Sixteen in July
The Ballad of Minho and KeySo for this one listen to Sixteen in July. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXaz-0-RMag This one is written in the POV of Key and he's reminiscing, telling Minho about the most important summer of his life. (Also not sure when people get their licsences in Korea but in America it's 16, so here, Key got it when he was 16) Hope you enjoy^^
What was is like for you? Well I can definitely tell you what it was like for me.
To be sixteen in July, there's nothing better. When you're sixteen in July, you can drive.
There is, what feels like, infinite freedom.
I was sixteen in July. There was no one to stop me from going where I wanted to go.
There was nothing but Summer in front of me. But, in the beginning there was no one to enjoy it with me.
I would take long drives and turn on the radio and just listen.
I would listen to the terrible reception, the crackle, but I knew there was nothing to worry about because I was sixteen.
Sixteen in July
With license in your hand,
And freedom on your mind.
If you're sixteen in July
Sixteen in July
With summer to your left
And no one to your right
For me, it went so fast. But is was wonderful.
The girl I dated, believe it or not, was new in town and we would drive around in my old car.
Minho, were you in love like me? I mean, as in love as you possibly can be....when you're sixteen.
Minho listened to his crush weave the tale of that summer, but behind the good memories, was saddness. He knew Key didn't love the girl he dated. He knew that Key only dated her to please his father, who wanted to suppress what "disease" he believed his own son had. Minho knew Key had spent that summer hiding.
I was sixteen in July
Sixteen in July
With summer to your left
And no one to your right
Minho then stood up took Key's right hand and kissed his cheek. They went for a drive and Key knew that he had someone to his right and he felt freer than ever.
A/N: It's been too long. Hope you enjoyed! This is one of my favorites.
