"You'll regret it. " Janice crashed onto the ground of the practice room, panting. After 4 hours of dance practice, she still has yet to master this dance. That sentence always appeared in her mind whenever she did something wrong, be it failing to master a dance, failing to grasp the harmony of the song, or when she failed a korean test. Those were her fathers' last words to her before she shut the door in her family's face. Janice left her home after her family went bonkers when she announced to them that she was coming to Korea to chase her dreams. To be an idol. Her family was against it, but stubborn Janice threatened to cut off ties with them if they opposed. And she almost did. Well, she was no longer in contact with any of them now..

Janice wiped off her sweat as she stared at herself in the mirror. Tomorrow, would mark one year since she entered SM entertainment as a trainee. One year on, she was still lacking in everything an idol needs. She couldn't freestyle properly, she's always taking a long time to learn a dance, and she could barely hold a decent conversation in korean with her fellow trainees. Janice definitely didn't have the looks, she had to go to the dermatologist monthly to undergo treatment for her bad skin. Body.. don't even mention her body. Even though she was tall, she was still plump for her height. The fact that she was picky about her food was probably the only reason why she actually managed to lose weight. CEO-nim always joked "Give her another year, when she starts to like Korean food, she will start to balloon so quickly that we need to lock her in a gym with a trainer." He was right.. Once Janice starts to like Korean food, she will definitely gain alot of weight.. Especially with her unhealthy obsession with candies. However there's only one thing worth praising about Janice: her voice. She certainly did not have the best voice in the company, or have a large range like some of her seniors, but many trainers have told her that her voice is perhaps the only reason why she wasn't kicked out of the company. Janice sighed at her reflection.

"Janiceu.." Janice continued to stare at the mirror. "JANICEU!" The trainer bellowed, giving Janice a shock as she muttered an apology and scrambled to put away her bottle. Those korean pronounciations, she was definitely not a fan of it. Just as she was about to return to her original position, the trainer motioned her over. Crap, he's about to lecture me again, Janice sighed as she shuffled over to her trainer, her head hanging limply on her neck. "Yes Jeongwoo-oppa?" Jeongwoo patted her head and shook his head as Janice looked extremely exhausted. "Are you sure you want to stay in this class?" Janice looked up at Jeongwoo apologetically. Gosh, he really thinks I at this.. "You know, you're a girl after all.. You would do so much better training with girls and dancing to girl group songs.." Jeongwoo continued until she stopped him. "Oppa, you know my personality. There's no way I will be able to pull off such cutesy dances." Jeongwoo paused for a moment, and nodded in agreement before gesturing her back to her position, starting the music that they were practising

It was true. Janice never touched a single girl group song the whole time she were training. The only time they tried to force her to dance and sing to SECRET's Shy Boy, everyone present almost died. She could not act cute, let alone perform a cute song like that. From then on, no one tried to put her together with girl group songs anymore. Janice sang to boy groups' songs, danced to boy groups' songs, and was even assigned to boy groups when she were working. Newer trainees referred to her as the weird girl who always practiced with guys, but older trainees knew better than to ask her to train with the girls. Jeongwoo looked at her practise the moves for the nth time, and shook his head. Janice, continue to work hard, CEO-nim will see your efforts.. He thought as he watched her screw up and shout in frustration. 

Janice never once stopped practising. She continued her hip ing and gave every move her best shot. Finally after a few more hours, they nailed the whole dance. Janice gave a victory yell and laid on the ground together with the rest of the male trainees, panting. Jeongwoo laughed at the sight and chased the group out of the practice room as it was already 2am. After a series of hi-fives and goodbyes, Janice picked up her backpack and trudged out of SM Entertainment, walking to an apartment just beside the company. CEO-nim was kind enough to give her a job and help rent an apartment when he knew about her plight. 

Janice collapsed onto her bed after showering, and drifted off to sleep almost immediately despite her stomach growling like mad. Sleep was more important than anything else, and she had to wake up early the next day to help prepare for a showcase for a new boy group debuting..

AN: HAHA here it is? I was foolish enough to click my backspace button while navigating this page and I ended up losing all of the stuff I typed.. So this is my second try.. Hope the first chapter's alright! And yup, one of the main characters will appear in the next chapter! (Quite obvious who it is heehee)
