Running Man's 179th episode is their 2014 New Year Special. It is a special cooking battle race.

The Running Man members were partnered off and sent to different locations in South Korea to gather the freshest ingredients and learn the secret recipes of each region.

This episode ran for approximately 1 hour and 28 minutes, and as Yoo Jaesuk said, each team are fighting for airtime. Seven teams with 10 minutes each already equals 70 minutes. One episode is not enough to air everything that happened to each teams during the whole day. 

Song Jihyo, surprised to find herself back in her hometown, Po Hang, wonders who the special guest that she'll be spending the whole day with is.
