Chapter 23: Wondering

Yun's POV:

I stare out the window, as the plane's wheels are just lifting off the ground.

My stomach starts to feel nausea.

Whether it's from the fact that I'm soon going to be so far up in the sky that I won't be able to see down below, or if it's the fact that I'll be leaving all my friends, and him for a whole year.

I sigh and rest my head against the back of the seat, taking in my surroundings.

Everyone's fast asleep.

I close my eyes trying to fall asleep, but it doesn't work.

Whenever I close my eyes all I can see is the plane crashing, leading us to our doom never to see my friends or him again...

Was this the right choice?

I mean...I did tell him I was leaving...

"You okay?" Chunji asks, taking a seat beside me.

I nod. "Never better." I say.

"We both know that's a lie. Come on Yun, we're friends aren't we? You can tell me anything." Chunji says.

I look over at Chunji in surprise.

Never in the 2 years of being a mentor did he say we were friends...

Not even in the 6 months of living with him did he once call us friends...

And now?

I've finally broken through his tough exterior!

I give Chunji a small and nudge him playfully.

"What was that again?" I ask, smiling.

"I said you can tell me anything." Chunji repeats.

"No, before that." I say.

"That we were...I'm not repeating that." Chunji says and turns away from me.

"Oh come on Chunji!" I whine. "That was so nice of you! I consider us friends too!" I say
