Time Bomb"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." Kibum couldn't help but let that comment slip out when he saw the guy who was holding his phone. He had no doubt it was his; the phone boasted his bright green and white chevron case and his small cat charm.
And the guy who was holding it, Kibum recognized. He rarely payed much attention to those around him, but this guy who turned out to be Jonghyun had a unique look that Kibum couldn't help but notice. That, and he worked at the cafe he was a regular at. How could he not recognize him?
But Kibum went to the cafe after their phones got switched up, which changes things a lot.
"Hello...?" Jonghyun greeted Kibum hesitantly.
Kibum raised an eyebrow at him. "That's it?"
"What do you mean?"
He's playing stupid. Kibum knew this, but brushed it off, looking away and holding out his hand. After a few awkward moments without a response, Kibum said simply, "Phone."
Jonghyun scrambled to get up and walk over to Kibum, carefully placing his phone in his hand, as if he was scared of him or something. Damn right he should be, Kibum thought, after messing with me like that.
Kibum realized that Jonghyun was still standing in front of him while he was playing around with his phone, to see if the older had messed with anything. He was scratching the back of his neck, looking a bit uncomfortable. He coughed to clear his throat before he spoke. "So look, I'm really sorry about the mix up and everything. I want to make it up to you."
No no no, I don't want anything more to do with you. "How?"
"How about dinner and a movie?" the shorter guy flashed a greasy smile. Kibum's heart skipped a beat.
Why would you bother with me? "That sounds like a date. No way."
"Coffee?" Persistent again.
"Forget about it, you don't need to do anything." Kibum turned to walk away, but the puppy boy followed him. "What now?"
"We're in the same class, remember?" Jonghyun pointed in the direction of the arts building. Kibum sighed and crossed his arms over his chest, Jonghyun trailing behind him the whole way to class with a huge smile plastered on his face.
As Kibum ducked into the lecture hall, he felt the other guy following him still through the aisles to where he sat. He wasn't surprised when he decided to sit next to him, but he was still a little annoyed. Why couldn't this guy just see that he didn't want to be friends with him? Kibum didn't do friends, and he wasn't about to make an exception.
It might sound like a sad excuse, but Kibum really did prefer not having friends. Having friends meant he had to talk with other people. It meant he had to pretend to be interested in other people when quite frankly he couldn't care less. He was too busy dealing with his world to care about other people.
During the lecture, Kibum could feel Jonghyun's overly-energetic presence next to him the entire time. He rubbed his tense muscles walking out of class, as he had been sitting completely still for the entire hour and a half, trying not to acknowledge the presence next to him. He could tell the other was trying to get his attention the whole time; a small part of him was happy about that, but he shook his head of the thought.
"Hey gorgeous, wait up." Kibum tensed up again, walking quicker. God, Jonghyun, just give up already, he thought with a sigh.
Despite his short stature, he caught up to Kibum, grinning next to him. "Come to my place." It wasn't a request.
"No, Jonghyun."
Jonghyun jut his lip out in a pout. "Please? I promise you'll like it there."
Kibum refused again, walking towards the cafe, as he planned. He started to get more and more aggravated as Jonghyun was still trailing behind him, turning around quickly to face him when they were just in front of the cafe. "What the hell, Jonghyun?"
Jonghyun just stared back at Kibum, his smile faltering before finding its place back on his sunny face. Kibum could tell it was forced though. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you."
Kibum sighed. "No, it's okay... Is your place far?" Jonghyun looked like an excited puppy, so Kibum had to put him back in his plac
