Chapter 9

It was a quiet and peaceful night, the group is in a deep sleep while Chaeyoung was sitting on the sand in front of their so-called ‘little house’, looking at the stars while thinking deeply about something. So deep that he didn’t even notice that someone is behind him.

Mina: “What are you thinking, hm?” she asked a bit worried.

Chaeyoung: “Oh, noona. Why are you still awake?” he said in surprise and looked at Mina.

Mina: “I can’t sleep. How about you? Are you ok?” she asked like a big sister.

Chaeyoung: “I’m ok. I just can’t sleep either.” He said looking back at the stars.

Mina: “C’mon, what’s your problem?” she said

Chaeyoung: “Nothing really, it’s just that I don’t know when we’ll get out of this island. I don’t know if this island is safe or not.”

Mina: “I know what you feel. But you don’t have to get stressed over this. We’re all in this together ok? Let’s wait for the other's opinions. Don’t rush things, it’ll make it more difficult.”

Chaeyoung: “Arrasso, noona. But do you think the one who trapped us here on this island was also the one who hurt Somi?”

Mina: “Maybe. It can’t be just a coincidence. The sign on the plane was very familiar. I think I saw it on someone.”

Chaeyoung: “I was thinking the same! I think I saw it from the guys who tried to harass you.”

Mina: “who- no…” she said in scared and worried. “They must be getting revenge and dragged everyone else from this mess. This is my fault.”

Chaeyoung: “It’s not.” He said and comforted his noona. “It was my fault for pissing those guys. If I just saved you and ran away maybe they won’t even remember our faces. I mean, from the looks of those s, they were pretty scared of me that I’ll kill them that they. Am I that scary?” he said trying to make her sister smile.

Mina: “Oh, you don’t know how scary you are when you’re mad.” She said in her normal tone.

Chaeyoung: “Then, should I smile?”

Mina: “Yes.” She said nodding.

Chaeyoung: “Hmm.. ok. But how do you smile again? I kinda forgot how to smile.” He said pretending that he doesn’t know. “Can you show me?”

Mina: “You silly kid.” She said giggling.

Chaeyoung: “There you go.” He said and smiled.

Mina just shake her head while smiling and yawned after that.

Chaeyoung: “Should we go to sleep? I’m guessing that you’re tired.” He said calmly.

Mina: “Sure. Let’s go to sleep.” She said and yawned.

Chaeyoung: “Alright.”

It was morning, and the group was preparing for their breakfast.

Momo: “Ohh~ the smell is so good~,” she said sniffing their breakfast which is a grilled fish and some fruits.

Mina: “Breakfast is coming right up!” she said and brought 5 sticks of grilled fish.

Momo: “And the desserts are also ready!” she said and brought the sliced fruits to their little house.”

All: “Thanks for the food!’ they said in unison and started sharing the fish and fruits.

While eating, Chaeyoung started up a conversation. (As always)

Chaeyoung: “So Somi. What happened and why did someone hurt you and throw you out of a plane?”

Jeongyeon: “Hey. Don’t you think it’s a bit rude to ask it directly?”

Somi: “N-no, it’s ok. But to be honest, I’m not so sure of what I did wrong. But from what I’ve remembered, I was out with my friends to celebrate someone’s birthday. We went to a bar and all of us got drunk and finished up a whole case.”

Dahyun: “What a good drinker.”

Somi: “Well, umm… after we finished the whole case we talked for almost 1 to 2 hours to lessen our drunkenness and played truth or dare. The others fell asleep while talking and the others were still playing truth or dare. I was very tired, so I decided to go home and take a bath but on my way home I- “

Mina: “Some guys followed you and tried to harass you?”

Somi: “Yes, they- How did you know?”

Mina: “Did you guys drink on the “Blue Moon Club”?”

Somi: “Y-yes…”

Nayeon: “Wait, wait… If someone followed you then did they touched… you?”

Somi: “No… One of my classmates saw me and scared the guys away.”

Chaeyoung: “Wait!” he ran and took a stick and draw it on the sand. “Does this sign a little bit familiar to you?” he said when he finished drawing.

Somi: “Yes! I saw those two guys have that kind of sign on their jackets.”

Jihyo: “I saw that sign too. But I don’t remember when.”

Tzuyu: “So… Sana, Momo, Dahyun and I are the only ones who don’t know about this sign?”

Sana: “But I think I saw it. I saw it on… Mina’s chest…”

Mina: “Dad…”

Momo: “that’s why it was so familiar.”

Tzuyu: “Then are you the culprit?”

Chaeyoung: “She’s not! This has something to do with her father.”

Mina: “This is… This is all my fault. I should’ve died with- “

Chaeyoung: “ENOUGH!” he shouted. Now, all of them are scared and stayed still. “This is no one’s fault. We’re all victims in this game. We don’t bring ourselves down but up.”

Dahyun: “W-what d-do you mean?” he said stuttering, still scared.

Chaeyoung: “I’ll train you basic combat. Just in case you encounter those people again.”

Nayeon: “Hey, uhh… b-baby cub?”

Chaeyoung: “Hmm..?”

Nayeon: “Are you still mad?” she asked and forced a smile.

Chaeyoung: “Me?” he asked coldly and looked at them slowly, then he laughed. “Hahahaha! Look at your faces! It’s like you’ve seen a- “

Momo: ‘Burp’ “Excuse me.” She said embarrassed.

Chaeyoung: [clears voice} “Anyways, if you want to learn everything I learned then I have no problem with that. Except for those two dorks.” He said pointing at Dahyun and Tzuyu.

Jihyo: “Why not? Boys should learn combat skills to protect their loves.”

Dahyun: “Oh no, we know those things already. Well, not everything that Chaeyoung trained but, we learned shooting skills, combat skills and more.”

Somi: “How?”

Tzuyu: “We’re Police officers.”

Nayeon: “So that explains your muscular body.”

Jeongyeon: “I have to admit, I’m a bit jealous about your body.”

Jihyo: “Yeah. He doesn’t have those abs.”

Nayeon: “Well, he does have one round abs.”

Jeongyeon: “Hey!”

Jihyo: “You’re not always the one who teases us and pranks us, you know?”

Chaeyoung: “How about the supplies, Mina noona?”

Mina: “Well, the food we have is only enough for 3 to 4 days and the water for 1 day.”

Jihyo: “We have to find a way to make drinkable water.”

Sana: “I think I know-how. But I’m not sure about it…”

Chaeyoung: “We have to risk it.”

Sana: “Alright.”

Then they all waited for her instruction, but… she didn’t move even an inch. She was confused.

Momo: “Why isn’t anyone moving?”

Jeongyeon: “We’re waiting for Sana’s instruction on what to do.”

Sana: “Oh, we're going to do it now?”

Tzuyu: “Yes. Yes, babe. We’re going to do it now.” He said and facepalm.

Sana: “Oh… alright!” she said and stand up. “We need to get some clean saltwater, banana leaves, some sticks to build something, and fire. We also need a pot. Or something that can boil the saltwater. And, oh, we need 2 empty water bottles.”

Somi: “I think I know what you’re doing.”

Nayeon: “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”

Chaeyoung: “I’ll get the sticks.” He said and ran away.

Jihyo: “I’ll ready the fire!”

Mina: “I’ll get the banana leaves.”

Somi: “Then I’ll get the pan since we don’t have a pot.”

Momo: “I’ll get the plastic bottles.”

Tzuyu: “I’ll get the saltwater.”

They gathered up the things on the northeast side of their little house and followed Sana’s instruction.

Sana: “place two sticks on the side of the fire. Place the saltwater on the pan and wait for it to boil. Once it boils, the steam goes upright? And turn into the water again? So, we're going to put an empty water bottle on the edge of the banana leaves so when it drops it’ll go straight on the bottles.”

Tzuyu: “Nice one babe.” He said and gave a thumbs up.

Dahyun: “How long are we going to wait? I’m getting thirsty.”

Momo: “Here babe.” She said and handed her almost empty water bottle to him.

Dahyun: “We’re short of water right now.” He said and drank the water.

Chaeyoung: “Yeah and you’re wasting some of it.”

Dahyun: “What can I do? I’m thirsty.”

Chaeyoung: “I didn’t drink water yesterday. You think I’m not thirsty?”

Mina: “You what now?”

Tzuyu: “Someone’s got busted…”

Mina: “And why aren’t you drinking water?

Chaeyoung: “To save water.”

Mina: “You’re dehydrated. You have to drink water, NOW.”

Chaeyoung: “Fine. Fine.” He said and took 1 mineral bottle from the crates. He drank it in one go. “Are we good, noona?”

Mina: “You need to drink more.”

Chaeyoung: “What? Do you want us to be thirsty tomorrow? Come on, noona.”

Mina: “Fine. But if I heard that you didn’t drink water then I’ll…”

Chaeyoung: “Then you’ll what, noona? Kiss me?” he said teasing her.

Mina: “I’ll kill you.” She said blushing and walked away.

Chaeyoung: “Hey! I was just kidding noona! Noona!”

Somi: “Are you guys siblings?”

Chaeyoung: “We are. Why?”

Somi: “You don’t look like one.”

Dahyun: “I agree. You were never this flirty and smiley guy.”

Tzuyu: “And I can’t believe that you’re a no-jam bro.”

Dahyun: “And that! Explains why he never jokes around us.” He said while he fists bomb with Tzuyu.

Chaeyoung: “Are you saying that in front of my face?” he said and glared at them.

Sana: “C’mon Somi and Momo. Someone’s going to teach someone a lesson.”

Momo: “Goodluck babe~”

Somi: “Go easy on them Chaengie~ Good luck guys!”

Chaeyoung: “Since they said that I’ll go easy on you. Then let’s go easy on you.”

Dahyun: “Wait, babe. Don’t leave us here. Babe… Babe!!!”

Tzuyu: “Chae… we can talk about this… Chae…”

Chaeyoung: “Talk my .”

He ran towards them and Dahyun manage to run away while Chaeyoung Tied Tzuyu up first. After he tied Tzuyu, Chaeyoung runs again to find Dahyun and Tie him up too.

Dahyun: “Hey. Bro Jeong!”

Jeongyeon: “What is it?” he said busy doing something.

Dahyun: “If Chae asks where I am, can you tell him the exact opposite where I went?”

Jeongyeon: “Oh yeah sure.” He said not listening to what he said.

Dahyun: “Thanks bro.” he said and ran away again.

Jeongyeon: “Phew! I’m finally finished.” He said and saw Chaeyoung approaching him. “Oh, Hey cub. What are you doing here?”

Chaeyoung: “Where’s Dahyun?”

Jeongyeon: “Over there. He just went here earlier talking somethings I didn’t understand.”

Chaeyoung: “Thanks bro, I owe you one.”

Jeongyeon: “Sure no problem.”

And by that, Chaeyoung ran to where Jeongyeon Pointed and he saw Dahyun hide behind the tree.

Chaeyoung: “He doesn’t know how to hide. Pathetic guy.” He thought and caught him at once.

Dahyun: “Ahhhh!!! Jisoos christ!”

Chaeyoung: “C’mon. I still need to tie you up.”

Dahyun: “W-what? Why?”

Chaeyoung: “You’ll know that later.”

They arrived at where Chaeyoung left Tzuyu and Tzuyu was just laying on the ground looking at the sky.

Dahyun: “Tzu! Why are tied up?”
Tzuyu: “Oh, you guys are finally here. Chae, can you do this fast? We still need to check on Sana’s work.”

Chaeyoung: “Sure, Sure.”

He tied Dahyun’s hands and feet and was ready to… tickle them. He don’t want to hurt his friends, so he thought that he’ll just tickle them.

Both of them was shouting for help and was dying because of laughter

The fun ends when Jeongyeon called them for a group meeting with a serious face.

Chaeyoung: ‘I guess Mina noona told them about last night.’ He thought. “Let’s go guys.”

Tzuyu: “Don’t forget to untie us”

Chaeyoung: “Oh yeah sorry.”

The school meal club went to them and started a serious meeting.
