It's not uncommon for a secondary pairing in a story to become more well received than the main couple itself. And it's not uncommon for readers to ship a less shipped couple; so an author whose on the verge of being kicked to the curb has decided to write a new story/manga featuring the most popular secondary couples of some of the most famous mangas. And to achieve this, he/she decided that using some of his/her friends would add to the realism of the stories. With some bribing, some persuading, and some threatening, she pushes her friends into a love relationship to test out all possibilities; just like as if they were in a school play.
