“We’re going to meet them by the ferris wheel,” her best friend mentioned as the two girls walked through the entrance of the theme park. “I’m sure his friend will be as equally hot as he is.”

“I cannot believe I allowed you to drag me along tonight Lynnie.”

The dark haired girl rolled her equally dark eyes. “Like you’d allow me to go to a theme park by myself at night Maddie.”

“And that’s the only reason I’m here,” the younger girl muttered, although her eyes lit up at the nightlife atmosphere. She hadn’t been on a ride in years, and especially nothing like at Lotte World, the main amusement park in Seoul. She completely forgot that she was assisting her best friend Lynnie in her date with some Korean guy she had come home earlier that day talking enthusiastically about. Instead her eyes soaked in the brightly lit stalls that lined the way to the ferris wheel, the lights dancing over the splashing water from the pool at the entrance. They continued their way to the left, soon arriving at their destination.

“There they are!” Lynnie squealed and took off towards the pair of boys standing not far off from a park bench. Maddie slowly followed Lynnie, watching as she approached a tall, masculine man. She could tell instantly why her friend, who liked her men to look like protectors, had gone for this person. Maddie’s eyes then darted to the shorter boy beside him. Their differences were incredibly obvious. Despite his well defined friend, the boy looked like he’d rather be inside than standing in an amusement park. Although he was dressed nicely in jeans, a yellow tee and a hat, he gave the impression that he’d rather play computer games than lift weights.

“And this is my friend Maddie,” Lynnie greeted, using her fluent Korean. Maddie was sufficient with the foreign language, although she was envious of her best friend’s experience with it. “Maddie, this is Kyuhyun.”

“Hi,” she greeted, shaking his hand lightly. He seemed embarrassed by the gesture, turning his dark eyes to a nearby stall, and letting go of her hand quickly.

Maddie sighed. Lynnie would so owe her for this later.

An hour later and Maddie was incredibly frustrated. Whilst her best friend seemed to be having the time of her life with Siwon her date, Maddie was stuck with the silent Kyuhyun. He wasn’t inconsiderate, just incredibly boring to be around. The only time his face had gained any enthusiasm in it was when they passed the arcade and he looked back longingly. He didn’t seem to want to go on the rides either and so she had given up attempting to drag him onto them. Overall, Maddie didn’t know what to do, and so she had fallen silent herself, hoping Lynnie would grow bored and want to go home soon.

“That was so much fun!” the brunette claimed as she and Siwon rejoined them and Maddie inwardly groaned, seeing the excitement in Lynnie’s eyes. She pasted on a smile and followed the other three to the next ride, slumping down onto the bench beside the admissions. Kyuhyun joined her and let out a deep breath.

“I’m sorry, you’re not having much fun because of me,” he mentioned and she glanced at him.

“Why did you bother coming if you don’t want to even enjoy it?” she questioned and he blushed for the umpteenth time. It annoyed her that she seemed to like the colouring staining his cheeks.

“I thought I wouldn’t be this nervous,” he admitted and Maddie cocked her head to the side. “I’m not exactly experienced with dating.”

“So you mean to tell me this whole night I’ve been miserable because you’re over thinking the situation?” He nodded. “Well, can we attempt to change it then?”

“Ah,” he started, his boyish face creasing up. Maddie rolled her eyes and eyed an attraction nearby. She hadn’t ever thought to go to such measures before, but now knowing that Kyuhyun was merely nervous, she knew it would either succeed or completely fail. Without another thought, she yanked on his hand, dragging him over to it.

“Try and win the one hundred thousand won prize!” the clerk announced and Maddie grinned.

“Ohhh no, I’m not jumping into a pool of chocolate milk!” Kyuhyun stated firmly and Maddie gave him a look.

“Well I hope you can swim,” she said, shoving him into the pool. He resurfaced a moment later spluttering, and she giggled, it was the first time that night she had produced a genuine emotion. “YOU!” he called and she grinned.

“What’s wrong?” she asked innocently but let out a shriek as his hand clasped her ankle and pulled her into the pool. She in a deep breath when she bobbed up from under the milky sea. Kyuhyun started to chuckle.

“You look stupid,” he mentioned and Maddie rolled her eyes.

“And how do you think you look?”

“Are you two going to attempt to get the money?” the clerk asked and she glanced at the boy, who surprised her, nodding his head. “Alright, you can only choose one of the three bags tied to the bottom. Choose wisely.”

“Ready?” she asked and the boy nodded. “Alright lets check them all first.”

She doved down under the milky surface, struggling slightly as her jeans became heavy. Maddie found a bag and felt the thickness, quickly swimming back up for a breath. Between herself and Kyuhyun, they decided on a bag together, Kyuhyun swimming back down to retrieve it.

“And lets see what you’ve won!” the clerk said into the microphone he was holding, taking the bag as Kyuhyun hauled himself out of pool, covering the ground in a puddle of chocolate milk. He then leaned in to grab Maddie, who cheekily pulled him back in.

“What did you do that for?!” he gasped and she grinned, glancing over at the clerk who shook his head.

“Congratulations!” he cried and her eyes widened. “You won the one hundred thousand won!”

“YOU’RE JOKING?!” she exclaimed, letting out a squeal and hugged Kyuhyun in the excitement. She then pulled away, feeling embarrassed for her actions. They finally climbed out of the pool and after being handed a couple of towels, took their prize money and went off to where there friends stood, thankfully with their belongings still.

“What the hell did you go and jump in a chocolate milk pool for?” her friend asked her incredulously and Maddie grinned at Kyuhyun. He seemed more vibrant now, although she believed that was due to the money in his hand.

“Maddie was showing me the way to have fun,” Kyuhyun answered and she smiled at him brightly. “That and we won one hundred thousand won!”

“No way?!” Siwon breathed, taking the money from his friend’s hand. “I can’t believe it.”

“We should go buy you two some clothes and take you over to a changing bay,” Lynnie suggested and Maddie giggled.

“Good idea.”

They followed along behind their friends, waiting outside a shop as the ones not covered in milk sought some new clothes for them to wear. Kyuhyun smiled. “That was spontaneous.”

“Got you out of the nervous zone though, right?” she questioned and he nodded. “See, dating is not that hard.”

“Plus I’m sure guys covered in chocolate is every girls dream, right?” he teased and Maddie took a double look at him. He chuckled. “What, thought I was completely innocent?”

“Well chocolate is love,” she agreed casually and then moved closer, looking up into his brown eyes. They showed no signs of hesitation and she tasted his lips for the first time, the strong chocolatey flavour still lingering. They separated a moment later and Kyuhyun grinned.

“I could get used to this, the chocolate taste included.”

Maddie laughed. “Well then, I’ll remember to bring some with me the next I meet up with you.”

“You mean, you’ll give me another chance?” he asked and she reached up to kiss him again.

“Like you said, how can I resist a guy covered in chocolate?”
