The Edge Of Dreams
The broken heart

The long lost dreams

Everything isn't

As it seems

The days go by

Like a sigh

Short yet full of meaning

If you understand

The false hopes

The dried up tears

They disappear

By the years

The open arms

The warm smiles

If only they could

Last till now

The shared moments

The warm feelings

They seem as if

They're long lost dreams

Cold wars

Silent tears

Friendship lost

That's how it seems

The edge is near

I'm almost falling off

Dreams are dreams

They aren't as they seem

Gracefully I try

But I'll still cry

As I fall of the edge

Of my dreams

Chapter 1: It's certainly a poem. There is no doubting that, but I'm not sure what pattern you were aiming for. There is definitely a rhyme and rhythm to some parts and others sort of stumbled along a bit, but overall it works.

Looking at it again, you do have a stanza pattern to begin with and then deviate near the end, though I wasn't sure what the effect was meant to be. I liked it though. Don't get me wrong, and the setup does nothing to detract from the meaning in it. The beauty of poems is that they are highly subjective and open to interpretation from many sources. There are lots chances to read more into it at various points so it was a good use of words.

This one feels kind of bittersweet actually. :) Good job!
