Chapter 22

"Yah! What are you doing?!?"

"You're coming back."

"Let go of me!"

He didn't listen and kept pulling you along.

You twisted your wrist out of his grasp.

He turned around and glared at you.

"Come on. . . "

"No! I had enough!"

"What's wrong with you?"

Both of you were standing in the rain.

You were staring at the ground, to scared to look at L.

L's expression softened.

"Tell me. . . Why don't you want to come with me?"

"Because. . . "

L took your hand, but you jerked away and faced him and yelled, "Because I'm such a burden to you and Infinite!"

You were sobbing.

"What are you talking about. You are not a burden."'

"Yes I am! I cause Infinite so much trouble. I didn't want you guys to worry about me, so that's why I ran away. I don't want to -"

But before you can finish what you were saying, L grabbed your chin and his lips crashed into your's.

Your eyes widen.

You mumbled against his lips, "What. . . are you. . .doing?"

His lips left yours. You felt a little bit disappointed, but you couldn't help but replay that part in your head over and over.

He kissed me again. . .

You stared at the ground again, blushing.

"Why did you do that?"

"So you would stop crying. I hate it when people cry."

He grabbed your hand again, but this time you didn't pull away.

L smiled to himself.

You guys walked back to the house.

When L opened the door, Infinite was pacing around the house. They looked so worried, but when they saw you and L walk through the door, they ran over and nearly killed you with a hug.

"Oh My God! Don't EVER do that again!"

"I'm sorry. . . "

"Hell yeah you should be sorry!"

Before any of them could start nagging you, L said, "Let her rest."

They nodded their heads.

"Oh wait. Why is your face all red?"

You touched your cheek. You blushed even more.

"Uhhh. . . The rain. . . "

They looked at you in amusement.

You quickly ran upstairs, hiding your embarrassed face.
