So here I go with chapter 8 and Yunjae’s POV… Sorry if it took long, college is being a little prick lol~

We ended up with Junhee getting in a bit of annoyed with the situation and excuses himself to the bathroom. Now we go forth to the next happenings~ ^^

8. Helping Out A Friend

“Sure, don’t be too long though.” Yuchun reminded his roommate as Junhee was already walking towards the bathroom door.

After Junhee closed the door behind him, Yuchun turned to me without his usual carefree smile, but instead looked a bit serious as he began to speak, “You know, Junhee’s a really good friend of mine and I want him to be happy. I assume you already know about him, right?”

I just gave a slight nod, staring at him expressionless. I think he’s trying to send a message about him liking my best friend. I’m guessing that he already knows about Junhee’s feelings for me in the past that he’s simply trying to tell me to back off.

“I see. Well, since you’re in a relationship, I want to ask how you and Siwon got together from best friends to lovers.” Yuchun said to me solemnly, half-smiling as he rested his chin onto his hand while his elbow rested on top of the table.

“You’re asking me for a love advice?” I asked, raising my brow a bit.

Yuchun nods, speaking again quite softly this time, “Well yeah. I’m hoping to know your secret to success.”

I already knew who he was referring to, but I assume that either he’s playing safe or he doesn’t really know that I’m aware of him liking Junhee. “Tell me who this person is first, then I’ll give you a piece of advice.” I told him, half-grinning with my hands behind my head as I waited for his answer for a few moments of silence, watching him look unsure if he was going to tell me.

“All right… It’s Junhee.” He confessed, letting out a sigh and looking a bit shy. He was looking down at his plate as he added, “You can tell him since he already knows about it. I confessed that I’m beginning to like him more than a friend, but he told me that he needs to figure out his own heart first.”

I just nodded at him, already knowing this secret of his before he even told me through Junhee. Somehow, after hearing this in Yuchun’s voice made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Not to the fact that he likes men, but because he likes my best friend from what I understood. Yeah, I guess it’s because I felt protective over Junhee nowadays.

Yuchun lightly chuckled, “So, any piece of advice to help a guy out?”

“Well – “

Before I could speak, we turned our heads to the bathroom door’s direction. Junhee got out and closed the door behind him, looking like his usual quiet self, wearing a simple smile as he went back to his seat.

“Sorry, I felt like I really needed to go a while ago. Did I miss anything?” Junhee asked us with curious eyes, glancing at the both of us.

“Not really, just us guys sharing stuff.” Yuchun answered him, smirking while he looked at Junhee and then me.

“Yup.” I added, crossing my arms over my chest.

Junhee sighed, grabbing the glass of water, “Okay.”

I looked at my watch and realized that I overstayed my visit, so I slowly stood up, smiling as I spoke to them, “Ya, thanks for dinner again. I’ll be going now.”

“I’ll help you out.” Junhee volunteered, standing up from his seat. I noticed Yuchun’s eyes looking up at him as he went beside me.

“All right. I’ll clean the dishes then. Take care, Yunjae. Talk to you next time.” Yuchun bid, waving at me slightly before turning away and going to the kitchen.

I waved back and followed Junhee out of the apartment.

Outside, I stood beside the road, waiting for a taxi with Junhee standing behind me. I could tell that he wanted to say something to me, so I turned around to face him and noticed his anxious-looking face.

“Ya, what’s up with that face?” I asked him as I pointed my forefinger up to his cheek, slightly touching it.

Junhee responded, looking like he doesn’t know anything while he slightly backed away from me, “What face?”

I sighed, placing my hand onto my waist, looking at him, “That face you make when you want to say something, so speak.”

“I really don’t know what – “

“Junhee-ah, we’ve been together ever since. I know you well and I know you when you want to say something.”

After hearing my words, Junhee blinked a few times while he glanced away from me, but looked at me again as he carefully explained,  “I just wanted to ask… when you two were alone, did he say something?”

“Not really, he just wanted to ask me for advice.” I replied.

“Advice for what?”

“The love kind.”

Junhee nodded, rubbing the back of his head, “Aissh… That guy’s such a chatterbox these days. I’m worried that he might really be serious about this.”

I took a step closer to him, staring at Junhee keenly as I asked him in a soft manner, “Why, aren’t you at least bit interested in him?”

He gazed back, looking like a child that’s been caught red-handed. Junhee replied, “I already told you, I’m still not sure.”

“What if he tells you that he’s fallen in love with you next time? What will you do?”

“Why are you interested about this anyway?”

I sighed heavily, looking down at the ground, placing my hands into my pockets before answering his question, “I’m only looking out for my best friend.”

Junhee slowly looked away from me, folding his arms over his chest as he spoke, “It’s not a big deal and I’m the one dealing with it so don’t worry about me too much.”

A taxi cab finally parked near us before any of us could speak again. We only looked at each other silently, bowing our heads and then I got inside the taxi cab, with our eyes still staring at each other ‘til the cab disappeared from Junhee’s sight and ‘til he faded from mine.

As the car drives its way to my apartment, I still felt this uneasiness inside me. I wasn’t sure if it was because of Yuchun’s feelings for my best friend or because I might have said something to Junhee that isn’t what I really wanted to tell him. I didn’t really know what to think. These past few days have been rough for me, from my hyung’s confession on his feelings still lingering on to Siwon, to Junhee’s confession about his past feelings and his new friend’s interest in him getting deeper. Even Siwon felt something different between us ever since we committed ourselves to each other.

I also am confirming to myself now that I’m unsure with my current feelings.
