Ten handsome and rowdy boys sat around the yule log on Christmas Eve while another was perched upon a rocking chair with a plaid blanket wrapped around his frame and a red book with black sharpie on the cover. They held mugs of hot cocoa in both palms and sipped the rich chocolate drink to warm up their bodies.

 

“Luhan Hyung, why do you get the chair.”

Luhan set down his cup of cocoa and wiggled his rear on the chair as if marking his territory. He fixed his hair, checked his teeth for stains, cleared his throat-

“Hurry up already before next Christmas!”

 

A glare was sent in Baekhyun's direction but Luhan complied and finally opened up the book. A deep breath was taken and filled the room with sounds of the loveable Christmas tale being read aloud.

 

“T’was the night before Christmas and in the house we look into

On his knees at the foot of his bed he stayed

You've been praying for the Christmas Saint to come

He retired and asks for a bit of foregiveness

 

Not that it matters since I've got the family business.

With a blush and a sorry Kyungsoo gave a bow

 

But their moment was interrupted by a peasant named Tao

 

He crept into the room while rubbing his eyes

When he saw Saint Luhan he stopped in his tracks

 

And bowed on his knees with the bend of his back.

Saint Lu just scoffed at the boys weak praise

The red book then closed and everyone was still, the rest of the cocoa long forgotten as knuckles cracked and Kris fixed his hair in the reflection of the fire. Luhan just sits in the chair holding his Christmas story close to his chest. He was proud of the tale that he wrote and by the awestruck silence, he knew everyone loved it too. Except Jongin of course, that little deserved to be mad since he defied his elder and messed up Luhan's bed after he made it.

 

Chanyeol jumped to his feet and pointed an accusing finger at the devil in plaid.

 

"Why was I just Park!?"

 

"Because you were rude at the beginning, Hyung. I just want to know why I was crying."

 

"Pfft- You always cry! What the hell Luhan Hyung! I didn't do anything on Kris Hyung's bed!"

 

"I was only mentioned once! And for your information, Kyungsoo wouldn't end up with you!"

 

"Ow! Ow! Baek! You're stepping on my foot!"

He gasped at the question. "Xiu Hyung, think of all the possibilities!"

 

"Saint Lu?" Kris scoffs, "if you're a Saint then I'm a dragon."

 

"Well then that'd explain yo hot breath!"

 

Chanyeol grinned and laughed at his own witty remark but stopped once he heard,

 

"Oh shut it, crotch rocket."

 

"You guys are just jealous that the two most gorgeous people ended up together- Me and Kyungie."

 

"That'd be Kyungie and I.."

 

"OH MY GOD SUHO EVERY GODDAMN TIME!"

 

The yelling and bickering continued until they heard the door swing open.

 

"Luhan Hyung? Xiumin Hyung? My Umma said to bring this over for you both.. sorry for just walking in its a bit heavy and with all the noise-" The doe eyed boy stopped once he noticed the small gathering in his neighbors home and the binoculars hanging from a few of their necks over the cheesy Christmas sweaters. His eyes scanned the room and landed on a telescope set up to face his home. Kyungsoo's mouth opened to ask what exactly was going on but was stopped short by Luhan hopping over and jumping on top of him.

 

"Kyungie! Aww, how sweet. Say, you wanna hear a story?"

 

"NO!" Chorused the group of boys behind him.

 

Kyungsoo just blinked and opened his mouth to nag at the boys but decided instead to stop and sigh. He straightened his shoulders and gaves a smile as he noticed the time on the clock.
