Chapter 8

Roses (A Lee Sung Min Love Story)

I slumped down the stairs.

"Yes, dad?" I asked swinging round the door, into the room.

He looked at me and then reached for the remote.

With one, quick switch the TV went blank.

This must be serious...

"Chun He..." He started linking his hands and resting them on his knees.

"What is it?" I asked, trying to hurry him.

"Don't give me back chat!" He said sternly.

I raised my hands. "Sorry, don't shot me."

He didn't take well to my sarcasm.

He ignored, what he considered to be, my imaturity.

"I have a big assinment on my hands." He started.

I nooded, not seeing quite exactally what it had to do with me.

"You probably already know of the Lee family by now, right?"

I frowned, trying to think. There were many Lee families in town!

"Their only son is in your class, I think."

"Ah!" I said realising. "Lee Sung Min?"

My father nodded.

"Yes, that's it! Well, his parents are pretty high up, as you know and they're voleuntered to do some charity work out in Uganda! Isn't that so caring and thoughtful!"

I rolled my eyes. "An attempt to gain publisity..." I mumbled under my breath.

"What was that!?" He asked raising one eyebrow.

"Uh, nothing!" I stuttered out.

He gave me an un-convinced look and conitnued with his story.

"Anyway, this means I'll be covering the story and as a result I get to fly out to Uganda with them and whitmess the whole thing!"

"Wait!" I interupted in a fluster. "You're going to Uganda!?"

My father put his hands out, reasuring me.

"It'll only be 3 weeks and I thought you were more then responcible enough to be left along in the house. I wanted to show that I had trust in you!"

"Only 3 weeks!?" I questioned.

He nodded. "If you really don't want-"

"No, it's fine." My father paused.

"So, you're okay with me leaving for a little while?"

I thought for a momet in nodded. "When do you leave?"

"Day after tomorrow."

My mouth dropped open. "That's rather short notice!"

"I know, I know. But this is a great opertunity for me!" He continued.

"Of course, dad. I want you to go. Don't wory about me, okay?" I finished.

It was true.

I was actually looking forward to living alone for some weeks.

I'd always been an indipendant person, this was what I prefered.

"Really, Chun He? Ah, I knew I could depend on you! You're such a good girl!"

I stopped my father mid-sentence before he went too far with the patrinizing.

"I'm going to finish me work, now. Okay?"

My father agreed and gestured for me to go.

I did just that and he flipped the TV back on as I left.
I couldn't wait.
Only 2 more days and I could do whatever I wanted!
