I could feel the wind wisk around me. Its cool breeze and whimsical sound soothing as if my face was being carassed. However, although the sound was comforting, it wasn't the same as the one in the forest. It didn't speak to me, or give me advice, or even nag at me. When speaking the only thing that would reply would be the same monotone hum. I sighed at the huge difference. While both hummed they were two completely different things. The forest had this hypnotic hum to it, unconsiouly making you sway with the wind, and the trees. Making you follow the sound of the animals as they spoke, played, hid. It was as if the calmness lured you in taking control of your body, and although it may sound scary the feeling when you let everything all go, it was...reasuring. Now the city. It hummed alright. In fact it blared with sirens, with people shouting, with shop doors being thrown open and clamped shut. And at night. The bright, erratic, changing lights flickered intrudingly everywhere you turned making you feel as if although you were moving constently when really you were still stuck in the same place.

However, at times like this it was nice. In fact it almost made me feel...human.

Almost.

As the wind shifted direction my nostrils filled with a sweet scent and I couldn't help but automatically smile.

Mhm food.

Feeling my mouth begin to salivate, the wind shifted direction once again and my nose immediatly scrunched up, disgusted.

Ugh what is that?

Moments like this make me hate having the nose I had.

Gross

Turning away as if that would cover up the smell, the wind shifted once again. My nose twitched again, but this time it was for a different reason. I frowned, this one I wasn't too keen on ever smelling again. Looking around nothing seemed out of the ordinary making me frown deeper. It was the same scent as that one time.

Him

I shook my head trying to shake away the thought. It's been over a week since that incident in the alley and although there hasn't been any more deaths, I've heard people on the streets whispering to one another how 'things' have been happening. People apparently missing. Some just wondering around seeming lost. Some looking as if they were dug up from dirt and scratches covering them. However, none have talked about what it looks like. But that info alone kept me on my toes since the scent had sent me on edge the first time, and if that hadn't hightened my senses enough since that night in the alley I've had this lurking feeling of someone watching me. Just the thought of it sent shivers down my spine.

Which was why I was here right now leaning against the cool wood of Luhan's door waiting for him to come out.

Which by the way why was he taking so long?

He couldn't be...

Shoving my ear against the door, I concentrated and when I heard the familiar soft subtle breathing, and light airy steps I felt my body relax.

As long as he's ok.

Which reminds me, I need to think up something for the reason I was here.

I lifted my head towards the door looking straight at it, picturing where Luhan's head would have been. I couldn't say 'Hey Luhan there's a psycho on the loose and until I found out whether it's human or not I'm going to be your personal bodyguard, K!' I sighed, yeah no. I wasn't even human, but hanging out with Suho over a week even I knew that that sounded really bad. I coughed,

"Um Luhan, I know that what I said last night about protecting you and not loosing you and all that probably freaked you out, but I-" I hit myself on the forehead with my palm.

Oh gosh that sounded even worse.

Sighing, I almost yelped when the door suddenly flung open and I was no longer staring at wood, but a boys face. More precisly a boy with angel like features including honey hair, although dull almond colored eyes, a small button like nose, and nicely plump lips. Taking a step forward since I doubt he noticed me, I myself moved to the side as swiftly as I could.

"O-ok Luhan yo-you got this. It's ju-just another day. On-one step at a time."

I watched him giving himself a small fighting gesture with a smile on my face and forgetting the little fact that he didn't know I was there I patted him on the shoulder,

"Don't worry so much Luhan, it'll be fine."

"Ommo!"

I think that was the first time I've seen someone jump so high. Catching him so he wouldn't become one with the floor, I felt his pulse thumping a mile a minute and his breath shallow, sputtering in and out.

"J-Jae is-is that you??"

I began to nod, but with better thought I finally stated,

"Yeah, I'm sorry did I catch you off guard?"

Oops.

The boy, which was still in my arms, began to shake so I began to rub his arms soothingly hoping to calm him down.

"I'm sorry Lu, I didn't mean to freak you out so badly."

I felt his shaking slowly come to a stop before his head tilted to the side.

"Lu?"

I thought about it, biting my lip,

"Sorry it's easier. If you want I won't cal-"

He shook his head to the side,

"No, it's fin-fine. I'm fine, I wa-was just...surprised, tha-that's all."

Feeling a little less guilty, we both stood there in silence for a minute or two before a question seemed to hit him.

"Um Ja-Jae, not to so-sound rude, bu-but why are yo-you here?"

I thought back to my failed practice a few minutes ago and sighed wondering what to say.

Just go for it Jae.

I clapped my hands throwing them up as if he could see them,

"I've come to take you to school."

I dropped my head.

Really Jae? Out of all the thoughts and you say that?

I stood there waiting for his reaction. Looking closely his face seemed kinda twisted. I knew he was shocked by the way his face was beginning to form, but then it seemed as if he was trying to hide his initial shock and the result...was really...funny. Looking at him I couldn't help but laugh.

"Your face."

With that his face changed again, this time looking almost petrified,

"My face?"

I nodded,

"Yeah it's all twisted, how do you do that?"

I tried to copy his facial expression, but I couldn't. Catching a glimpse of myself in the reflection of the window I couldn't help but continue laughing,

"Haha, I didn't know a face could do this. Luhan do it again."

I grabbed his face in my hands, warping it all that I could while laughing. With his mouth split wide open and his eyes drooped, Luhan spoke inbetween my fingers,

"J-Jae you-you're hurting my face."

Quickly letting go the chuckle in my throat came to a stop when he asked me,

"Wh-why are you really her-here?"

I looked at him blinking,

"Like I said to walk you to school."

He didn't seem convinced with my response since his eyebrow began to raise and intrigued by the movement I brought up my hand about to touch it but stopped when he coughed making my hand drop.

"Well recently there have been attacks and people going missing so I..I thought I could-"

"Protect me?" He finished for me and I began to beam,

"Yes exactly."

His face went into a frown which was not something I was expecting.

"I-I can hand-handle myself." He stated assuredly and I looked at him from head to toe.

"I doub-" I stopped myself when I noticed the change in his face.

Taking a moment to think about my words I finally situated with,

"I know you can take care of yourself Luhan, but sometimes we get a hand held out to us and either we can let it go and fall or we can take it..." 

His face seemed to shift to a softer expression,

"So Lu, will you take my hand?"

I watched as he shifted his head down, bitting his lip as he thought over the words I just said.

"But why m-?"

I quickly stopped him,

"Some questions don't need answers...just will you?"

Standing there, I held my breath trying to mentally prepare myself. After a minute of silence, I heard him breathe in a long breath and watched dumbfounded when he slowly began to bring up his arm, his hand shaking like crazy.

"I-I could u-use a h-hand."

Unable to contain my ear splitting smile, I quickly grabbed his hand,

"Kaja!"

And with that we headed off to school.

"Um Ja-Jae, yo-you can le-let go no-now."

"Huh?"

I looked down at his hand still in mine and I slowly let go,

"It's warm."

I watched fascinated as he blinked slowly. His eyes widening,

"What?"

"Your hand, it was warm."

I became even more fascinated when he became flustered, his face turning pink, and his body began to do these little twitches,

"I'm so-sorry I've nev-never- I -"

I shook my head looking at my now empty hand, slowly closing it into a fist hoping to keep some of the warmth left,

"No, I liked it." I whispered more to myself, however was still heard.

"Eh?" With that I looked up to find that he turned a darker shade of pink.

"I-I gotta go." He stated as quickly as he could, spinning around and whacking his walking stick on the ground, speed walking away.

I smiled at his cute actions and noticing the people around waving to the students I also waived liking the gesture even though I knew Luhan couldn't see it. Ready to leave, I turned, but stoped in my tracks when I heard Luhans name suddenly come up. Looking at a group of girls, I leaned in closer curious as to what they would say,

"You know that kid, Luhan?"

"The one who's blind?"

I gritted my teeth at the word, I really didn't like it.

"Yeah, you know those guys who were bullying him?"

Bullying? Those guys from before?

"Ne, but I thought they stopped? Remember that one day they came all banged up."

I couldn't help but smile.

I wonder why? huhu~

"I thought so too, but I guess they are going to get back at him."

I frowned. 

That doesn't sound good.

"Back at him? You sure?"

The person nodded,

"I over heard them talking about it the other day, apparently it's going to happen at lunch today."

Today!?

"Eh really, should we tell?"

"Aniya- what if they find out? Then we'll be next."

Huh? Next?

"But- but what about Luhan?"

The person only shook their head,

"It's sad, but there's nothing we can do."

I quickly frowned.

What? Nothing you can do!?

I guess I said it out loud though because next thing I knew the group turned towards me shocked. Looking at them, I straightened myself stepping towards them.

"Who are you?" A girl asked and I wanted to roll my eyes at the reoccuring question.

I learned rolling my eyes from Suho.

"I'm Luhans protec-" I stopped myself when they all looked at me funny,

"I mean I'm Luhans..ah-" 

Think Jae, think. What were the guys calling one another the other day at the shop?

Figuring it out I smiled victorious crossing my arms,

Another thing I learned from Suho.

"Hyung. Yep I'm Luhans Hyung." 

It was silent for a moment before they started laughing aloud. Not understanding what was so funny I tilted my head to the side confused.

"Hyung? You?"

"What a babo."

"So it's true pretty people are stupid."

I looked at them, the word pretty was familiar, but the way they said it didn't seem like a complement.

Stupid, what was that?

Frowning I looked at them,

"Anyway, what do you mean about those bullies taking care of him? Is it the same as those guys before?"

They just scoffed at me,

"It's none of your business, hyung."

With that they started cracking up again and it took all my willpower to not growl or beat them up. Putting my hands into fists, I took a second to calm myself before shaking my head,

"Well I may be stupid, but you guys are even more stupid."

Their laughter died in their throats as one cocked their head towards me,

"Excuse me, what did you just say you old hag?"

Old hag?

She stared at me with a mean demeaner and I smirked liking the challenge. Standing straight up, I looked down at her once again crossing my arms.

"I said you are even more stupid."

She also crossed her arms,

"Wae?"

I looked them each in the eyes which probably freaked them out by the color alone,

"Because you aren't willing to say anything because you are more worried about yourselves. Isn't that right?"

They were silent and the other two girls looked down guilty, but the same girl just crossed her arms scoffing,

"That's right. Why should we? We don't even know the kid. He only keeps to himself. He probably thinks he's too good for us or something just because he's got a pretty face. I bet if he wasn't blind he would just stare at himself all day or be like every other typical jerk."

I was starting to loose my cool and I could feel the rumble in my chest. I thought back to the forest and could picture the wind lecturing me on keeping my composure and having patience. 

"You're right." I simply stated after a second of silence, catching them off guard.

"We- we are?" One girl stuttered and I nodded,

"You're right- you don't know him, because if you did you wouldn't be so selfish."

Not wanting to stay any longer due to the thinning of my patience of not wanting to rip out their throats I walked away with a snarl. After a moment of initial shock I heard a,

"Whatever hyung." from behind followed with snickering and I just shook my head.

Kids these days! (another phrase I learned from Suho)

Taking a step at a time, what they said kept eating at me and taking one look back at the school I sighed. Looking around, I smiled to myself.

Well if no one was going to help, maybe I could.

Crouching down, I s around the side wall following Luhans scent. Poking my head up above the brick wall, I cought sight of the familair golden head and tracked him as best as I could while staying hidden. Frowning when he went into the building, I stood hanging on the side of the wall wondering when he would come out. Looking around, I smiled when I caught sight of him once again, but this time it was through..what did Suho call it.. a window. However, now he was sitting at some table looking thing and it wasn't just him. In fact there was a bunch of them all looking forward and following their gazes they were watching a person standing and squiggling something on a wall. Noticing the lack of movement, I stood put watching them with curiosity. Which took forever may I add. It was tiring hanging on the brick wall all the while trying to avoid people. One minute I would have to roll to the nearest bush or cover up by the vines which covered the wall and once gone go back to make sure Luhan hadn't left. 

Not knowing how long I stood their my eyes shot open when I heard a loud ring and it took me a second to catch up to what was going on. Shaking my head I looked up once again only this time Luhan was gone.

Eh, where did he go?

Lifting myself once again to get a better look I heard a whistle behind me and turned to find a guy with a uniform and a stick in his hand.

"Young lady hanging from the wall."

Uh oh.

"Are you trying to ditch! Yah!"

I scurried up the wall as fast as I could, throwing myself over to the other side to safety behind a bush. Looking all around, people were now walking about and my eyes began to flicker about hoping to catch glimpse of that golden hair. Catching him, I smiled, but just as I cought sight of him he turned the corner making me groan. Unable to take it anymore I decided to just go for it. Following him around the corner, I watched him as he sat down at a table by himself and I was about to go over to him and tell him what those girls had said earlier when a group of guys came by making me jump into the closest bush. Landing on a twig I groaned, but quickly covered my mouth when one of them had looked at the bush weirdly. I felt my breath being in and finally relaxed when he had turned back to his friends.

Relieved when I didn't get caught I was about to move when I heard Luhan's name being brought up once again. Turning to another group of guys, all I could see was their backs.

"Hey isn't that Luhan?"

One asked, and I watched as he shrugged his head in Luhans direction.

"Who Chanyeol? The boy sitting there by himself?"

"Ne, he's always by himself."

"Maybe we should talk to him."

I peeked out from the bush and blinked when I got a good look at their faces.

Woah, they are all so pretty.

"What do you think Chen?"

I looked over at the one called Chen curious, maybe if they talked to Luhan those bullies wouldn't bother him anymore.

Yes, go to him!! 

"I don't know, I've never seen him with people so maybe he likes to be by himself Baek."

I shook my head,

No! No one likes to be alone!! Go to him!!

"But I've seen him before with bruises, do you think he gets bullied?"

I looked over to the one called Baek and nodded,

He does. He does. Go help him.

"Maybe, people can be jerks I swear."

I nodded thinking about those girls earlier.

"I think we should just go say hi."

I couldn't hold my excitement and watched as they started to turn towards him,

"Chanyeol. Baekhyun. Chen."

I wanted to scream when they stopped, turning towards whomever came up to them,

"Teacher Kim is looking for you guys, he needs those papers from earlier."

"Crap we forgot. Thanks." 

The student walked away and Baek pulled on the other guy Chanyeols shirt trugging his head towards Luhan,

"What about him?"

Chanyeol just patted his head,

"We'll say hi to him next time, ne?"

He nodded and with that they all began to walk in the other direction.

Nooooo~

I frowned.

Well I guess not everyone is bad.

Turning back towards Luhan, I felt a growl escape my throat when I noticed those jerks from before making their way towards him. Watching as they tapped Luhan on the shouder, I unkowingly gripped the bush when they jerked him up taking him towards the back of the building. Quickly jumping out of the bush, I was about to follow them when I heard someone called.

"Yah!"

I turned around looking midly confused as a man with a stick strutted towards me.

Oh not him again.

I looked back to where Luhan was just a second ago only to find it empty. Looking back at the man, now closer, I bolted

"Yah!!"

Running away from the stranger again, I zoomed by students all the while being chased. Trying my best to loose him which was kinda hard since the guy was so persistent and next thing I knew I was completely lost. Spotting trees, I quickly ducked behind one hiding. Hearing footsteps, I stepped into the shadows allowing the natural shade to hide me. 

"Yah! Where did you go? When I find you!"

Listening as his voice faded away, I was about to step out to look for Luhan when something flashed catching my eye. Turning towards the forest, I stepped forward, a scent catching me off guard. 

That smell..

Feeling my feet move forward on their own, I was in by the familiar sounds of the forest, and for a moment I forgot all that I was doing. Moving along the trees, it felt so much like home and soon I found myself by a stream of water. Squatting down, I dipped my hand into the cool water my cut from grabbing onto the bush earlier quickly cleaning itself. I watched as my reflection rippling across the once still waters this time stained red. Entranced, I closed my eyes to take in the sounds which were so different from the city.  

It's calm.

Hearing the small chirps, the sounds of crinkling leaves, and the soothing wind, I took in all that I could feeling myself relax. That was short lived though when hearing a twig snap. My eyes quickly shot open, but before I had a chance to react I felt myself being tackled to the side making me grunt in response. Taking a second to grasp what just happened, I opened my eyes fixating on the face a mere inches from my own.

This smell..It couldn't be.

"What do we have here?" The man said his eyes taking my own face in inch by inch.

I tried to get up, but he locked my arms into the dirt. 

"It's no use human."

Human?

He just looked at me a fake pout on his face,

"You're so pretty too, my my what a waste. Oh well."

About to throw him off I yelped when I felt his face against my neck, his breath hot.

"Ar- are you the one attacking those people, making them dis-dissapear?" I couldn't help but stutter, his hot breath making the hairs on my skin jump up.

He cocked an eyebrow looking up at me,

"Mhm pretty and smart I see."

I frowned at him,

"Why? Why are you doing this?"

He seemed to find what I said funny, because next thing I knew he was laughing. After a few seconds, he calmed down and I felt the grip on my wrists tightened as he once again came closer,

"Because. I. Can."

Feeling my anger boil up, he noticed my face and smirked,

"Oh am I making you mad human? You know you shouldn't frown like that, it makes your face ugly."

With that he took one of his finger nails, tracing down the side of my face before coming to my chin jerking it up so that we locked eyes. I rolled my eyes scoffing at him,

"I would say the same, but you already ugly."

This seemed to get him mad because I could feel his nails digging into my chin drawing blood. Grunting in pain, I watched disgusted as his eyes twinkled as he brought his now bloody nail to his mouth it as he look at me. 

"Now, you should be careful what you say pretty. You wouldn't want to make me mad."

I just looked at him straight in the face.

"Oh and why is that- ugly?"

I heard him growl,

"You asked for it!"

He swooped down, but just as he did the wind shifted and I watched as his body went completely rigid his eyes slowly widening as he looked at me.

"What the? You couldn't-"

Before he had the chance to finish I heard a growl and watched shocked as the man on top of me got flung off. I jerked my head to the side and watched in complete shock as soon I wasn't looking at a man but a wolf, and not only that but there was another wolf.

There's two???

Watching dumbfounded, the two went head to head and the once quiet forest was now filled with snarls. The black wolf, the good one, took a good chunck out of the grey wolf making the grey wolf fall back with a wimper. Shocked, all I could do was sit there not knowing if I should get involved. Before I could think about it further though, the grey wolf lunged, bitting the black wolf on the leg, making him drop. He winced in pain as he fell and soon the grey wolf had the upper hand. Seeing as the grey wolf was about to lunge for the black wolfs neck I knew I had to get involved and without thought I lunged forward tackling the grey wolf to the side. They both seemed shocked by this and soon the grey wolf turned to me snarling. About to change into wolf form myself, we heard gun shots and the sounds of people shouting.

The grey wolf looked off towards the distance before looking at us both seeming to contemplate his next movement. Snarling he was going to lunge forward but stopped upon hearing another gun shot. Growling at us, he just ran off and once gone I turned towards the whimpering wolf. The wolf was huge, his black coat beautiful as it glistened in the light, and when our eyes met I felt as if I was being in to his soul. 

So many questions I wanted to ask,

"Who are you?" 

He looked at me his expression changing,

You're- one of us?

I heard his voice in my head and was shocked by its huskiness and the fact that well, I could hear his voice- in my head.

"How did you-" Another gun shot and I watched as the wolf started to get up whimpering when it stood on its leg.

"At least let me help." I stated stepping forward but he quickly snarled.

No- I have to go. Now.

I looked at him in shock.

"But I have so many questions- please."

He just shook his head,

Not here- not now.

I blinked.

"Then when, when can we meet again? I have to know."

I'll contact you.

Before I had the chance to say anything he quickly began to head off in the other direction away from the loud gunshots and shouting.

"Wait! At least give me your name!" I called after, my mind going a mile a minute.

He just turned towards me giving me a knowing look before turning around and disappearing into the darkness of the woods. 

I sat there dazed.

I couldn't believe it. There were others. 

Others like me.

I thought back to the guy who attacked me,

So he's the one attacking innocent people.

But what about that other one, the black one?

He had helped which meant he was on my side, right?

I clutched my head, too many things floating, but completely stopped when a thought crossed my mind.

Luhan.

Just before those bullies had taken him off somewhere. 

Oh no.

I quickly jumped up.

No. No. No.

I couldn't believe that I had forgotten.

How could I be so careless.

Growling at myself I raced back as fast as I could.

Please Luhan be alright. Please.

Looking over my shoulder only once, the wolf's voice echoing in my mind over and over again. I didn't know much, but I knew one thing. I had his name.

It felt as if my whole world was about to change.

Again.
