CHAPTER THREE.
My Obsession.
Today was our second day of training and Mrs. Kim was ten times worse today. I swear… it seems like she always has a stick up her ! After 6 hours of training, she decides to call it a day. She made sure Jiyong stayed behind and clean up all the practice room. I felt bad that he has to do it for a week. Youngbae went to the café shop near the building to wait for Jiyong. I decided to help Jiyong out since it was my fault. I entered the room where he was working.
“Oh. You’re still here Jinhee?” He asked me.
“I thought I should help you since I got you here in the first place.” I replied.
“Don’t worry about it. I was the one who offered my shoes to you.” He smiled at me.
He had such a nice smile. Snap out of it Jinhee… you’re here to help him out since you got him in trouble.
“It’s fine. I’ll help you out. Two hands will make it quicker.” I replied.
“You sure?”
“Positive.” I smiled at him and grabbed another broom and started helping him out.
“You should go clean the other room. I’ll clean this one and clean the other ones and we’ll be done.”
“Okay.” I replied and went to the other room and cleaned.
After half an hour, we were finally done. I waited for him to pack up his things and we headed towards the elevator.
“Thanks for helping.”
“No problem. Thanks for giving me your shoes.”
“No problem. You want to go grab something to eat with Youngbae and I?”
“I can’t. I have to go to my grandparents. Next time? And it’ll be my treat.” I told him.
“Alright. Do you want us to walk you home?”
“Ani. My oppa is coming to pick me up. Do you want a ride?”
“It’s cool. Youngbae and I are going to go eat and go take care of something.”
“Ah I see.” I replied and we stepped out of the elevator and walked towards the entrance.
“You’re good.” He told me.
“Huh?”
“At dancing. You’re really good.”
“Thank you. So are you. Youngbae too!” I grinned.
“We know.” He smirked at me.
“Way to be humble.” I .
“Whatever.” He stuck his tongue out at me and I saw my oppa in front.
“I have to go now. I’ll see you tomorrow.” I waved at him and ran towards my brother.
“Who was that?”
“Another trainee. The one who gave me his shoes.”
“Ah. He looks like a punk.”
“Oppa! He’s nice.” I smiled.
“Seems like someone has a crush on a certain punk.”
“Do not! We’re just friends!”
“That’s how it all begins.” Oppa laughed.
“Whatever. Let’s just go home!”
The next few weeks went by really quickly… surprisingly. And to my surprise, Mrs. Kim wasn’t that bad. She started warming up to the three of us and she was actually cool. She knows how to joke and she’s very nice to us. She just told us she had to be like that because that’s how the entertainment world will be like. The three of us have gotten a lot closer. We were like the three musketeers! Youngbae and Jiyong were very sweet and funny. They were dorky to an extent. I couldn’t help but feel something towards Jiyong. I don’t know why but I just find him so attractive. I decided to keep my crush a secret. I didn’t want it to ruin our friendship. I’m glad that I have two friends like them. Today was our last day with Mrs. Kim.
“Can’t you be our mentor until we debut?” I whined.
“Yeah. We love you! Can’t you just keep on teaching us?” Youngbae joined in.
“What are we going to do without you?” Jiyong pouted.
“Look at you kids! You act like I’m leaving you for good! I’m just done with what I have to teach you kids. Now it’s time for you guys to learn a different field. I’ll still be here if you guys need me.” Mrs. Kim told us.
“How’s our next mentor then?” I asked.
“You’ll see.” She smiled at me.
“But it’s not going to be the same.” I pouted.
“Stop pouting! You and Jiyong need to stop doing that face. It’s not going to work on me.” She told me.
“So what are we going to learn next?” Youngbae asked.
“For the next few months, you guys will be learning to dance some more but different types of dancing. In between those months, you guys will be having a vocal coach.” She told us.
“But I don’t sing! I just rap!” Jiyong whined.
“Yah! Are you a gangster or something?! Stop rapping and learn how to sing!” I .
“I don’t sing. Singing are for losers!” He told me.
“You’re the loser here! You wannabe gangster!” I stuck my tongue out at him.
“Why you-” He said and Mrs. Kim cut in.
“Leave your love quarrel at home.” She teased us.
“WE WEREN’T HAVING A LOVE QUARREL!” Both of us shouted and Youngbae and Mrs. Kim just laughed.
“Whatever you kids say. As I was saying, you guys will meet your mentors tomorrow. You guys are done for the day so go home and rest up.” She said.
“De.” The three of us replied.
The three of us were packing up and I felt someone pushing my head. It was Kwon Jiyong.
“Yah! What was that for?” I shouted at him.
“That was for calling me a wannabe gangster.” He smirked at me.
“Well you are one if you haven’t noticed. Look at the way you’re dressed.” I smirked at him.
“Oh yeah. Well at least I’m not some tom boy looking girl!” He replied back.
“Yah! Are you calling me a boy?!”
“So what if I am?” He smirked at me.
“You jerk!” I glared at him and kick him in the shins and ran off.
“YAH TOM BOY… GET BACK HERE!”
“Never you wannabe gangster! Catch me if you can.” I shouted back and ran out of the room and into the elevator.
Even if Jiyong and I acted like this, we’re still really close friends. We just like to tease each other. This was how we acted. We were comfortable around each other. Same goes with Youngbae. But it did kind of hurt when he called me a tom boy looking girl. Am I really that unattractive to him? I got off the elevator but didn’t notice someone blocking my way. I looked up and saw Jiyong and Youngbae in front of me. Jiyong had a smirk on his face.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
“H-home?” I smiled sheepishly at him.
“Not on my watch.” He replied.
“Yah. Youngbae. Are you going to let him do something to me?”
“Sorry Jinhee. You started this.” He smiled at me.
“I thought you were my friend!” I pouted.
“I am but I’m not getting involved. You guys fight it out.” Youngbae said and walked off.
“You’re such a great friend!” I shouted sarcastically after him.
“Do you have anything to tell me?” Jiyong asked me.
“Get out of my way?” I smiled at him.
“Nope. Try again. I’ll give you three chances. You have two left.”
“Can you please move so I can go home?”
“One more.”
“I’ll kick you in the shins again if you don’t move!” I told him and he just shook his head.
“What am I going to do with you Jinhee.” He said and took my bag and ran off with it.
“YAH WHERE ARE YOU GOING WITH MY BAG?!” I ran after him.
“You can’t have your bag today. You’ll get it back tomorrow as your punishment.” He yelled back and laughed.
“GET BACK HERE KWON JIYONG!” I shouted after him.
“Bye Jinhee!” He laughed and got into a cab and it drove off.
That jerk! Where is he going with my backpack! I have all my things in there! Wait until I get my hands on him!!! But a part of me couldn’t help but laugh at our playful banter. It made me feel good that Jiyong and I were comfortable with each other to be able to be like this. It gave me a warm feeling and I liked it. At the age of 12, I met Kwon Jiyong and developed feelings for him.
