Ailing

"Just wondering, when's your birthday?" I curiously asked Lay the next day. He was lying down beside me and twirling a lock of my dark hair. Without much hesitant, Lay answered absentmindedly, "7th October 1991." I nodded my head, processing the information into my head before realization dawned on me suddenly.

Pushing myself to a sitting position, I turned to Lay and exclaimed in surprise, "You're twenty one years old?" Lay smiled at me and nodded his head, "Yeah, you're correct." Then he frowned slightly and asked curiously, "When your's birthday?"

"4th September 1994. I'm eighteen years old." I whispered to Lay. Wow, my boyfriend is three years older than me. Wow, just wow. Lay pushed himself off the forest ground and asked solemnly, "You won't mind the three year age difference, would you?"

I hesitated for a moment before replying, "I'm not sure. My previous boyfriends were only a year or two older than me. I haven't have a boyfriend that's three years older than me." I lowered my eyes and continued tentatively, "I'm not sure..." I glanced through my eyelashes and saw a slightly worried Lay. Breaking into a smile, I hugged him and stated, "But I'm willing to try, though."
