Daddy- Mobile
Dad of the Year“Faster Daddy, faster.” I heard my daughter before I saw her. My husband lumbered into the room, swinging one leg out awkwardly. Our little girl clung to his leg, squealing in glee as he made his way over to the couch, flopping onto the cushion with an exhausted sigh.
“Okay, rides over.”
My daughter unwound herself from Yongguk’s leg with a disappointed whine.
“Go get your leap pad.” I told her, and she darted back into her room to retrieve her electronic toy.
“Daddy needs a break.” Yongguk stretched out on the sofa, lifting his hat to scratch under it.
I perched lightly on his stomach and patted his chest. “It’s a good workout. Daddies are the number one source of transportation for little girls.”
“I thought that’s why we bought her a bike.” He wound his arms around my waist.
“Before you know it, we’re gonna have to take the training wheels off. We’ve got barely a little over a decade before she’s asking for a car.”
The blank look on his face told me that he was disturbed at the prospect of his baby girl growing up. “I think I can handle being Daddy-mobile a little while longer.”
