Just Do It
Florescence of LoveA few days later, during the long break, Areum sat at her desk with her friends, with the other two girls were looking through a magazine. Her gaze fell upon one of the dresses the model was wearing. It was a cute, pastel pink dress with a vintage flower pattern, ending just above the knees. Combined with the small, white cardigan, it looked absolutely adorable, still giving off a feminine yet classy feel. It was really pretty, but Areum knew she'd never buy such a dress. When her gaze fell upon the price, that thought was affirmed.
Other than the mind-blowing price, it was something that would rot in her wardrobe because there were no occasions to wear it. Besides, Areum never liked spending too much time on dressing up, so she would never bother to do her hair so that it'd match the dress. It's so pretty though. She thought, a heavy sigh leaving her lips, as she averted her gaze.
She looked out the window and watched the cherry blossom petals that were flying around in the air. Soon that beautiful sight wouldn't be there anymore as the cherry blossom trees' florescence ended after one week. It was a pity that it didn't last longer ... With a jolt, Areum stood up from her chair, startling Yura and Minah. "I'm going to the schoolyard," she mumbled in response to the wondering looks in her friends' faces. Knowing that the two girls didn't like going outside, she sauntered out the classroom without to glance back.
Since the beautiful scenery was going to disappear in a few days, she needed to take in as much as possible of their beauty while she was still able to. With that thought, the girl made her way to the schoolyard. Just as she opened the door, a soft wind tousled her hair; and she breathed in deeply. A smile tugged at her lips as she stared at all the cherry blossom petals in the air. As she was the first student who arrived in the schoolyard, she could enjoy the nature in its fullest beauty.
Feeling content, she looked for the big tree, as that one was the most comfortable to lean against and quickly found it. Having sat down, she took out her sketch pad and grabbed a pencil. In front of her inner-eye, she could see the dress from the magazine again, and automatically the pencil moved over the paper.
The sketch of the dress was quickly finished and she looked up again, seeing that by now more students were in the yard. A small figure caught her attention and she sat up straighter. The figure was a girl from the dance club who was just practicing a few steps. It was classic ballet, and the way the girl moved absolutely intrigued Areum. The smooth movements flowed perfectly into each other, looking so amazing that Areum unconsciously raised her pencil and quickly sketched it on her paper.
Her eyes followed the girl's steps as she roughly scrawled figures on the paper, trying to catch up with the swiftness of the girl's movements. Soon though, the dancer halted and walked away.
Areum sighed contently as she put away her pencil, looking at the sketches on her paper. How wonderful did it feel to be able to move so smoothly? She honestly wondered. I wish– “What're you doing?” A voice suddenly said next to her ear and the girl shot up in instinct, hitting her elbow at the tree bark and mewling. “Don't you ever do that again!” She angrily said as she turned around pointed at the male in front of her.
Baekhyun was grinning at her apologetically, rubbing his neck, looking quite adorable. “Sorry,” he said.
The lass' eyes softened at the smile he was giving her. A chuckle left her lips. “It's okay.”
Instead of continuing their conversation, the male grabbed her sketch pad and eyed it curiously as he flipped through it. “Stop it!” Areum called out, her cheeks reddening as she grew embarrassed at the thought of him seeing the drawing of the dress. “Wow, a ballerina?” She heard Baekhyun ask and sighed relieved that he wasn’t asking about the dress.
Areum tilted her head. “Yeah, a girl from the dance club just practiced a bit over there …” she trailed off and gnawed on her lips. “And I was so amazed by her movements, so yeah,” she added, rubbing her neck. “No need to feel so uncomfortable 'bout it. It looks amazing and I'm sure the dancer would be happy to see the sketches,” Baekhyun said and smiled at her.
The girl couldn’t help but believe his words, for they sounded so honest and straight-forward. “Maybe.” It was nice of him to tell her people would be happy to see her drawings of them, but Areum knew that many people didn’t like that. Still, she couldn’t help but believe what he said. Was it the way he looked at her when he sai
