Silence.--
Pink , puffy eyes.
Cheeks stained with streams of tears.
And my heart, chipping with jealousy, with unhappiness.
On Jonghyun hyung's birthday, he went home. On Taemin's birthday, he did, too.
I can't. I can't because I have school in the morning and schedules afterwards, there simply isn't time to make that fifty minute drive. To make up for it, manager hyung said he'd arrange for me to have time for a long conversation home, but even that has to be in between schedules, and really, a phone call can't make up for seeing my family in person.
It's not like I'm going to talk during the call anyway.
I can imagine what the call will be like.
My parents, grandmother, crowding around the phone, asking how I am, wishing me happy birthday. And me, on the other end, silent. Quiet, crying.
I shudder. No, I don't want that.
"Kibum! There you are." Jinki hyung walks into the room. I feel his gaze on my eyes, my face. It's obvious I've cried.
"Is...is everything okay?" Coming over, he rubs my shoulder gently. "Today was a bad day for you, huh?
Jinki hyung reads me well. He knows everyone really well, can tell what anyone is feeling with a single glance. I think, that's why he's our leader. I would thank him, but I've tried, and I can't.
Instead, I just nod.
"It's because you can't go home, is it?" Again, he knows. And again, I nod. "Follow me, okay?"
