Mission: Cancelled?
The Darkest Light and a Single Bullet
Seo ____'s POV:
I got a phone call that day after Myungsoo left me.
I answered it and it was Eunkwang.
"You're coimg home now," he commanded harshly.
"What?!?! Why?!?!? I didn't even finish my mission!" I screamed.
"Your mission is cancelled. It's too dangerous for you to be out with only Teen Top adn there should be more reinforcements here. Be here in under 10 minutes. If not, you're in trouble," he curtly answered as he ended the call.
I couldn't ignore his orders, so I told Teen Top to pack up.
We were leaving and a month didn't even pass.
We arrived back at the place that I called home.
Even though I didn't stay at my apartment for a long duration, I still felt more cozy there.
Coming back here, it felt different.
Days past by and I had my usual routine.
Train, eat, sleep, and train.
I no longer had my freedom.
Now that I knew what it was like out there, I felt even more restrained from everyone.
But what bothered me the most is the fact that Myungsoo's face keeps appearing in my mind.
My target that got away.
I wish that my life was normal.
When I was younger and I didn;t have to learn to be a killer, I had a collection of fairy tales.
Later when I was 15 years old, I burned all of them except for one.
The Little Mermaid.
It was one of the only stories where the girl didn't end up with the prince.
For those of you that don't know the real story it goes like this.
There was a mermaid, Ariel, that fell inlove with a human who was a prince.
In order to actually meet the prince, she went to a witch and compromised that she would give the witch her beautiful voice for a human form.
If the prince didn't fall inlove with her, then she would turn into sea foam.
It was agreed and the mermaid became a mute human.
Later in the tale, the prince falls inlove with someone else.
Ariel's sisters come find her and they are all bald.
They had given their hair in exchange for a knife that the mermaid would have to use so she could live and become a mermaid once more.
She took the knife and crept into the prince's room where he was sleeping with his fiancee.
Ariel then threw the knife into the sea and she vanished into sea foam.
Sad right?
But touching.
It was the only book that didn't portray a happy ending.
That same book is on my lap right now.
With me reading it.
I sacrificed some of my mission for him when he had a girlfriend.
Like Ariel.
I closed the book and placed in back onto the shelf.
Why is it so hard?
Just to live while forgetting.
I've always lived ridiculing all of the dramas that had 'crybaby' characters until now.
Kim Myungsoo's POV:
I left her, but that doesn't mean that my heart stopped beating for her.
I snuck over to her apartment building to see if she's okay.
I looked inside and saw nothing except furniture.
All of her things, gone.
Where did she go?
Leaving me.
Oh yeah, I left her.
I let out a dry mocking laugh.
Running my fingers through my hair, I let out multiple deep breaths.
It's fully over.
She's gone.
I couldn't catch her or even stop her.
I don't even know where she is.
But if she comes back again, I won't be able to contain myself.
I would be running towards her again.
I squeezed my eyes shut to contain all of my sadness.
This was the end of her.
......For now.
