Just last year, SM announced the formation of a new sub-unit that is consists of members from SM’s girl groups and Boa; Karina and Winter from Aespa, Seulgi and Wendy from Red Velvet, and Taeyeon and Hyoyeon from Red Velvet. After the success of Step Back, the girls went back to their own groups. Taeyeon released her 3rd album, INVU, which is a major success on all platforms. Months later, Hyoyeon released her first mini-album called DEEP, which happens to be the iest song out there. For months, the two girls have been together every now and then, eating dinners, breakfast, and attending meetings for the upcoming album of SNSD.

Then, Forever 1 era came.

Hyoyeon and Taeyeon have proven themselves to possess a unique dynamic. From Taeyeon understanding Hyoyeon’s mistake in misnaming people and her not intending to offend anyone to Taeyeon defending her for being short-tempered in the Game Caterers. 

GOT the Beat comeback

The SM subunit has announced their comeback. Hyoyeon and Taeyeon are thrilled to be working with the other girls. Today, Hyoyeon was making her way towards the studio when she bumped into Taeyeon.

“It seems like I’ve been seeing you everyday this year,” Taeyeon jokes. Hyoyeon let out a chuckle and said, “It’s tiring Taeyeonnie”

Taeyeon chuckled with her. Hyoyeon was the first one to finish. She decided to stay and listen to Taeyeon's recording. Since then, Hyoyeon has been stunned by how incredible Taeyeon’s voice is. It is majestic to hear it on track but nothing beats its magic by listening to it live and raw. She sat there, with Taeyeon’s voice in her background, and with a smile on her face. She vowed to herself, she can listen to this voice all day.

After Taeyeon’s recording, they swung by the practice room to see the choreography. One thing about Hyoyeon is that she can replicate any dance moves after watching it once or twice. And she did. Hyoyeon decided to stand up and dance with the choreographer. Taeyeon stood there watching their main dancer ace every given step. Taeyeon has always been in awe of Hyo’s fluidity. In this arena, no one can ever beat the original dancing machine. Seeing it up-close is an experience. The way her body moves with the beat, the way her torso control is so perfect, the way footwork are just incredibly smooth. Taeyeon’s eyes travelled from Hyoyeon’s feet to her legs to her torso to her arms and to her face, only to discover that Hyoyeon is watching her as well. Hyoyeon chuckled and said, “Like what you see, Taeng?”
