Looking around the crowded area, I finally spotted Janice and fighting my way through the throng of people and waiters, I waved to her. She rolled her eyes when she saw me and tapped her watch. I shrugged and mouthed “I was busy” at her and she sighed, shaking her head. I smiled. This was so typical of Janice. I just couldn’t wait to tell her what I had been doing this afternoon. Unlike me, she was still a massive fan of BAP and obsessed over them constantly like a teenage girl.

“Hey!” I yelled when I finally sat down, trying to fight the din that never seemed to leave the tiny restaurant.

“Why are you shouting? I can hear you perfectly fine!” she yelled back and we both burst out laughing. Being with Janice, it seemed as though nothing could rock our friendship.

“Guess who I met today?” I said, leaning over so I could speak in her ear.

“Who? Don’t tell me it was another boy” she said, no longer bothered to yell.

“Ah, but this wasn’t just any boy. You know BAP?” I asked, smiling slyly, playing with her.

“Yeah of course I know BAP! Did you see their new video and then that interview and oh also they recently just had a comeback! Wait, what about BAP?” she asked, managing to pull herself together to hear what I had to say.

“Oh, nothing. I just met Bang Yong Guk and had lunch with him” I shrugged and sipped on my drink that had taken much too long to arrive.

“WHAT? Oh haha, you are hilarious” she answered, refusing to believe me. I raised my eyebrows at her and she jumped up, screaming. Around the tiny space, people had started to turn their heads toward us.

“WHERE? HOW? WHEN? WHY? OH MY GOD INTRODUCE ME PLEASE! PLEASE I BEG OF YOU! OH GOD YOU LUCKY ” she screamed, her cheeks flushed and her eyes overly bright. I glanced around nervously and some people hastily turned back around, pretending not to have noticed. Most just stared with no shame though and I grasped her arm, forcing her back down into her seat.

“Shhh. I just met him today. He was in my performing arts lecture and we danced together. He then randomly decided to ask me out for lunch” I said calmly, trying not to make a big deal out of it, afraid that she would interpret it as my rubbing it in her face.

“What? But why is he here? In UNI. In ENGLAND. WHY?” she demanded, having calmed down a tiny bit.

“Apparently their manager decided that a few months of school would be good for them. They didn’t announce it publicly because they were afraid it would upset the school population” I answered in a tone that I hoped screamed out “I couldn’t care less”. She glanced at me in disbelief and she snapped her fingers, suddenly going into a giggling fit.

“That Manager Kang, what a genius” she smiled maliciously to herself and turning back toward me, she grabbed me by my shoulders, forcing me to look into her intense eyes.

“Are you going to meet him again?” she asked her tone dead serious.

“Uh, I’m meeting him for breakfast tomorrow down at the café” I stuttered, suddenly afraid that she might do something to hurt me if I didn’t tell the truth.

“Mmhm, so that’s how it is huh?” she said, releasing me and tapping her fingers on her chin.

“I shouldn’t have said that. I should NOT have said that” I muttered to myself and silently picked at my pasta, worried sick about my safety and also Bang Yong Guk’s safety.
