Yang Hyun-Suk lead his team into the practice room of Park JinYoung's pupils. The two CEO's greeted each other and introduced each other to their teams.

Both groups of boys bowed their 90-degree bows and proceeded to eye their competition from head-to-toe.

Taehyun suddenly felt eyes on him. His eyes quickly scanned the faces of the JYP boys. Their looks were definitely nothing to scoff at. They don't compare to Mino though... His eyes fell onto the smoldering gaze of a handsome young man that was staring intently at him. His chestnut hair was styled in a lazy-like faux hawk and he donned a fully black attire with a gold chain. He didn't appear to be Korean however.

The mystery guy smirked at him when he noticed that Taehyun was looking back at him. Taehyun blushed and quickly averted his gaze.

Mino definitely took noticed of their exchange and felt a growl building up in the back of his throat. He didn't like how this stranger was eyeing his Taehyun like a piece of meat. He felt rather uncomfortable and shuffled his balance from one leg to another.

After some brief, but inspirational speeches from their CEOs the battle commenced.

First up in the rap battle, JYP introduced his three rappers: Jackson, Young-hyun, and Mark. Taehyun noticed that Mr. Mystery Smirk had gotten up when the names were called. Jackson huh..? So he's definitely not from Korea.

Mino tensed up when he noticed the bastard who dare look at Taehyun get up for the rap portion. Huh, so he's a rapper too. Let's see what this guy's got shall we?

The music started and a familiar beat played from the speakers. All the YG trainees started dancing to the beat. The one known as Young-hyun started rapping lyrics aimed towards taunting YG and was followed by the one known as Mark. Finally, Jackson came out with his rapid Korean rapping, impressing Mino quite a bit.

All the young men in the room moved to the beat, enjoying themselves as the song came to an end. The YG boys clapped their hands and anticipated their CEO's choice of who would be representing him in the rapping category.

“Would the rappers from both Team A and Team B please come up.”

Mino breathed out a sigh of relief when YG announced that the collaborative effort of both team's rappers would be up to bat—so to speak. The rappers high-fived each other. Taehyun couldn't help but excitedly pat Mino on the back as he got up to perform.

They cued their music and the loud base boomed throughout the room. One by one each rapper's “This is it! What! What! What!” pumped up the rest of their team, each adding their own unique rapping flavor into the mix.

When the time came for Mino's solo he killed it with his deep, raspy voice. He looked over at Taehyun who was happily cheering them on. Then he walked over to the other group, looked at Jackson and made sure to get in his face towards the end of his verse when the lyrics happened to be taunting them to a one-on-one fight. Taehyun didn't seem to notice as he was mesmerized by Mino's y voice.

Finally, the the song was coming to end as Bobby finalized it with his part. The rest of the team was so pumped that they got up and started dancing to the ending chorus. Taehyun jumped up and down and flailed his arms in a silly manner, fully enjoying the performance with his other members.

As the song ended, tension arose once again as it meant it was time for the next portion of the battle: the dance battle.

Once again, Jackson was called up to perform with a couple of newer faces. Everyone watched with discerning eyes. When the first flip came about the YG trainees couldn't help but be amazed. The boys watched as Jackson laid into the arms of his fellow trainees' arms and flew back out into a front flip right before Yang Hyun-Suk's eyes. Even Mino couldn't help his deep, “OHHHHHH!” when he saw it. Their tricks were no joke. When it finally came to the final flip where Jackson pushed Mark over BamBam's crouched form, the YG boys were whooping and hollering, excitedly cheering for them. They were definitely a tough team to beat.

It was their turn and YG had decided to go with Team B to represent their dancing ability. The Team A members had difficult times masking their disappointment. Taehyun wanted to cheer on the younger boys but still felt discouraged from not having been chosen. After all, this is the second performance where he wouldn't be participating in. Mino took notice of this and reached out to squeeze the younger boy's wrist.

“Ey, don't worry about it 'Hyun-ah. The kids can have this one. I'm 100% sure you'll get chosen to sing after.” Taehyun looked up and gave him a small smile in gratitude.

The two watched proudly as the younger YG representatives gave their crisp and precise dance performance. While they lacked in fancy tricks and flips, they made up more than enough through their synchronization and technique.

With the end of their performance, the final battle loomed over their heads. They needed to showcase who had the better vocals of the two companies. JYP sent out his group and they watched as they performed a jazzy pop song that was very akin to JYP's style.

When it came to the end the YG boys gulped in anticipation of their CEO's decision. Their hopes were dashed when he announced, “I'll ask the team on the floor on whether they want to see Team A or Team B.”

All the boys looked at each other with bewildered expressions. Why didn't YG choose one of them? Were neither of them good enough? YG proceeded to do a blind vote on who the JYP trainees wished to see perform. When asked if they wanted to see the Team A vocals that consisted of Nam Taehyun, Kang Seungyoon and Kim Jinwoo, a majority of them raised their hands—Jackson included, of course. It had been immediately decided.

The Team A vocals, while happy to have been chosen by the other trainees, were incredibly disappointed that their own CEO didn't have enough faith in them to choose them himself. Jinwoo was especially frantic because he felt that he still wasn't fully prepared to sing Park JinYoung's song. He shook as he nervously got up after Seungyoon and Taehyun. It was the moment of truth. He was beginning to almost wish that the others didn't vote for them to perform.

The three boys took their places on chairs and took deep breaths. Taehyun felt a wave of adrenaline rush through his body. We can do this! All the temporary stress we've been through will be over in a matter of minutes. He thought as he nodded to the other two. This is it. The final performance of the entire battle lay on their shoulders. No pressure or anything...
