Chocolate Cake

Nothing But Bad Luck

Chapter Two:

No One’s POV

Syrina Academy was one of the most recognized schools in the country of South Korea.

Students were admitted through the ages of high school students and to those who were going

to college. If you were one of the lucky admissions that start at high school then you wouldn’t

need to worry about getting a college education. Syrina Academy covered all courses for all the

students’ needs until their required college years are completed. However if the student

wanted more school education after their required college years then they can stay until they

would turn 25.

Syrina Academy was owned by one of the richest men in Seoul and this family owned some of

the biggest companies in Korea too. So it was reasonable that the richest man’s son would

attend the school that he funded. His son’s name was Bang Yongguk and as a result he was one

of the most influential students in the school. Yongguk and his groupie, BAP, were some of the

most feared but adored guys of the school. Each of them had the legacy of their father’s to up

hold no matter the burden that it caused them.

The beginning of this tale starts on a fine day in August. A month before school starts all around

the city of Seoul. BAP was riding in their exclusive limo off to some party for aristocrats and

politicians. Hence they would be dressed all fancy. However their limo malfunctioned on a

street corner in the plainest of neighborhoods. And as fate would have it, Zelo’s hunger caught

him in the worst situations forcing the others to go off to the nearest café. In the meantime,

they would wait for their next ride to the party.

Little do they know that their interaction at the cafe would change the life of a simple teen girl

living her simple and boring life.

Jae’s POV

I worked part time at a cafe that was about two blocks from my house. My shift was already

over but my friend had been asked out on a date and so I was persuaded to cover for her

evening shift. I didn't know that by coving for my friend’s shift would change my future

situation.

As I was cleaning the used tables in the café, the bell rang on the door signaling the entry of

customers. I looked up with a smile which turned into a curious gleam of amazement. No way

had 6 handsome guys walked into this bland and boring cafe. It was a once in a life time

situation.

All of them were dressed as if they were headed out to a party and soon they were sitting at

one of the large tables by the window as they observed the place. Their facial expressions

ranged from disgust, amazement to even excitement.

All of them had a different style that matched their looks perfectly. However the guy that

caught my attention was the one with his startling purple hair. He had a fierce aura about him

that both intimidated me and interested me.

"Whoa... Where'd they come from? Heaven?" My co-worker gasped. That shook me out of my

daze.  I looked to my left and saw that everyone's gazes were on the six guys, transfixed with

their hotness. I shook my head.

Get your act together Jae. There's no time to think of boys now. Not when you’re this close

to getting into Syrina Academy. I told myself.  I walked over towards my co-workers and

stepped in front of them.

"Hey, so who's gonna get their order?" I asked them.  All their gazes turned down as their

cheeks turned red. Now way...

"Umm... I... I mean... We can't. Jae... Could you do it for us? There is no way we could go up to

them." The shyest one spoke up and the rest of them nodded.

Why did I have a feeling they were going to do this to me... Again. This wasn't the first time I

was pushed into facing customers because my co-workers wouldn't serve.

I sighed, "Fine. But this is going to be the last time I'm doing this for you guys. " They all nodded

and I my heel towards the six good looking guys. Slowly I walked up to their table

with a one main thought going through her head.

Get this done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Finally I reached the table and took out

my note pad.

"Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Jae. I'll be your waiter this afternoon. What would you like?" One of them

turned his head to me and smiled widely.

"Annyeong! I would like one of everything on the menu please." The smallest one with pink hair

said. I blinked several times before I could register what he said.

"Eh..eh.. Huh? One of everything?" I gasped.

"Ye--Ow! Hyung!" The pink haired guy said as he turned to the dirty blonde haired male sitting

across from him.

"You pig. You can't even eat all of that. Order as much as you can eat idiot." The blonde who hit

the pink haired boy said.

"But hyung! Everything on the menu seems soooo good. I can't choose." The pink haired boy

said. I smothered a smile from appearing on my face. It reminded me of how my father and

brother acted at home. The blonde turned to me and smiled.

"Annyeong Jae, I'm Daehyun and I'll have one hamburger. This idiot's name is Zelo who will be

having one omurice." I wrote down their order and looked at the rest of them.

"Hyung can we share that hamburger? Please?" The boy on the left of Zelo begged Daehyun.

"Ani. Youngjae, get your own food."

"Fine, I'll be getting one hamburger too please." The one named Youngjae said.  Again, I wrote

their orders and looked up to the other customers for their order. They didn't move an inch

since they say down. They didn't even look at me while I was talking to them.

"And what would you gentlemen like to order?" I said in the nicest voice she could muster. Still

they didn't even move. I got irritated little by little.

Maybe they didn’t hear me…She thought to herself.

"Uh... Excuse me?" I said and leaned to the side to try to see their faces.

One was asleep but seriously… how someone could fall asleep sitting straight up is beyond me.

But I forgave him for not replying. However the other two, I don't think I could forgive because

the one with purple hair was texting while the other with jet black hair was worrying about his

nails.

Wait? What? His nails? I thought to myself.

“Uh…Hello?” I said timidly. I just wanted their order and to get this done as soon as possible. I

looked at the others for advice or at least a little help but the three shrugged their shoulders. I

tried again.

"Excuse me sir. What would you like to order?" I asked nicely again and suddenly SLAM!

"WHAT THE HELL!" The purple haired guy said without looking at me. He looked up and his

glare sent shocks of cold down my back. He shot up, knocking his chair to the ground. Slowly,

the guy walked up to me and soon he was towered above my small frame.  Shocked at the

situation, I was glued in place. This guy, no matter how hot he was, was a complete jerk.

"Can't you see that I'm busy?!" he asked. His voice was low and raspy making it all the more

intimidating. Started I looked at him with shock.

Why is getting mad at me? I even asked nicely. It's his fault for not paying attention. I

thought angrily.

The customer is always right. I took a step back and I swallowed my pride. It’s a good thing I

took anger management classes. I bowed ninety degrees.

"Chesohaminda. It was wrong of me to pester you. As an apology, what would you and your

friend to like to order from menu for free?" I said while closing my eyes. This was so

embarrassing. Never, in all the years of me as a waitress, has this happened to me. My cheeks

were burning and my ears were so hot.

This made a fool out of you Jae... My inner voice said to me. I mentally shrugged it off.

No way was I going to let myself fall for those things again. He wasn’t even worth my anger.

He huffed and sat back down at the table. He leaned back and sat legs and arms crossed with an

annoying smug look on his face.

"That's better. Now get us your most expensive dish on the menu." With that, he waved his

hand expecting me to just disappear and obey his every command.

Obey his every command?? Yeah right! I ain't gonna do anything for this jerk! He can kiss my

tight little perky ! My inner said, urging me to lose control. I took a deep breath and

exhaled.

"Your orders will be on their way sir." I said politely without looking at the rude . I

my heel and headed for the kitchen. I handed the order to the chef and brought out six glasses

of water. Handling the tray expertly, I headed towards the Devil's table.

I placed a glass in front of each of them and received small smiles of apology from the nicer half

of guys. I lastly placed a glass in front of the Devil and he slammed his hand on the table causing

me to jump. I looked at him and he shook his head. My eyebrows pulled together in confusion

and I wondered what was wrong.

"I don't drink this type of water." he said, emphasizing the word type.

What? What type of water? There's a TYPE of water?

"Oh, I'm sorry. What type of water do you drink?" I asked sincerely emphasizing the word type

right back at him. I was still pretty pissed but I was also pretty good at hiding my emotions.

The type of water from the underworld? My inner answered.

"I only drink bottled water with five ice cubes and a straw." He said promptly. And I felt my eye

twitch. I nodded and went to go get Him the special order of water. I had a feeling that he was

just messing with me but I just took all of the crap he threw at me.

Once I returned, I placed it in front of him and he complained that he didn't receive a coaster

to put his beverage on. I got him a coaster.

When I placed his food in front of his which turned out to be spicy Dok Bok Gi, he complained

that he didn't like all the green onion strips floating in it. I picked out all of the green strips.

Finally, when they were done eating, Zelo ordered a big slice of cake that they could all share. I

brought them the cake and placed it on the table. I was about to turn around and leave but the

Devil’s voice stopped me from moving.

"Hold it." he said and I sighed and turned.

"Yes?" I was amazed at how I could still control my voice at this point.

"You forgot to serve each of us a slice." he said nonchalantly. I gritted my teeth and forced a

smile.

"How stupid of me. Let me serve you gentlemen then." I said and started serving them their

cake. Like with the water, I served the Devil last.

I sliced a piece and placed it in front of the place for Him. Once I was done I straightened and

looked at the rest of them. I smiled at the nice ones and again without looking at Him I said,

"Enjoy." Through gritted teeth, I started to retreat to the other end of the café.

"Wait." There was a noticeable splat on the floor and my heart sunk. I close my eyes and

turned. I opened them again and saw his slice of cake was on the floor.

"Opps. It seems like I dropped my cake. Good thing too. I don't like that flavor. Go fetch me

another will you. Preferably chocolate. Oh and clean up this mess." Mr. was getting on my

last nerves.

"Yes sir. Right on it." I muttered.

When I returned to their table I had a Bounty Roll in one hand and his cake in another. I placed

his slice in front of him a little more aggressively than necessary and bent down to clean up his

mess. I was peacefully cleaning it up but that's hard to do with Him annoying me while I do so.

His constant "right there" and "you missed a spot" was pushing the wrong buttons. But I kept my

mouth shut and just continued to clean the mess he had created. Thankfully though, one of his

nicer friends distracted him from harassing me any further.

"So school's starting again next month. Are you guys ready to rule the school again?” the voice

spoke in a joking manner.

“It’s not like anyone else is going to do it.” The Devil voiced out. I rolled my eyes.

I bet no one wants to work with you, you demanding and disrespectful donkey. My inner said

and I silently agreed.

“Hahaha, that true I guess…” The voice said unsurely fading. I looked up from what I was doing

to see what spoke and saw that it was Daehyun. I caught his eye and smiled a little.

“Of course it’s true. I mean we are the richest of all the students and the staff there. I mean

come on; my father owns the damn school. It entitles me to ruling the jailhouse while dad’s

taking care of the company.” The Devil voiced out his cocky opinions and I slowed my cleaning

to listen to his unbelievable speech.

“But then again, it does get boring being the best of the best doesn’t it guys? I mean everyone

groveling at our feet just to get in good with the rich. And all of the girls that try to get in my

pants are all annoying and ugly. To put it plainly, it’s disgusting. If you ask me, I would have all

of them kicked out of the school. Besides, who need them anyway.” I gritted my teeth

together and wondered how someone could be so arrogant and self-righteous. He had a horrible

character and I wondered how he even had friends. I finished cleaning and without a word or

glance at the table, I turned and left them to their conversation.

I waited for them to finish their cake, noticing that He never even touched His slice of

chocolate. He got up and Daehyun followed him to the bathroom. I was in the janitor’s closet

right which was situated right next to the Men’s Bathroom between thin walls. As they exit the

bathroom, I overheard their conversation against my will.

“Hyung, why are you rude to our server. She’s been so nice this entire time and I don’t think

it’s fair to her.” I silently nodded my head.

Thank you Daehyun!

The Devil of a customer laughed and I heard him patting Daehyun’s back.

“That’s funny Daehyun. You shouldn’t joke like that. Look at her. She’s boring, plain and easily

manipulated. She has no guts whatsoever and if she had she would have spoken up. She’s

ignorant and someone that you can mess with. Me, just ordering her around is more of a game

than anything else. To put it simply, she’s a toy.” His words faded as he walked away from the

closet and towards his table. However the sting from those words slowly broke down all the

locks and barriers I put up against my other half. For the first time in four years, something

inside me snapped. I tried to control the rage that erupted inside of me but I knew it was too

late. This arrogant jerk needed to learn a lesson.

I left the closet seeing only red and I walked pass my boss and my co-workers. My old self was

emerging slowly and I just let it flow freely. I walked up to the table and looked at the nameless

Devil. He looked at me and smirked. I smiled right back at him and in the sweetest of voices I

said, “Are you finished sir?”

“Uh, yeah. Clean this up. I hate the mess.” He said and looked away. I piled up everyone else’s

plates together and all that was left on the table was His slice of damned chocolate cake. I

lifted it up and he looked at me. I smirked and in a flash it was all over his hair, face and

clothes. I had just rubbed the cake from the top of his head to just right below his chin.

“WHAT THE HELL?” He shouted and he shot up while wiping the cake off his eyes. I glared at

him once he looked at me.

“You are the rudest, arrogant, self-centered person I have ever met in my life. You believe

others who are less fortunate a lower class than yourself. You have degraded me without even

getting to know me. It amazes me that you even have friends by your side. I would much

appreciate it if you would leave and never comeback.” I said in one breath all the while getting

closer to him until we were eye to eye.

“DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO I AM?  I’M B-“

“FRANKLY, I don’t care who you are. In fact, me talking to you like this is a waste of my time.

So if you please. The door is that way.” I interrupted him and his face went red in either anger

or embarrassment. I looked towards the others and their faces were that of shock and

astonishment.

I guess people rarely stood up to this guy.

“IF WE EVER MEET AGAIN I SWEAR; I WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL” and with that he left the

café and his companions left after leaving a few twenties on the table. I had received a 40 dollar

tip that day.

Later that day…

In the end, I had lost my job but had gained respect from others. I was walking home

depressed. What wonderful luck I have to have met that douchebag. I had lost my job because

of him.

“IF WE EVER MEET AGAIN I SWEAR; I WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL” I shivered and shrugged.

Pfftt… like we would meet again.
