Foreword
She ran down the dark halls turning corners as the foot steps behind her quickened. She was turning red…air barely making it to her lungs. She clung to the short breathes she could catch. She held her chest as she continued dashing through rooms and halls. She could hear the amount of footsteps behind her increasing. She was still running making her way to the stairs without thinking twice.
She dashed up the stairs skipping two at a time sometimes miraculously skipping three when she could. She was beginning to wonder why she was even bothering. She knew she couldn’t hang on to those short breathes for much longer.
As she spun around corners she could see things going out of focus… she reached the last door and stopped…She couldn’t even properly inhale. She didn’t hear footsteps and that eased her for a second. But her mind was completely blank. Nothing went in and nothing went out. She was mindless at this point, her hand reaching for the door knob. The cold metal sent a chill up her hand and she turned it swiftly. She exited on to the roof and the scene was blurry… the crisp fall air wisped through her hair.
She took two steps though she couldn’t see a thing. But as the cool air began to wake her out of the fog her eyes focused in.
*GASP*
About 40 guys standing on the roof facing her…and at the center there “He” was…They all walked closer, not one person out of sync…but he broke that chain when he continued to come closer and closer. She panicked and her body disobeyed. She couldn’t move but that wasn’t what scared her. It was the chilling look in his eyes as he came closer.
He stopped a couple of feet away and raised his right hand…Her eyes widened as she looked down the barrel of a shiny silver pistol…She took a deep breathe but instead grabbed her chest knowing that she couldn’t fully complete the action.
He pressed the gun to her forehead making sure to stare deep into her eyes. She wasn’t breathing, she couldn’t
