Sakura grunted as she turned her body sideways.  Her phone on the nightstand won’t stop buzzing. It has been buzzing for good five minutes but she can’t bring herself to answer it just yet. The weather made her extra sleepy. It was cold and she was finding refuge under her warm and thick blankets. She had no intention to leave her warm bed if it wasn’t for the plan she made with Eunbi.

Right, they were going to spend Christmas together--- again. It has always been like that for the past few years that it became part of their annual routine.

Sakura finally reached for her buzzing phone.

“Hello?”

“Hey, we’re still on, right?” The gentle voice from the other line greeted Sakura.

“Just give me 30 minutes and I’ll be there, okay?” Sakura said as she got up and pulled her clothes from her closet.

“Okay, hurry up. I’ll be at the station in 15.”

“Ever so punctual, unnie. Alright, I’ll be there.”

Sakura finally reached the station. She immediately saw Eunbi waiting at the platform. She could feel her heart beat faster at the sight of Eunbi looking like an adorable cotton ball with all those thick layers of clothes she wore to keep herself warm.

How long has it been since she admitted to herself that she loves the woman waiting for her?

Sakura lost track of time.

Eunbi’s eyes lit up when she finally saw glimpse of Sakura amidst the crowd. She raised her hand up to get Sakura’s attention which the other could only smile at. Sakura made her way to Eunbi and the latter immediately caged her in a tight hug.

Eunbi’s always fond of skin ship for as long as Sakura remember. She would always act like she didn’t like Eunbi’s hugs but what she truly feels was the otherwise. Eunbi’s hugs were always warm and comforting, and Sakura would always be disappointed whenever the former lets her go.

“You overslept again, didn’t you?” Eunbi squinted at Sakura. The latter smiled at the older guiltily.

“Sorry.”

Eunbi playfully shoved her.

“Let’s get going. You need to treat me later, alright?”

Sakura hummed in response before adding, “Where are we going, anyway?”

“Let’s just stroll around for a bit.”

She happily skipped her way and looked back at Sakura who stayed rooted at her place.

“C’mon!” She gestured at the latter who only sighed as she followed her.

They strolled around the nearest park, near the center of the city where festive shops were located. There was a comfortable silence between them with occasional little banters.

Sakura felt Eunbi slowed down and looked at her. She saw Eunbi with her eyes closed, feeling the cold breeze of winter. Eunbi looked peaceful. She couldn’t help but admire how the beauty looked. Flashbacks from their younger years started playing on her mind.

Sakura clearly remembered how Eunbi cried when she got her first heartbreak. And the former swore she’ll never let Eunbi get through that pain again.

Her thoughts were cut short when she heard Eunbi.

“Love is an open door, love is an open door,” Eunbi suddenly sang, playfully skipping ahead of Sakura. She then turned around to face the latter and continued singing.

“Love is an open door, with you, with you, with you, love is an open door.”

Sakura couldn’t help but wonder where Eunbi got all her energy from when the latter suddenly jogged towards the swing she saw. The older continued her solo Frozen musical.

“’Cause for the first time in forever~~~”

Sakura chuckled at her antics, feeling slightly embarrassed and at the same time, she felt warmth and happiness creeping inside her.

Feeling their hunger for skipping breakfast not mentioning how cold it was outdoors, the two decided to finally enter the first ramen house they laid their eyes into as they reach the heart of the city.

“Hot, hot!” Sakura exclaimed as she felt the ramen soup burn her tongue. Eunbi looked at her with worried eyes but immediately chuckled at the sight of Sakura desperately fanning .

“Yah, you should be more careful!” Eunbi reprimanded the younger as she handed her the water which the latter gulp in rush, hoping to ease the burnt. The older notice the water dripping on her chin so she reached across the table to wipe Sakura’s face.

“Are you five?” Eunbi joked.

“Says the one who played Anna earlier, tsk,” Sakura mumbled.

Eunbi pinched Sakura’s arm before pulling her phone out to take a picture of their food. Sakura just watched the older do her thing.

“Kkura-yah, smile,” Eunbi pointed her camera to Sakura who had open as she was about to slurp her noodles.

“Unnie!” She whined at the older, “I’m not ready!”

Eunbi chuckled.

“Fine, c’mon. Pose nicely.” She said as she changed her phone’s camera into selfie cam to take their photo.

“1,2,3.”

Eunbi reviewed the pictures she took with a smile while Sakura continued eating. The older’s phone then pinged, signaling someone chatted her. Sakura saw her typing with a smile and it somehow bothered her.

“Yah, your meal’s getting cold.”

The older directed her eyes to Sakura. The later then frowned when Eunbi suddenly laughed.

“I’m sorry, it’s just that---“  Eunbi didn’t finish what she’s going to say and instead showed her phone to the younger. Sakura rolled her eyes. Eunbi just posted her candid picture where she had open on IG.

“Really?” Sakura expressed her distain when Eunbi continued laughing.

“Sorry, I’ll stop okay.” Eunbi put her phone on her bag and started eating.

“Does it taste good?” The younger curiously asked. She hasn’t tried eating what Eunbi was having. The latter enthusiastically nodded. She raised a spoonful towards Sakura.

Sakura made a disgusted expression. It’s not that the food tasted disgusting, it’s just that she’s not that familiar with its taste. Her expression made Eunbi uncontrollably laugh ag
