It's not as if the fans won't know my real name, these things leak out, and anyway, we have member profiles. But they won't be calling me by that name. They'll be calling me by something else, a different word entirely. I won't be me, anymore.
Oh, but who cares? The person I was wasn't worth knowing anyway.

Of all the names they could've picked. Jinki hyung gets a new name, but it's a Korean name. Onew.
Me? I get Key.
It feels a little like someone has just randomly flipped open an English dictionary and picked the first word that started with the letter K. Is a key not a tool used to solve problems and open up things? Keys are for helping, they are useful things. I don't think I'm worthy of that name.
But then again, keys can be used for locking things away, too. I think that's what I'm going to do.
Lock myself up, so no one can get in.
Lock up my heart, my emotions, and throw away the key.
