On the next day, Sae woke up early even though she didn’t sleep well last night.

“Oh my gee! Look at your eyes. They are swollen.” Sayaka said. “Can you work?”

“I’m fine.” Sae said.

Sae looks at the mirror and her eyes are really swollen.

“Sae, don’t go out like that. What if Taisuke sees you like that? He will think that you are affected with your break up.” Sayaka said.

“What do I do?” Sae asks.

“Leave it to me.” Sayaka said.

“Good morning!” their co-workers greet when they came in.

“Good morning!” Sae and Sayaka greet.

“Why are you two wearing sunglasses?” Hyoyeon asks.

Sae removes her sunglasses.

“Oh my gee gee gee gee!” Hyoyeon said. “What happened? Did you cry bucket of tears last night?”

“Let me guess, you and Taisuke oppa broke up, right?” Paruru asks.

Sae nodded.

“Why? Yesterday you are too excited for your anniversary.” Hyoyeon said.

“Talk to you later. Work first.” Sae said.

“Later? As in after work? Do I need to buy one case of soju?” Hyoyeon asks.

“Yeah.” Sayaka said.

“I want to come too.” Paruru said.

“Sure. Sure.” Sayaka said.

“I want to go too.” It was Yoona. Hyoyeon’s girlfriend. Not actually girlfriend. The two are best friends.

“Of course! I don’t want to go without my baby.” Hyoyeon said.

Sae and the others are now in their apartment. Sae didn’t stop telling what happened the day Taisuke left her. She is already drunk as well as their friends.

“I thought Taisuke oppa is nice.” Paruru said.

“Sae, do you want me to call our friends? We can teach him a lesson.” Yoona said.

“Baby, you need to pay them if you want to hire them.” Hyoyeon said.

“Oh right.” Yoona said.

“Sayaka, why are you so quiet?” Sae asks.

When they all look at Sayaka, Sayaka is already asleep while hugging the empty bottle of soju.

After few days…

“Annyeong Hasaeyo!” Hyoyeon, Sae and Sayaka greets to the customers.

A guy customer enters the shop wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans. He is looking all the cakes display.

“For what occasion, sir?” Sae asks.

“None.” The guy said.

Sae let the guy to looks at the cake.

After 30 minutes, the guy left the shop.

After a week, Sae was left alone in the shop while the others go out to eat.

“Annyeong Hasaeyo!” Sae greets when a customer came in.

It was the guy who always visits their shop just to stares at the cakes.

Sae watches the guy and she thinks that the guy doesn’t mind her.

She was about to talk to him when two familiar customers came in.

“Hi, Sae!” It was Sooyoung.

“H-Hi.” Sae said.

“Sae, can we see some of your wedding cakes?” Sooyoung asks.

“Wedding cakes? S-Sure.” Sae said. She gave her the photo book of the cakes.

Sooyoung and Taisuke look at the pictures of the wedding cakes.

Sae makes herself busy by wiping the counter clean. She forgot about the guy.

“Taisuke honey, look at this cake, isn’t cute?” Sooyoung said.

“Ne.” Taisuke said.

“When’s the wedding?” Sae asks. Even though they don’t say it to her, she knew that they are planning for their wedding.

“Next month.” Sooyoung said.

“You’re in a rush? Afraid that someone found out your pregnant?” Sae asks. She knew because Sooyoung gain weight.

“You know?” Sooyoung asks.

Sae nodded. “How many months?”

“2 months.” Sooyoung said.

“I see.” Sae said. “Congrats.”

“Thanks.” Sooyoung said. “But how did you know? Did Taisuke tell you?”

“Aniyo. I can see it. I called you skeleton girl because you’re slim but now you’re fatter than the landlord’s wife.” Sae said. “Now, I know the reason why he broke up with me.”

“Sae, we are not here to fight. We are here as customers.” Taisuke said.

“Oi! What are you two doing here?” Sayaka asks. She came back from the lunch break with the others.

“Taisuke honey, I think we need to go.” Sooyoung said.

The couples quickly left.

“Sae, are you ok?” Sayaka asks.

“I’m fine.” Sae said. Sae remembered the guy. She looks around but the guy is not there.

“What did the two doing here?” Sayaka asks.

“They are looking for a wedding cake.” Sae said.

“They are getting married?” Hyoyeon asks.

“By the look of the girl, I think she’s pregnant.” Paruru said.

“Oh my gee.” Sayaka said.

“Since you are all here, I am going to take a break.” Sae said and left.

“Is she going to cry?” Paruru asks.

“I don’t think so. Sae’s strong.” Sayaka said.

On the next day, the guy came in their shop again. “He’s here again. I wonder if he is a spy from the other shop.” Sayaka whispered to Sae.

“Do you want me to talk him?” Sae asks.

“What if he is crazy?” Sayaka asks.

“He doesn’t look like one.” Sae said. “I’ll talk to him.”

“Sae, be careful.” Sayaka said.

Sae approach the guy. “Annyeong Hasaeyo.” She greets.

“Annyeong.” The guy said and stares at the cakes again.

“Sir, I am just wondering. Why are you here every day?” she asks.

“Does it bother you?” he asks.

“Uhmm… W-Well, to be honest we are all bothered here.” She said.

“I just want to look at your cakes. They look delicious.” He said.

“Why don’t you buy a cake?” she asks.

 “It’s too expensive.” He said.

“If I give you a piece of cake will you stop going here every day?” she asks.

The guy looks at her. “Will you give me a piece of cake?”

“Ne but you must not go here every day.” She said.

“Call.” He said.

“Ok. I’ll give you the most delicious cake here.” She said.

The guy sat on the chair and wait for Sae.

Sae picks the most delicious cake and the most expensive one.

“Sae, what are you doing? Who’s gonna pay the cake?” Sayaka asks.

“Me.” Sae said.

“What?” Sayaka was shocked.

Sae ignored her and gives the piece of cake to the guy.

The guy eats it for 5 minutes. “Thanks.” The guy said and gets ready to leave.

“Now, he won’t show up again.” Sae said.

After 5 days…

Sae was dumbfounded when she saw the guy entering the shop. “Annyeong!” the guy said.

“Didn’t I tell you to not go here again?” Sae asks.

“You told me to not visit the shop every day and I did what you told me.” The guy said.

“Did I say that?” Sae asks.

The guy nodded.

“Then, are you back to stare the cakes again?” Sae asks.

The guy shook his head.

“Are you going to buy?” Sae asks.

He shook his head again.

“Then, what are you doing here?” Sae asks.

“To talk to you.” He said.

“Eh?!!!” Sae reacted.

“You know, I like it every time the Japanese girls reacted like that.” He said.

“Shut up.” Sae said. She is getting little annoyed.

“Japanese girls have nicknames right? Like they put ‘chan’ after their name. Like Rena-chan or sometimes if their name is Shizuka their nickname will be Shiichan.” He said.

Sae do talk a lot but this guy really talks a lot.

“Does Japan really have lots of gangster or it is just in the movies?” he asks.

Sae tried to focus in her work.

Just then, Taisuke and Sooyoung came.

“Annyeong Hasaeyo.” Sae greets.

Good thing Sayaka is not there.

“Hi Sae! We just want to give this to you.” Sooyoung said. It is their wedding invitation.

Before Sae took the invitation, the guy took it and reads.

“So, you’re getting married next month.” The guy said.

“Who are you?” Taisuke asks.

“I’m Kim Jaejoong.” The guy introduced himself.

“Are you close to Sae?” Taisuke asks.

“She’s my friend.” Jaejoong said.

“She never introduced you to me.” Taisuke said.

“We’ve met after you broke up.” Jaejoong said.

“Are you going to attend the wedding?” Sooyoung asks.

“No.” Jaejoong said. “I and Sae-chan are going on a date that time. We already planned it.”

‘Date? What is this guy talking about?’ Sae’s thought.

“He called you Sae-chan.” Taisuke said.

“W-What’s wrong with that?” Sae asks.

“You never allowed me to call you that.” Taisuke said.

Sae doesn’t know how to respond. Since she arrived in South Korea, she never allowed someone to call her Sae-chan since it is her nickname in Japan. Even Sayaka stopped calling her Sae-chan.

“Honey, maybe that they are really close.” Sooyoung said. “We must be going. Hope you can come to our wedding even though you have plans.”

“As if I am going.” Sae said after the two left. She took the invitation from Jaejoong and throws it to the trash can.

“You’re not going?” Jaejoong asks.

“No.” Sae said.

“Then, let’s make the date real.” Jaejoong said.

“Why would I go with you on a date?” Sae asks.

“Because your friend agreed to it. Right, Haruka?” Jaejoong said and looks at Paruru.

Paruru nodded but she is staring blankly again.

Sae thought of it. It would be a great idea to go on a date rather than stay in the apartment and think about the wedding of her ex.

“Ok fine.” Sae said.

Jaejoong smiled.
