As Taeyeon had promised, he eluded the rough thugs on the streets and steered clear of the detectives who had wanted him back on the job. He did all for the sake of the young woman who laid unconscious inside the hospital – the one whom he had brought to the same hospital a few days before.

It was sad to say that he hadn’t seen Nana after she had revealed to him the truth. He had wanted to talk to her about the sudden turn of events but he couldn’t find her. Since his surreal meeting with Jessica’s soul, Taeyeon found himself visiting Jessica’s real body in the hospital before and after work.

He found himself sitting on a chair holding the hand of the unresponsive patient as he mulled over the events of the previous days.

“Hi there, Sica…” Taeyeon chuckled to himself at the nickname he gave the girl he came to know through a spirit medium. “Can I call you that?”

“Sure…” an angel’s voice startled him a bit. Taeyeon turned to see Jessica’s soul hovering beside him. She felt cold but he didn’t mind. He could still feel her warm aura despite the state she’s currently in.

“So, where have you been?” Taeyeon directed the question to the apparition beside him.

A soft yet sad smile played on Jessica’s lips. “I came from Nana’s place. She had been guilt-ridden about breaking the pact she made with me and I had to come and console her about it. It’s not that I would actually mind if she did break the promise…” Jessica’s eyes shifted to stare at something else other than Taeyeon making the latter wonder what the ghost was trying to imply.

“What promise did she make?” Taeyeon could not contain his curiosity over the matter as he quizzically stared at the unworldly figure who was now sitting on the bed.
