After I was discharged from the hospital, I came back to my normal life working as the owner of my own company. While signing some papers for my business, I suddenly remembered that call at the hospital.

I was completely baffled by the call. The caller told me to investigate my father's death, but given that my father died 5 years ago from a fire, what's there to investigate? Am I to question if the fire indeed claimed my father's life?

"𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨," I said in my head. With that thought, I went to casually ask my mother again about Father's death. Maybe, I’m just missing a piece.

My mother answered my question with, "𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀. 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆, 𝘀𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲."

“𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝘀𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲. 𝗛𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳."

I was so focused, wondering if I’d get clues. My curiosity grew even bigger.

"𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲, 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗮?" I asked.
