When you first reminiscence about the past, what do you think of? Your hometown, your school, your get away place? Or maybe it's a 'who' you think of. Perhaps a family member, a friend, or a first love? And what exactly triggers this hidden memory in our mind? An image? A sound? Maybe a song? When one of the maknaes reminiscences, it sometimes isn't about what she wants to remember.
*flashback*
"Oppa, help me! I lost my doll in the river beds by the rice fields!" A six year old Joohyun pointed a stubby finger to the area mentioned.
"Arraseo. Just wait, okay?" The boy groaned, annoyed to be pulled away form the production of his paper airplane. Once he was finished with his creation, he set it free, letting dance with the wind. He turned to see a troubled girl before his eyes. He looked down at the girl. His bangs slightly covered his eyes, allowing him to see 3/4 of her. She stared back at him with nervous eyes.
"So where's your stupid doll?" He grumbled. Joohyun's eyes widened as a gasp left her lips.
"Yah, oppa! She's not stupid!" She placed her hands on her hips.
"It's a lifeless bundle of cotton. What good does it do?" He winced as Joohyun smacked his chest.
"She maybe be inanimate, but she's a lot nicer than you!" She stuck her tongue out and focused on the now traveling doll. Realizing it was going downstream, she shrieked before jumping into the water, following her floating doll. The boy could only watch as his friend clumsily flopped into the deep water. He immediately hopped into the river when he saw her head disappearing beneath the surface. He quickly caught up to her and wrapped an arm around her waist. With his taller height giving him a slight advantage, he gathered all his strength and crawled out of the river. Joohyun in one arm, the doll in the other.
The boys waited anxiously in the waiting room of the hospital. He got up, paced back and forth, then sat down. Got up, to and fro, sat down. Repeat. His foot tapped against the tiled floor, much to the dismay of others. His heartbeat was irregular and he felt more nervous than ever, although he was only the age of nine. He peered out the window, waiting for both their parents to come. The nice nurse lady had given
