The fifth key is where we had our first kiss.

Can you remember, Jieunnie?

Jieun exited the restaurant and made her way down the street. Storm clouds were brewing over her head and the sky was turning a nasty gray. Big, fat rain drops began to spill from the sky above her, splattering all over the concrete and running down her face. Not that Jieun really cared, she was too busy thinking about the first kiss that she shared with Kris. That night was perfect... Jieun sighed internally and looked up at the darkening sky, her hair and clothes soaking wet and water dripping from her nose and chin. It was raining like this that night too.

“Ah! Kris, hurry up!” Jieun squealed as she felt rain run down the back of her neck. Drops of rain poured from the angry clouds above them, and Kris grasped Jieun’s hand tightly in his. They ran down the street, hiding under one overhang and dashing to the next one in an attempt to get away from the downpour. As they made a mad dash to the Jieun’s porch, rain pelted them from all sides, soaking their clothes and plastering their hair to their foreheads.

“We made it,” Jieun giggled, wrapping her slender arms around Kris’ waist, and ignoring how the cloth of his shirt clung to her forearms.

Kris returned the hug, “Yes, we did.” A smile played at the corners of his mouth and he looked Jieun in the eyes, and before she knew it his lips were pressed gently against hers. Jieun had never kissed anyone before, let alone someone as amazing as Kris, and it was safe to say that she was nervous, but her body acted all on its own. Her eyes fluttered softly before closing, and her arms s up and around his neck. Jieun pulled Kris closer to her, their drenched clothes sticking to each other, and she kissed him back with a small smile.

Jieun frowned as she felt him pull away, but he just grinned at her, “I love you Jieunnie.”

Jieun’s mouth relaxed, “I love you too, Kris.”

Ignoring the angry rain, Jieun walked back to her house. Her hair was plastered against her head and her clothes clung to her, but she didn’t care. Puddles of water were forming in the street outside her house, but the porch itself was dry, and Jieun looked around.

Everything seemed normal, the rocking chairs that were given to her by her grandmother rocked slowly from the wind, and the two potted plants by the door were green and full of life.

Jieun remembered back to when she had first started to date Kris. They used to write each other notes and hide them on each other’s front porches, Kris would place his on the odd overhang above the door. Jieun reached her hand up, expecting to find spiderwebs but her hand hits something smooth and wooden instead. Grabbing it tightly with her hand, Jieun pulls it down to eye level, and discovers that it’s another box.

The key inside has a 5 on it, and the note made Jieun’s eyes tear up.

Jieun, the sixth key is where we would fix all of our problems.
