Shuhua’s pov:

I did it. I finally did it. The moment our parents asked us for our opinion, I knew what I’ve to do. After everything that happened, after everythign that witch did and especially after I found out how I really feel, it’s time for me to act up. I can’t hand Sae over to someone like her.

Flashback

After Sae went out to the picnic with Mina I took a shower and went out. I hid the key at the spot she told me about and called my friends. They suddenly wanted to meet up, saying it’s an emergency which is probably only because they wanna trash talk about some guys Soojin and Miyeon went you to see. We were meeting at the same spot as ever. Burger king lmao, they never change. To my surprise, not only G-idle but Twice were also there. They looked kinda, nervous.

«What’s up? Are we having a party or what ? », I asked as I sat down on the table.

« Shuhua « , Tzuyu was the first one to speak up. I looked at each one of them, they all gave me a nervous look.

« What’s up why are y’all so..weird ? »

« Do us a favor », Jeongyeon said.

« Uhm depends tho, I mean I’m not a magician, I do what I can »

« Stop Mina », Jihyo added.

« H-huh ? Mina ? », I said as I looked around, confused with every sentence they just said. Now that I realize, she’s not here..

« Yes Mina », Sana said.

« But-but why ? I mean she’s happily dating Sae and she’s your friend ? », I was confused. Did something happen ?

« She’s been acting weird lately and we confronted her about it. It’s like she’s possesed and blinded. We don’t really know what she’s planing but we know her well enough to know that something’s up», Chaeyoung said. I don’t even have to hear it twice to feel the disappoitment in her voice.

«And also, Shuhua, that girl has been giving us a hard time! I have no idea where she got our numbers from but she asked us to meet up, we did and she’s been asking questions about you. It’s like she’s gathering information or idk evidence. We didn’t think about that much since we thought she may just be jealous or something but then she suddenly badmounthed Sae and tried to make us take you away from Sae. We didn’t agree with that but as days went by strange things started to happen. Shuhua, she made the principal kick half of us out of school by saying we bullied and harassed her! », Soyeon furiously said.

«How..how do you guys know that??», I asked and tried to think otherwise. I got to know Mina as an innocent and quiet girl. She never did anything, she never stood out. All she did was suddenly start dating Sae which ofc hurted my in someway but yeah. I couldn’t imagine Mina do something like that.

«Well we were ranting at Mc’s and Twice showed up and heard our conversation by coincidence. That’s how we got to discuss. Tzuyu told me how powerful Mina’s mom is when it comes to school », Yuqi said.

« I..I don’t know what to say »

« Look girl, we all know that you have something for our idiot, we ain’t blind like Sae, so it’s a win win situation for us all. We want Sae to be safe and Mina to realize that she’s doing wrong things», Naeyeon’s getting more and more annoyed by the topic.

«I-I don’t have something for her!»

«Haha cmon even I, who only have eyes for food, can clearly see that you have soemthing for her», Momo added.

«I.., didn’t you guys talk to her? Why should I be the main act ? I mean just talking could already help ! »

« Look as if we didn’t try, we did, we really did our best but Mina..she’s been blocking and avoiding us. Her strange behaviour is getting more and more weird and we’re getting more and more worried. We can’t reach her and we couldn’t talk to Sae about this matter yet. I don’t think she’ll believe us now weh ave to gather more evidence for this case. But before something even worse happens, we want you to step in», Nayeon said.

«Easier said than done what am I supposed to do tho»

«Just make sure you get Sae on your side. As long as that idiot in blindly in love with Mina, we can’t talk to her and Mina will still be overly obsessed with her.»

«Please Shushu, she’s ruining our life. My mom almost killed me for getting kicked out!», Minnie said.

I never knew it’d come this far, I wanted to create a detailed plan but man, srsly didnt’ expect our parents to meet up and suddenly announce their future plans. I bet Sae’s confused as hell right now but that was the only way to stay by her side as close as possible. I have to think of something to put this to an end. Tzuyu gave me Minas adress, in case I wanna talk about her in person and hell yes I want to. I texted her beforehead that I’ll come over and she read it but didn’t even bother to text back. Should I just walk in and scream? Lmao better not my parents build up a good reputation, ain’t gonna ruin that. Arriving at her house, I saw her waiting outside. Seems like she got the message. I stepped out of my car, making my way to my love rival. Wait what ? Love rival ? tf am I thinking.

« What’s the matter Shuhua ? », Mina said and smiled sweetly. She looked so innocent, it’s hard to believe what she did. I just couldn’t force myself to believe anything I just heard but then the face of everyone popped out in my head. The way they looked so lost, the way my members were hurt and got kicked out of school for such a ridiculous reason. My blood boiled, I’m angry, angry at the fact all tht happened, angry at the fact innocent people were involved and especially angry at Mina.

«What do you think you’re doing ? », I said.

«Huh ? I don’t know what you mean ? »

« I heard everything Mina, stop playing, I know what you did», I said. Her expressions changed. She had that crazy smile on her face. A smile I have thought I’d only see in movies but here I am, standing in front of a person with a exact same smile I saw on Joker last week.

« So what ? », she said and raised her eyebrows.

«I wanna know why? Why would you do such things? What did they do to you?»

«Oh sweetie, they didn’t do anything, but you did», her smile faded. She looked straight ito my eyes without even flinching.

«I..? What on earth did I do ? ! »

« Acting like a fool huh ? Don’t you know that it’s not nice to take away someone’s girlfriend ? Sae’s mine ! », there we go. That’s really the reason she’s been doing that ? It’s because of Sae???

«D-dude I didn’t do what are you talking about ! Sae and I, we’re just friends!»

«I don’t remember that friends can kiss each other», she said and crossed her arms. I flinched. Sae told her about the kiss. The kiss not even I knew I’d be doing it. The sudden thought of the kiss we shared made me blush. I didn’t think it’d affect me this much.

«Look I’m sorry fort hat, I didn’t know what came over me»

«Too late sweetie»

«Oh cmon, you can be furious at me but why dragging my friends into it ? They have nothing to do with my stupid decisions ! »

« I want you to suffer, just like I did. Watch closely Shuhua, precious things can be taken away in a blink of an eye. And, if you think Sae would believe anything you say, think twice. She’s on my side and forever will», she said and went in, leaving me outside. Wow I didn’t expect her tob e this crazy.

The next morning was weird. Sae picked me up like always but we didn’t speak a word to each other till we arrived at my school. I got off and saw her looking around.

«Where are the idiots», she playfully said. Sae and my memebers got along pretty well and I think she came to love them like a family. I stayed quiet. She doesn’t know they’ve been kicked out yet and maybe it’s fort he best she shouldn’t for now. Not until I figure something out on my own.

«They’re probably already inside. Ah, don’t pick me up anymore », I said and forced a smile. I can’t bring this lie up everytime she drops me off at school, things could get out of hand.

«H-huh why not?»

«Just so, I’m an independent strong woman you now? I’m Yeh Susan!» I smiled.

«Dude wtf lmao»

«But let’s grab something to eat after school, I still wanna talk to you about us», she said and I nodded. School was boring without my friends, I’m lonely and the lessons made it even worse.

Sae’s pov:

I arrived at school, like always getting greeted by my girlfriend with a backhug.

«Hey babe», she said and kissed me. She’s been kissing me a lot lately, not that I’ve something against it, it’s just that I’m not used to this much affection. I smiled at her and looked around. The memebers were standing behind her, with their arms crossed and worried stares. I got of my bike and walked up to greet them.

«Morning, what’s with the weird faces? Did something happen?», I asked them in confusion. They looked like something’s been bothering them.

«No everything’s fine», Dahyun said and smiled a bit. The whole atmosphere is weird..

It wasn’t just the atmosphere but their whole behaviour is weird. I can see that they try to act like they always do, but even Momo is eating less tha usual. Tzuyu is even more quiet than usual and Nayeon is somewhat annoyed by something. Mina on the other hand was cheerful. She’s been more and more active lately. She’s sticking to me like glue and shows so much affection, it’s like they all changed somehow. I don’t feel so comfortable, it’s weird, everything’s so weird and everytime I ask them about it, they shurg it off as if I’m the weird one. When school finally ended I couldn’t help but smiled at the thought of meeting the little lion soon. She’s been crossing my mind more and more lately and I’m not trying to avoi dit anymore. I don’t know when it started but the more I think about her, the less I care about what’s around me.

« Wanna come over to my place ? », Mina asked.

« Sorry babe got something to do», I said and got on my bike.

« Again.. ? Who are you meeting ? Shuhua ? »

« Y-yeah but just to talk things out, nothing to worry about, really »

« It’s always the same. You always favor Shuhua don’t you ? »

« Babe no it’s no -», before I could even end my sentece she walked away. Please don’t tell me everything’s gonna start over with this topic. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulders and turned around. The others were standing behind me, looking at me with sad eyes.

«Woah jeez don’t surprise me like that. What’s up ? »

« Nothing, take care yeah ? », Jihyo said and they walked away. What the hell was that about..Oh I’m late, Shuhua’s gonna be mad, I drove off as fast as possible.

There we go, an angry little lion eating her food at wendy’s.

«Yahh I told you I’m sorry for being late»

«Hmpf», she said and pouted. I couldn’t help but smile. She’s too cute to be angry.

«Whatcha laughing about huh?», she said and tried to bite me.

« Yah wtf don’t do that here people will think we’re weird!», I said and looked around, making sure no one saw it. Just a couple of tables away were some ahjummas sitting and laughing at us.

« Love during youth days is really somehting isn’t it », one of them said and winked at me. Shuhua dropped her french frie and I had my mouth wide open. We quickly made ourselves small. Man this is embarassing. I looked to Shuhua, without even know that we’ve been so close to each other. Our eyes locked with each other, I could feel her breath. She’s so crazy beautiful…

«Yah Sae..don’t look at me like that», she shily said and quickly looked away.

«I-I’m sorry», I said and slided a bit further away.

« You don’t have go that far away you bean sprout I’m not gonna kill you », she said and slapped my shoulders.

« Woah never knew your short arms could still reach me Shuhu», I laughed.

«YAAAH», she slapped me again. I just smiled. Lately, I’ve been looking forward to spend more and more time with her. She’s such a vitamin.

«I think I love you Shuhua», before I could realize what I’ve just said shuhua dropped her burger.

«W-w-wha-», she couldn’t get a word out. Wait what did I just say..OH WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING.

«Sh-shuhua! I’m…SORRY I DIDN’T MEAN TO», I said and looked at the confused foreign girl in front of me. She sat there, her face ust as red as a tomatoe.

« Do..do you really mean what you just said ? », she carefully asked, tried her best to hide her accent. I didn’t know how to respond. What if she’ll hate me or something. I don’t know what went over me. Why did I say such things. My phone rang, I excused myself and looked at it. A message from Joohyun ?

What the- how did she- is she a witch..??? Follow my heart huh? What does my heart wants? I looked at Shuhua, the still confused girl looked at the table. I closed my eyes. The very first person popping into my head, Shuhua. I tried hard to think about Mina but everytime I do, Shuhua’s image is coming out. Is that what I’ve been seeking for ?

« I do.. », I responded or better said, my heart did. Be honest with yourself Sae, you’re just gonna get hurt and hurt everyone if you keep suppress your feelings. Shuhua looked at me, her eyes were teary for some reasons..but the she suddenly smiled. That smile, that one little smile made my heart flutter, that smile, is all I needed for me to know what to do next..

Shuhua’s pov :

Her sudden confession made me feel weak. I didnt kno what to say, why is she being like this..

«I do..», she said. This is all for me to be at the edge of crying. I never knew this would make me so happy. I smiled a bit.

«Better take responsibilities», I said and she nodded like crazy.

« Your face is red like a tomatoe bean sprout », I said and laughed.

« You’re not a bit better Shushu», she said and kept on eating. A sudden fear came over, as if someone is watching me and damn I was right. I looked over Sae’s shoulder at the window. Mina was standing there, she was on the phone with someone but she didn’t break the eye contact with me once. Her eyes were dead and they had a message in them

*I’ve warned you*

I got goosebumps and my phone suddenly rang.

« Aren’t you gonna answer that ?», Sae’s sudden voice made me come back to my sense. I looked up over her shoulders to the window again. She’s gone. I shaked the feeling off me and answered the phone as I saw Soojins name on it.I tried to calm down as good as I could but the weird feeling was still here.

«Hey what’s u-»      

«Shuhua we’ve got a big problem ! »

« What ? What’s the matter ? »

« Minnie and Yuqi have been arrested!»

«What?!»
