Chapter 5

No One’s POV

School had ended at 3pm and Jae had expected to go home after strenuous labor that Yongguk

the had put her through. However, when she reported to him after school he had told her

that Jae was to help him organize some of his paper work with him. So now she’s stuck in the

Devil’s cave until they would finish all his work.

 

Jae’s POV

“Excuse me?” I said to him and he tilted him head as he raised an eyebrow.

 

“You heard me. You are going to stay here to help me organize.” Yongguk noted smugly and I

wanted to throw a shoe at his head. I scoffed and turned around to leave. I wasn’t going to take

this much crap from him. There had to be a line drawn.

 

“If you leave those doors, expect a letter home stating that your acceptance here is revoked.”

Yongguk said behind me and I balled my fists. I whipped my body around to look at his relaxed

figure at his desk.

 

“I guess this means you’ve made your decision. Before we start, I recommend calling your parents

to tell them you will be arriving home a little late.” It was as if I was a puppet in his grasp that he

just pulled the strings too. I brought out my phone and dialed my parents. A couple rings later

and I received an answer.

 

“Jae! Come on home as quick as you can! Umma’s making your favorite Bulgogi!” I head my

brother on the other end. I sighed and rubbed my temples with my free hand.

 

“I can’t Joongie. I have club work to attend to so I’ll be coming home a little late.” I said as I

glared at Yongguk’s form.

 

“That’s too bad. It’s your first day too. We usually celebrate.” Joongie’s voice was forlorn and I

had the sudden urge just to run out of the office to my home.

 

You can’t Jae… he has you by the neck…

 

“I know. Tell Umma and Appa that I’m very sorry. This isn’t something that I can just skip out on

even if I wanted to.” I noted the smirk plastered on Yongguk’s face and I winced.

 

“Okay, I understand. I know you would be running home by now if it wasn’t something extremely

important.” I nodded my head, thanking my family for being so understanding. Yongguk was

waving his hand for me to hurry up and end the conversation and I shot lasers with my eyes at

him.

 

“Okay I have to go now. Pray for me and OHMYGAWD! SAVE ME SOME FOOD! Love you bro!” I

ended the phone call and prepared myself for the final chore I had to pull through.

 

“Finally, I thought you would never shut up.” Yongguk said as I approached the meeting desk in

the middle of the room.

 

 

“It’s called having a loving family.” I said nonchalantly and sat down. He walked in front of his

desk and grabbed one of the boxes. He then walked over to the table I was sitting at and plopped

the box down in front of me.

 

“Whatever. Here’s your work. We need to sort them by name, color and then class.” He said

without looking at me. I just gaped at the pile of work he was giving me.

 

“Well, looking at the papers won’t make them move on their own. We have to get all this done by

tomorrow.” I eyed him.

 

“By the looks of it, someone’s a procrastinator.” I challenged and he sat in the chair in front of

me. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

 

“And what is that to you?” He noted and grabbed a file to organize.

 

“Oh nothing, it’s just now another thing I can add to my list.” I grabbed my own pile of files and

studied them while waiting for a comeback from him.

 

“What exactly is this list you’re talking about?” He asked quizzically while half of his attention

was on the paper work.

 

“The name of the list is: ALL THE THINGS I DESPISE ABOUT BANG YONGGUK.” I said casually placing

the files in alphabetical order. I heard a slam of papers and glanced up before continuing with my

work.

 

“What? There is absolutely nothing that’s despicable about me!” He said and I threw my head

back and laughed. I was like a bomb that exploded into a fit of laughter. I looked at him through

the tears in my eyes and cracked up some more. I was like that for at least a full three minutes.

Once my fit was over, I wiped away the tears and tried to talk.

 

“That was a funny joke.” I said sighing and continuing with my work. Ignoring the dumbfounded

look he was aiming at me.

 

“W-What? Wait… exactly what are the things on your so called list?” He asked and I placed the last

files from the box he gave me in order on the table. I looked up at him and grinned.

 

“You really want to know? I thought I’ve already pointed out the traits before. Oh well, guess

your thick head can’t comprehend the pure truth of your personality.” I noted and stood to get

another box for me to sort through.

 

“Hurry and tell me! I order you!” Yongguk slammed his hand on the table and glared at me. I was

unaffected by his attempts to intimidate me. I rolled my eyes and shrugged.

 

“Order me huh?... Let me think…” There was a moment of silence while I tapped a finger on my

chin and I eyed him. I smirked and like a child, I stuck out my tongue at him.

 

“Nahh… I think you’ll just have to get used to disappointment. I’m not telling you anything.” I

said and mimed the “Zipping my mouth shut, locking it and throwing out the key” and his face

was priceless. It was a melting pot of unbelief, anger and irritation. I suppressed a giggle. I

continued with my work and noticed that he was just standing there glaring at me. I put down

my work and raised an eyebrow.

 

“Look I know I’m beautiful but seriously, we have to get our work done. So stop staring at my

gorgeous features and get to work.” I said with a completely serious expression and chuckled at

his reaction. He fumbled with his pile of work and shook his head. He was completely flustered by

what I had just said.

 

“I-! Never!! You’re impossible!” He got back to work and I saw that there was a slight tint of pink

on is cheeks and ears. I laughed and he ignored me. I got back to work and for a long time there

was silence between us. Without me realizing it, my eyes drifted on his face. I studied his

features and remembered my first impression of him when he had walked into the café. I had

thought that he was absolutely and impossibly hot but that was before I knew he was an A Class

Jerk. However now that I have a good look at him without is jerk personality getting in the way, I

had to admit that really was a looker.

 

I looked at his purple and black hair that screamed out rebel.

 

Rebels… I like rebels ^_^

 

 Then my eyes drifted to his lips which were firm in concentration. Higher, my gaze landed on his

nicely shaped cheekbones and then to his eyes; his eyes which had the uncanny ability to

express his emotions perfectly. I sighed and wished that he didn’t have such a horrible

personality then maybe, I would actually like this guy as a friend… or something more…

 

What are you thinking! He will forever and eternally the that stepped on you countless

of times!!

 

My inner thoughts woke me from my haze and suddenly I realized that Yongguk was not staring at

his work anymore but at me with his signature smirk plastered on his handsome features.

 

“Now look who’s staring.” He commented and his smirk just grew wider on his face. I felt the

blood rush to my cheeks and I had the urge to smack him.

 

“No! It’s not that! I was just-“ I tried to defend myself but to be perfectly honest, I was at a lost

for words.

 

Stupid! Stupid! Babo! How could you allow yourself to get caught!

 

“Mesmerized by my God given looks?” He continued my sentence and I shot up out of my seat.

 

“You! Gah! I can’t even!” I said exasperatedly. He chuckled and I just realized. I had allowed him

to use my own trick right back at me. My face felt hot and I was losing my cool. I sat back down

and started to furiously organize the box of papers I was on. There was again silence between us

and I wanted to embarrass him too.

 

But, because I have the worst luck in the world, my stomach growled. We both stopped moving

and I knew that he had heard it. He started to chuckled then it increased and soon he was

cracking up. He was covering his mouth which hid his gummy smile. I hung my head in shame.

 

Why stomach? Why?

 

As soon as he calmed down and looked at me, I saw a different look in his eyes. It was something

I never saw before. It was almost…. Almost… Human? But it vanished as soon as it had appeared.

 

“Come on. Hurry up with this organizing. It seems like your stomach can’t handle it any longer.”

He said which was out of his character. He was right. I wrinkled my nose and started to work

again.

 

Once we were done organizing all five of the boxes of work by name, color and class it was

already six-thirty. I stood from my chair and stretched my sore back. I sighed and grabbed my bag.

 

“We’re finally done.” I breathed and looked at him. He nodded and stood from his chair too. He

went behind his desk and grabbed his bag too.

 

“No thanks to you though. I did most of the work.” He noted all the while walking towards me

and my mouth fell open.

 

“Huh? What are you talking about? I did most of the work while you took a nap you .” I

remarked and he shrugged. Unbelievable, he was going to take credit for all the work. I sighed

and shook my head.

 

“Whatever. Can I go home now?” I asked him lazily and he looked at me with a glint in his eyes.

 

“Yeah, you can head out now.” I mentally jumped for joy and left the office as soon as possible. I

slightly skipped down the hallway when I noticed footsteps behind me. I looked back and there

was Yongguk walking behind me.

 

Eh… whatever…So as long as I get to go home.

 

I continued to walk and I brought out my phone. I was going to tell my brother to heat up my

share of Bulgogi when Yongguk sped up his pace to catch up with me. He was walking next to me

and I looked up from my phone.

 

“Yes? Can I help you with something?” I asked him not really meaning the words I spoke.

 

“Is this a complete surrender to becoming BAP’s dog?” He answered and my eyebrows pulled

together.

 

“Sorry, but no. Uhhh…. Why are you following me?” I asked him and he raised an eyebrow at me.

We had been walking side by side down the hallways ever since we left the office.

 

“Don’t be delusional. There is only one way from the office to the front of the school if you

haven’t noticed already.” He stated and I felt embarrassed. From that point on I decided to just

pay all my attention to my phone as we walked.

 

”You know. I think it is a great help for you to become BAP’s dog.” He said and I completely

ignored him. His voice was like a constant buzz in my head as I concentrated on my phone. He

continued nevertheless.

 

”It seems as though you are sufficient enough in handling organizing.”

 

“You’re also quite a neat freak so that would help.”

 

“I’m not saying that I’m not capable of being neat too, it’s just if you were to clean up and run

errands it would help a lot.” 

 

“Besides, a great leader like me needs to have minions to order around, doesn’t he?”

 

We were close to the front exist of the school and Yongguk hadn’t realized that I wasn’t paying

any attention to him. On the contrary, I took out my earphones and placed them in my ears

listening to Super Junior’s y, Free and Single.  I glanced at Yongguk out of the corner of my

eye and saw that his lips were still moving.

 

What an idiot.

 

I started to dance a little to the music. Yongguk suddenly stopped and my earphones were ripped

out of my ears.

 

“Yah! Those are expensive!” I yelled at him and snatched them back.

 

“That doesn’t matter! I’ve been talking to you this whole time and you weren’t listening?!?!” I

rolled my eyes and looked at him.

 

“News flash buddy, the world doesn’t revolve around you.” I placed my earphones back in my ears

and started to walk down the hallway once again. However, I felt Yongguk grab my hand whip me

around. Quick as lightening, he grabbed my phone and ripped my earphones out of my ears and

took off. He was running down the hallway and I shook myself out of my shock.

 

“BANG YONGGUK!!” I screamed down the hallway and chased after him.

 

“CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!” I head his husky laughter in front go me and I willed my feet to carry my

faster. He was extremely fast but he turned a wrong corner and we ended up in a dead end.

 

“Oh crap.” I heard him breath and he turned to face me. I was breathless but I had cornered him.

I came to a stop in front of him at arm’s length. I put my hands on my knees and gasped for air.

 

“Give... me back… my stuff.” I huffed and I went on high alert. I spread my hand out like I was

playing defense in basketball.

 

“I don’t think so.” He said quickly and faked right and got past me on left. I huffed and pouted. I

turned and bolted after him. I had to get my phone back. He ran and soon he was at the front

exit of the school.

 

No, he can’t leave with my phone!

 

I went into panic mode and rushed after him. He was out the door and so was I. He glanced back

and finally he was on the stairs. With the last ounce of strength in me, I sprinted towards him.

Closer and closer, I approached him. However luck in my life was never on my side.

 

I tripped… I tripped on freaking air.

 

I started to fall.

 

I started to fall down the stairs.

 

I closed my eyes anticipating the excruciating pain that was going to hit. One second, two

seconds, an eternity… I waited but I never happened.

 

Confused, I opened my eyes slowly and I saw Yongguk’s face a hair length’s away from mine. Then

I realized the warmth of his chest and the strong arms wrapped around me. His grip on me was

gentle and the way that he held me at that moment reflected nothing of his personality that I

had come to know. I looked at his eyes and I saw my reflection in them. I blushed and looked

away.

 

“Uhh… Thanks…” I said awkwardly and he nodded.

 

“Yeah… sure… no problem.” He said in a mirrored tone to my own. He was still holding me in his

arms and I wriggled.

 

“Umm… You should let go of me.” I told him and his eyebrow shot up.

 

“Why? You’re getting shy?” He asked and I wriggled some more. I avoided his eyes and his grip on

me tightened.

 

“Yongguk, please let me go.” I said and he chuckled. I felt his chest rumble to his low baritone

voice. Somehow it was endearing to feel that but I shook myself from that thought.

 

“Are you sure? It seems like you’re enjoying this.” He said as I gasped. I felt my heart race and I

prayed that he couldn’t feel it.

 

“Wh-what are you talking about? Just get off me you ert! I hate this situation!” I squirmed

like a fish caught in a net. He bent down to my ear and I felt his hot breath tickle my reddened

skin.

 

“Then tell me why your heart is beating so fast?” He whispered in my ear. I froze and a chill shot

threw me.

 

CRAP! CRAP-ATY! CRAP!

 

A moment later I snapped back into reality and I gathered my inhuman strength. I shoved him

away from me and grabbed my phone that had fallen to the ground. I straightened and I glared at

him.

 

“You are SO DESPICABLE!” I whipped around and ran down the stairs towards the security of my

home.

 

“CAREFUL! DOWN TRIP AGAIN!” He shouted after my shrinking form and I was mentally beating

myself up.

 

“ERT!!!” I screamed behind me just so I could have the last word.

 

Pathetic Jae, utterly pathetic.

 

All the way home I was cursing myself out and hating every moment I had spent with him that

day. Images of his face so close to mine flashed again and again in my head and I shook myself

hard. No! I was not going to think of him like that! He had taken advantage of the situation!

 

There was absolutely no way that I would EVER EVER fall for him!!!
