Lightening the Way

Blue Moon

The ground rumbled. It sounded like a hungry stomach ready to eat anything in its path to fill the growing pains. Suho stopped with a heavy sigh as Lay followed suit, “Times almost up, if we can’t find them now, we probably will never find them.” Suho frowned and looked at the ground. He felt overwhelming grief and he felt ashamed in his self for not being able to save the others.
Lay placed a hand on his shoulder. “Let’s just walk a little further. Maybe they are some people that are alive at the city.” Lay tired to sound hopefully, but there was no way for someone to survive that, the city was demolished head to toe.
They made it to the outskirts of their once beautiful city. There was no one around for miles. Lay couldn’t see anyone. Suho stepped over a few mounds of rubble, examining the disaster.  There was no one besides a few scattered dead, most of which were just crushed ligaments of a former being. Suho looked away in disgust and sorrow. He couldn’t save them and he couldn’t help but feel guilty for it. Lay followed his gaze. Being able to look was the repulsive objects with less guilt and disgust; Lay was able to at the very least take notice that they were none of their friends.
Lay looked at Suho, giving him a hopeful look. If they weren’t here, that meant they were else where, maybe even already waiting for them back at camp.
Suho side. Despite Lay’s hopeful outlook, he knew it was too much to wish for.
The ground rumbled again, and Suho and Lay took that as a sign that it was time to go.
As they began to turn around, jumping over the mounds of buildings, there was a loud crack in the sky. Suho and Lay quickly turned their heads towards the noise. There in the sky was a streak of lightening. Lay smirked and Suho began to feel a little bit more relaxed. They scurried towards the center of where the lightening came from. They knew it had to be a friend.

Kris and Xuimin felt the rumble of the ground. The area where they stayed was suddenly no longer safe. There was loud cracking sound as the ground began to split near by. In a rush, Kris summoned his dragon grabbing the sleeping Luhan roughly laying him, stomach first, across the dragon’s back.
“Xuimin, let’s go!” Xuimin and Kris quickly perched themselves on the dragon as it leapt off the ground just in time. The area they were once relaxing at, was crumbling away.  The dirty and near by plants were falling into an never-ending abyss surely leading them towards the planet’s core.
Kris frowned at the site. At this rate, it seemed as though the planet was going to imploded on itself.
Kris directed the dragon back to the original direction they came. The scenery here didn’t look any better from when they last saw it. In fact, it looked worse. Kris tired not to focus on it and only continued to move forward, but Xuimin looked down at the earth with a frown. There were dead animals, dead plants, ripped up houses and homes. There was no such thing as living. There was nothing alive, as he examined the ground. Everything was dead.
Xuimin gulped. He had to think positive for his friends, but their lives seemed bleak. Luhan’s words repeated in his head, ‘…There aren’t many people left in the city… If they haven’t left now they won’t make it…’
Xuimin felt a knot in his stomach. He couldn’t help but have a bad feeling that he couldn’t rid. He knew his friends were in danger. The worst was knowing they couldn’t find any of them.

Kris’ dragon made it’s way back to its original spot. They were on the outskirts of the city, circling above where the crystalline tree used to root itself. Now it was gone, minus the glitter of glass like shards that decorated the ruined metropolis. Again Xuimin saw no one and nothing. Again everything was dead.
“Now what?” Kris spoke up loudly. He was annoyed, Xuimin could tell. Everything going on right now was stressful and they had no lead to go anywhere. Luhan still laid passed out from over use of his powers. Kris shook his body roughly. Luhan stil did not wake. He tried again but was stopped by Xuimin. “Enough!” He ordered to his leader. Kris looked at him with dragger eyes, but quickly backed off when he realized he was in the wrong.
Feeling apologetic but still not saying anything, Kris turned away from Xuimin. “I guess we’ll have to keep moving.” He sighed as the Dragon took off again in a direction they hadn’t tried yet.
Suddenly, there was loud crack in the sky. Xuimin and Kris turned their heads to see what it was. There was a bright flash that seemed to illuminate everything.
Xuimin couldn’t help but smile.  Kris smirked ordering the dragon to chance directions once again. “Head that way!” He point in the direction of the lightening. They knew their friend was there, waiting for them.
