Description

The princely Haco Jeon gets confronted with the realization that their elite family's history is built upon lies. Along his pursuit of the truth, he meets Akal Hong, the high-ranking member of a resistance group, and together they set towards retrieving an artifact that would restore the world's balance in its faithful order.

Foreword

Haco, the Darahan noble and Governor Aelius Jeon's son and sole heir, is a graduating student attending the prestigious Vermillion University. Being born into and living an affluent life had set him up for success from the very beginning, but his reality is soon turned upside-down when he finds out the truth about the millennia-long lies his entire lineage have been harboring from the rest of society. In a world where the Aeons have gifted humanity of elemental-control abilities, the Element of Fire had been deemed recalcitrant, resulting in the prohibition of Naturals' facility to practice and Subnaturals' unauthorized access to it. Upon stumbling across a passage from an ancient textbook he had illicitly acquired, Haco is able to uncover that the reason this law had been implemented is because the Element of Fire had been missing the whole time, leading him to the conclusion that it can be controlled after all, but to whom it bows and how, he makes it a mission to find out, alongside a rebel of the Asambran descent, Akal Hong, who is a part of the People's Revolutionary Army posing as a traveling circus to remain undetected by the government of The Republic of Vermeil.

Author's note

Hello! Thank you for clicking on my story, Nevergod. I hope you enjoy reading and do let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

A fun fact about Nevergod: the names of the gods have come to me in a dream, specifically Darahawi, Minyari and Syrpuna—these two came together that's why I kept them together as twins. In my dreams, Darahawi used to be a woman but she didn't like the life she had been given so she performed a ritual that would set her free from her own existence, which turned her into an Owl Spirit that guides people who feel the same way as her. People can reach her by looking at a mirror upside-down. Minyari is a spirit that "destroys those who cannot covet", which I interpreted as people who cannot do anything to possess what they want to have; Syrpuna is the one that "destroys that which cannot be coveted", which are the things that people want but aren't able to own. My take on this is when someone wants something so bad, and they fail to achieve it, Minyari destroys that person, and Syrpuna destroys the thing that person wants. A lose-lose situation, if you will, therefore I think the two are supposed to be demons. The rest of the gods, Asambre and Liksaku, I came up with consciously, I just thought of something that would roll off the tongue. Essentially what I'm saying is they are gibberish. But I like the fact that they have given birth to a world with such an interesting history in the form of this story.

Another fun fact: this is a reimagined version of one of my earlier works from around 2015-17 (I can't really remember now), called Anti-Hero. It's my first ever multi-chaptered fic and first starred BTS' Jungkook and Namjoon as the leads. It was a friendship story, a plot element and character dynamics which will still show up in this version, so look forward to that. I unfortunately deleted it due to a terrible breakdown. I deleted all my old stories, I have no copy of any of them left because of that. I still miss them and wish I could look back at them every now and again, but I just can't really be bothered too much by it. It's fine. I'm back to writing again now, and that should be all right.

Look forward to the story and let me know your thoughts if you read it! I'd appreciate them greatly.
