Unknown Fate
Devil's Breath *HIATUS*“What do you mean by me?” Seohyun asked. “I meant what I said. You brought us here.” Changmin answered. Seohyun let
out a fake laugh. “Nice joke, Changmin. But seriously, why did you bring us here?” Seohyun asked. “I’m being serious,
Seohyun. You brought us here. I’m not joking.” Changmin said seriously. “I-I did?” Changmin nodded slowly. “B-But how? I
don’t have any powers. I’m just a mere human.” Seohyun said. “Oh but you do. Do you remember that blue light before we
came here?” Changmin asked. Seohyun nodded. “That was your power. And you’re not just a mere human. I’m not exactly
sure what you are. Remember when the night we first met?” Seohyun nodded. “When I finished feeding on you, your body
did something strange.” Changmin told her. “What do you mean ‘something strange’?” Seohyun asked. Changmin sighed
heavily. “Let me show you.” He stepped forward and placed his hand over Seohyun’s forehead. Changmin’s memories
flowed into her.
Changmin’s memory:
“Do you sense it?” His brother asked. Changmin sniffed the air. He nodded and said, “Yes I do, brother. The scent is very
sweet smelling.” Yunho smiled at his younger brother. “You’re getting better. Now. Close your eyes and imagine the smell.
What do you see?” Changmin closed his eyes. An image of a young girl appeared in his mind. She had long brown curly
hair. He couldn’t see her face. “I see a woman. She appears to be in her early 20’s. Brother, just thinking about her makes
my mouth water. Can we please stop this training and go feed?” Changmin asked impatiently. “You’re so impatient.” Yunho
hissed. “Can we?” Changmin asked again. “Fine. But go through the trees and make sure no one is around the girl. We
mustn’t have our secret discovered.” Yunho told Changmin. Changmin nodded and darted off into the darkness. Within
minutes, Changmin had reached where the young girl was. "I'm coming!" said the girl. She hung up her phone and began to
hurry out of the park. Changmin chuckled. “You should never go out at night alone.” Changmin jumped from one tree to
another. The girl stopped walking. She turned around and let out a sigh of relief. She began to pick up her pace. Changmin
jumped to another tree. The girl stopped and turned around again. "Seohyun...Don’t worry...you're just imagining things..."
She told herself. She continued to make her way out of the park. “I’m in the mood to play with my food today.” Changmin
thought to himself. He let out an evil chuckle. The girl stopped, turned and glanced around until her eyes landed on
Changmin. "Look what we found here! Fresh blood!" Changmin laughed again. His brother appeared at his side and yelled
in a stern voice, “Changmin-ah! Don’t scare her!” Changmin took off on the branch and appeared behind Seohyun. He
began to taunt her about her blood. A thirsty sensation began to itch at his throat. He couldn’t contain his thirst. He
bent to her neck and bit her. Sweet blood gushed into his body, soothing his throat. Fear. That was the emotion his prey
was feeling. Changmin gulped down the delicious liquid quickly. “Seohyun!” A female voice called out. Changmin eyed his
brother. Yunho nodded and took care of the female. After a few more minutes of feeding, Changmin could feel the girl’s
slipping conscious. "Changmin-ah! Hurry up before you kill her!" Yunho yelled out. With that said, Changmin let go of
Seohyun and she dropped to the ground. Her curly hair was sprawled all around her head, leaving her neck bare. Changmin
wiped the blood from his mouth and smiled in satisfaction. He glanced down at the girl he had just feasted on. Her neck was
bloody from his feast. “Hurry and clean your mess before any other humans comes by. I will take care of this one.” Yunho
carried the female away, leaving Changmin and his prey alone. As he knelt down, something caught his attention. His bite
marks were disappearing. “Yunho! Come and look at this!” Changmin called to his brother. Yunho appeared by his side in a
matter of seconds. Yunho and Changmin watched at the wound miraculously healed. “I-Is this girl not human?” Changmin
asked. "I-I have no idea, but we better clean up and get out of here before. I sense a human close by." Yunho said as he
reached for the girl’s head, taking away her memories from the incident. Changmin lifted his prey and laid her on a nearby
bench. Changmin cleaned her neck off. "Changmin! Let's go!" Yunho called. Changmin glanced up and got to his feet. He
gazed at the girl once more and took off with Yunho in the dark of the night.
Changmin pulled his hand away from Seohyun. She opened up her eyes. “So…That’s what happened to my wound? How is
that possible?” Seohyun asked. Changmin shrugged. “Do you know anything about your heritage?” “Well…Before any of
this happened, I was supposed to be a human but I guess I’m not anymore.” Seohyun responded. “So you don’t know where
your powers come from?” Changmin asked. Seohyun shook her head. Changmin thought to himself about possibilities of
why Seohyun had powers. Then he found a logical explanation. “Seohyun, do you by any chance take pills or any medicine
of that sort?” Changmin asked. “Yes. Iron supplements. I’m anemic.” Seohyun answered. Changmin contemplated for a
couple of seconds. “Do you happen to have your supplements with you?” He asked. Seohyun nodded and reached into her
purse. She fished around until her hands found her pills. She pulled them out and handed them to Changmin. Changmin
examined the bottle very carefully. “I don’t think you’re anemic, Seohyun.” Changmin said. “I am anemic I’ve always been
anemic ever since I was young.” Seohyun argued. “When was the last time you took these?” He asked. Seohyun thought
over the past year. “Probably for a couple of months. I’ve been so busy that I’ve forgotten to take them every day.” Seohyun
replied. Changmin held up the bottle. “I think these pills may have been suppressing your powers.” Changmin said. Seohyun
shook her head. “I don’t agree with you.” She disagreed. “I’m going to go to my family doctor and see what he has to say
about these pills.” Changmin told Seohyun. “Are you sure it’s safe to leave me alone here?” Seohyun asked, afraid. “Yeah.
You’ll be fine. I’ll put a barrier over this area so you’ll be safe.” Changmin reassured her. “Okay but please be quick. I don’t
like being here. It gives me the creeps.” Seohyun stated. “Yah. This is where I was born and raised. Don’t diss my
homeland.” Changmin defended. Seohyun giggled. Changmin closed his eyes, accessed his power, and summoned a
barrier. “I’ll be back quickly.” Changmin patted Seohyun on the head and disappeared in a portal. Seohyun sat down in the
small crevice. “I hope he hurries back.” Seohyun sighed heavily. She closed her eyes and rested her head against the hard
rock wall. Seohyun heard nothing but silence. When she was on the verge of sleep, she heard a voice. “Hello, Seohyun-sii.”
A male voice greeted Seohyun. Seohyun opened up her eyes abruptly and found a man towering above her. “Y-Yunho?”
Seohyun gasped.

To clarify, a hybrid is a thing that is half one thing and half another thing and Seohyun is of good and bad descent. Don't worry! Her heritage
will become clearer very soon! I know this is a boring chapter but it will pick up in the next one! Why do you think Seohyun needs pills to
suppress her powers? I hope you enjoyed this chapter! ^^ Don't forget to comment! I love reading them! No silent readers! Thank you
for reading! (:
Oh and btw..isn't Seohyun's hair style cute? It makes her look younger!
