“Once upon a time…” would never apply to the story I am about to tell you. This is not a fairytale nor would I want it to be. The thought of a damsel in distress trying to find her prince and charming to save her from the hellish world she was living in never even crossed my mind. For me, reality is the way I live my life…

The truth is I am an ordinary girl, living an ordinary life. Simple right? But this ordinary life of mine never went as smoothly as I wanted it to be…

It started way before I was even BORN!

You see, my birth mother did not want me (from what I was told). She was pregnant with me when she was 18 and as you might have already guessed, I was put up for adoption! Newspapers with my birth mother and her seven-month baby bump, with the headline: “Baby in need of a home…PLEASE ADOPT HER!” See how lucky I am.

Luckily there was this happy couple that adopted me and made me their precious daughter, if not I might have ended up at the orphanage. But they had no idea how much damage I was able to bring to their family, and here is a list of all of them:

1. The day they brought me home, I made a big mess in the car…I wont be telling you any of this in detail so please use your imagination! ☺

2. I was always a naughty child, never listened to my parents. They didn’t know what to do with me.

3. When I got older, I wanted to try every single thing I can think of. Which include dance, singing, acting, art, you name it! This cost a lot of money…which made it even harder for my parents. The worst part was that I would drop classes once I realized that I didn’t like it. I was definitely a hand full.

4. The biggest sin I committed was because I was such a hand full my parents ended up getting a divorce and I was left with my mom. Dad couldn’t handle me anymore so he went off with another women and now they have three kids.

5. Since I was still young, I kind of tied my mom down, so she couldn’t find someone else to remarry…

Sinful right? My mom ended up moving back to Seoul, where she came from, because she couldn’t live in America anymore. So, I went from the place I was born to an unfamiliar place with an unfamiliar language. From then on, I realized that I was a child who brought bad luck to the people around me. Even till now, I try to avoid having friends, which is why, I am proud to say that I am a loner!

Being the loner that I am. People consider me crazy because I don’t talk to people at all. Most of the time, I work alone on projects and homework. I never dated before mainly because I think the poor boy would regret it so much afterwards…besides who needs love anyway. I will just live my life as a nun when I grow older.

That’s right! WHO NEEDS LOVE? I, YULI JUNG AM A TWENTY YEAR OLD WHO DOESN’T NEED LOVE!
