On my way back home that night, I passed by a small pastry shop near where I was living. I don't know why but I was suddenly craving cupcakes despite the fact that I just ate some a while ago. They were already closing up when I got there, but when the ahjumma who probably owned the shop saw me, she gave me a chance to buy to my heart's content.

"I didn't take you as someone who's into sweets." She smiled as I got inside.

"Oh.. Not really.. It's just.." I started but didn't know how to continue.

"Is it your girlfriend's birthday today too?" She asked me as I scanned the pastries.

I paused at the word 'girlfriend' and I smiled sheepishly.

"W-what?" I managed to say and she chuckled at me.

"Sorry, it's just that I had a lot of customers buying for their girlfriends at the last minute today." She shared and I just looked at her.

At the mention of a 'she', I remembered Alyssa. She did say I could share my sweets with her anytime, right?

"She.. I.. It's not..Um.." I stammered and mentally slapped myself.

"Oh I see. She's not your girlfriend yet.." She gave me an apologetic smile and I awkwardly smiled at her, going back to selecting cupcakes since I didn't know how to respond to what she just said.

My original plan was just to buy one for myself, but everything looked so delicious and tempting that I just decided to get a whole box with one of everything they had. I silently scolded myself for buying a lot when I knew I shouldn't even be eating them.

"I hope when you drop by again, she's already your girlfriend." She winked and I smiled sheepishly at her, bowing goodbye before allowing them to continue closing their shop.

As I got in my car, the ahjumma's last words kept lingering in my head. I shook my head and sighed.

Aish.. It's that ahjumma's fault for giving me this idea..

I thought as I started my car and began to drive again. As I rounded the corner to my street, I silently prayed that she was still awake or else I'll be doomed. But luck didn't seem to be by my side since I noticed her lights were all off.

Great. How am I going to eat all these by myself?

I thought as my gaze went to the box of cupcakes sitting on the passenger seat.

I can't give these to the members.. They'll probably question me about it
