"Jinnie this isn't funny!" Soomi called down the now empty hallway.

 

The students had since gone to their next classes and Jinri was nowhere to be found.

 

The girl flitted down the hall and around the corner. Nothing.

 

"What am I going to do?" She sobbed and sunk to the floor. Her head fell to her hands.

 

"Ahn Soomi?"

 

Her head picked up.

 

"Are you lost?" A boy with a baby face and a heavy accent leaned over her. Soomi jumped.

 

"No." She retorted and scrambled to her feet. "Maybe. Why is this school so big?"

 

The boy smiled to himself. "There's a lot of us here."

 

"I don't think I'll ever be able to navigate this place." Soomi sighed and pushed her hair back behind her ears.

 

"You'll get the hang of it." The boy shook his head. "I'll take you to your next class."

 

"Really?" She asked, eyes wide.

 

"Of course." He reached his hand out for her paper schedule. He inspected it and grabbed onto her wrist, pulling her down the hall.

 

Soomi followed him diligently.

 

"I like your accent." She said lightly. "Busan?"

 

"Yes, ma'am." He grinned. "I came all the way here for school."

 

"Wow." She nodded. "Learning must be very important to you."

 

"Not really." He shrugged. "My mom is just really overbearing."

 

"Mine too." She said quietly.

 

"Here we are." He stopped in front of a classroom and returned her schedule to her.

 

"Thank you very much." Soomi bowed quickly and scurried into the room.

 

"I'm-" The boy started. "Too late."

 

He rubbed the back of his neck and sprinted off to class.
